‘Best of the Best': DAZN Chooses Hakimi Among Team of The Week
Rabat – International streaming platform DAZN Football announced their pick for Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi in their Team of the Week, given his outstanding performance during the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup. 'The best of the best,' DAZN Football wrote on Instagram today, choosing between Chelsea and PSG players. In addition to Hakimi, Donnarumma from PSG is also among the list, along with Marquinhos, Ruiz, Barcelo, and Dembele. As for Chelsea, Chalobah is on the list, along with Cucurella, Nethako, Fernandez, along Pedro. Hakimi's inclusion on the list comes as no surprise amid the growing international recognition he has been earning thanks to his exceptional performances with PSG and with Morocco's Atlas Lions. With PSG, Hakimi has been impressing the world with his leading contribution to his club's success during the FIFA Club World Cup campaign. His discipleship and consistent impact within the club make is the best and top right and full back. The performance further strengthened his bid in the recent viral campaign, with fans, pundits, and former players worldwide calling for Hakimi as the upcoming winner for the Ballon d'Or. Many also argue that if Hakimi does not clinch the coveted award, he should at least be among the top three finalists. This impressively marks the second time Hakimi was listed in DAZN Football's Team of the Week this month. The Moroccan star is now not only racing for the Ballon d'Or but also for the FIFA Club World Cup title. PSG will play in the finals against Chelsea on Sunday at 8 p.m. Moroccan time. White backs Bulls enigma: "If he plays full game we will be there at the end.
Take it as read that the South Africa and the Bulls fans are as obsessed as the Ireland and Leinster fans when it comes to their respective White's out-half Johan Goosen, 32, hasn't played for the Springboks since 2016, a year in which he kicked three penalties for Racing as they won the Top 14 to announce in December 2016 he was leaving rugby altogether to become a commercial director of an agriculture company in South lasted just over a year and saying he had made a 'mistake' he signed for Montpellier for 2018/19, subsequently signing for Bulls in boss White is a fan and has always been a fan - which is more or less the opposite of Rassie Erasmus's opinion: "Well Johan is that good in that he hadn't played for a while, played last week and made Team of the Week by the media."He has been unlucky, he has been injured, been back, injured, back again and there was that time he had to retire when he was at Racing."When he is on song he can be as good as any other no10 in the world and for a guy that played 13 tests, when he was a schoolboy he was a prodigy, people thought he would play 100 test matches, people thought he could do anything."He was quick, could kick at goal, he could pass, he had everything and what's probably put him back is that he hasn't played enough rugby in the past five, six, seven years."His critics claim Goosen blows hot and cold, there are those who suggest he plays too many games either injured, half-injured or returning from injury, while his fans assert he is the real deal - when White: "He is 32, he would say 30 with 'two years experience' and was probably at the peak of his career between 24 to 28 and played on for that year when he got injured (2019)."But I can tell you, I have had him and I coached him for a long time, and when I was at Montpellier I brought him to Montpellier and he can play."In the year when he was at Racing in France when Dan Carter was at no10, he was the Player of the Top 14 Tournament."Now there are not many guys who can win Top 14 Player of the Tournament who play no10 but who are playing as an outside back when you consider how many huge Fijians who play outside back in that league."To be fair, I know he didn't have a full game last weekend but if he plays a full game this weekend we will be there at the end."

Primetime 585 Spotlight Team: Avon softball
The Primetime 585 Spotlight Team of the Week is the Avon softball team. On Tuesday, the Riverhawks faced Geneseo in a highly anticipated pitchers duel between Avon's Jessie Crye and Geneseo's Addie McDonald. Avon came out on top, as Crye threw a one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts. Crye also led her team to the win at the plate, leading off the fourth inning with a triple. She then scored the game's only run on a sacrifice fly by Rylie Miller. Miller is batting .346 with nine RBIs. Avon locked it down on defense, highlighted by a diving catch from right fielder Caroline Hayes to help preserve the win. Catcher Abby Schutz made an impact behind the plate and is also batting .370 this season. Infielder Payton Rice was a force at shortstop and has a .357 batting average. 'They did a great job today, first of all, and I think I said to them, this is one of the best defensive games I've seen them play in probably a couple years,' head coach Jill Terry said. 'The girls put the ball in play, that's what we need to do on offense. Defense, we back up our pitcher.' Crye's had a dominant year on the mound. She has 113 strikeouts and has given up just 19 hits this season. Over her career, she has 772 strikeouts. The junior also dominates at the plate, batting an impressive .609 with 17 RBIs. 'There's so many good teams out there, but I feel like our defense, I don't feel that pressure on the mound,' Crye said. 'I know that my girls got my back, and if I keep pitching, I know they have me.' The team's camaraderie and trust in each other might just be the reason for their 9-0 season. 'We all have each other's backs, I think we're a very well-rounded team,' Hayes said. 'Especially on defense, we can all do a job.' Congratulations to Coach Terry and the Avon Riverhawks for earning the Primetime 585 Team of the Week! Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Hallgrimsson target recognised in latest ranking as ever-present run continues
Ireland Under-21 defender Anselmo Garcia MacNulty has followed up his chat with Heimir Hallgrímsson by making the latest ESPN Eredivisie Team of the Week. The Seville-born youngster featured in PEC Zwolle's 3-1 win away to NAC Breda on Sunday, where his performance earned him a place at centre-back in the weekly-11. It's not MacNulty's first time featuring in the Team of the Week, but this one comes fresh from a meeting with senior boss Hallgrímsson, who watched the 22-year-old play against Feyenoord late last month. PEC lost that one 4-0, but MacNulty's performance in front of the Boys in Green boss had plenty of positives. He is back in his more familiar centre-back role this season after spending last year as a left-back - an area that has been problematic for Ireland for some time now. Hallgrímsson will later this month name a squad for the summer friendlies against Luxembourg and Senegal. The Ireland manager has already stated that Championship players will be disadvantaged by their regular season ending last weekend. The Dutch top-flight will continue into the middle of this month, with Zwolle facing Go Ahead Eagles, Willem II and FC Groningen in their remaining games. So it represents an opportunity for MacNulty, whose mum Maeve hails from Kilmaley in Co Clare, to secure a first senior call-up. He will also hope to finish the season with maximum minutes on the pitch. The former Real Betis and VfL Wolfsburg prospect is currently one of only two ever-present outfield players in the Eredivisie this season, having played every moment of PEC Zwolle's 31 league games to date. Go Ahead Eagles defender Mats Deijl is the other player to have not yet missed any action.
