Kuwait's athletes gear up for third Gulf Beach Games in Oman
KUWAIT CITY, April 3: The Kuwait Olympic Committee has announced its participation in the 3rd Gulf Beach Games "Muscat 2025," which will take place in the Sultanate of Oman from tomorrow. A total of 65 athletes, both male and female, will represent Kuwait across six of the eight sports scheduled for the tournament, which runs until April 11.
Mohammed Al-Khalfan, the head of Kuwait's delegation and director of the committee, confirmed that Kuwait will compete in beach soccer, beach volleyball, sailing, air sports (paragliding), athletics, and equestrian peg-tie competitions. The tournament will also feature beach handball and long-distance swimming.
Al-Khalfan emphasized that Kuwait's participation underscores the committee's commitment to fostering collaboration among Gulf Cooperation Council countries. He highlighted the importance of sports activities in promoting unity and sports integration among Gulf youth, noting that the tournament would feature elite athletes from across the region.
He also expressed optimism about the event's significance for Kuwaiti players, who aim to achieve top results and bring pride to their country. He thanked the government for its continued support of Kuwait's sports sector and praised the Oman Olympic Committee for its excellent preparations in hosting the event. Al-Khalfan expects fierce competition among the Gulf athletes in what promises to be an exciting tournament.
The Kuwait Olympic Committee has also confirmed the administrative delegation for the event, which includes Major General (Ret.) Mohammed Saeed Al-Khalfan as the head of the delegation, Dr. Hussein Al-Saeed as Mission Director, Mohammed Al-Saadi as Director of the Technical Department, Mohammed Al-Shabrawi as Financial Director, Ayman Al-Waili as Media Attaché, Ibrahim Rizq as Administrator, and Mustafa Al-Yasiri as Photographer.
The air sports team consists of Ahmed Al-Mas, Naif Al-Humaidi, Talal Al-Mutawa, Mohammed Al-Dosari, Ibrahim Al-Rashoud, Nader Al-Mutairi (coach), and Ahmed Al-Shalhi (team manager). The sailing team includes Hamad Al-Masoud, Ali Anki, Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, Badr Bu Hamad, Amina Shah, Salem Qali, Saud Al-Masoud, Manaf Al-Wahib, Ihab Al-Shanabi (coach), and Ibrahim Al-Farih (team manager). The beach volleyball team consists of Taha Sadiq, Jassim Al-Sabbagh, Nawaf Al-Rashidi, Abdulwahab Talib, Khaled Al-Mutairi (coach), and Abdulaziz Al-Holi (referee). The athletics team includes Khaled Al-Masoud, Mohammed Al-Enezi, Mohammed Ashkanani, Badr Mohammed, Hashem Al-Ali, Khaled Al-Shammari, Ali Badr, Faleh Al-Ajmi (team manager), Hamou Al-Bukili, and Umit Tan (coaches). The beach soccer team features Omar Al-Ruqi, Mishaal Al-Shafei, Abdulaziz Al-Salem, Mohammed Al-Kandari, Jassim Al-Sabaa, Omar Al-Fulaikawi, Abdulaziz Al-Sidra, Badr Al-Tarmoum, Jassim Al-Harban, Ahmed Al-Mashmoum, Wael Al-Shammari, Shamlan Al-Kandari, Mohammed Al-Shaer, Mohammed Hajiya, Abdullah Fouad Ashour (team manager), Tariq Al-Khalidi, and Hussein Khaled (coaches). The peg-picking team consists of Abdullah Al-Daihani, Abdullah Al-Hindi, Hussein Al-Ajmi, Ghanem Al-Ajmi, Ibrahim Al-Enezi, Naif Al-Usaimi (team manager), Rashid Al-Marri, and Ali Bin Ali (coaches).
The tournament's competitions will be held in various locations in Muscat and Bousher, with football matches taking place at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex from April 7 to 11 and volleyball on the beaches of Muscat. Beach handball will also be played at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex from April 5 to 11, while long-distance swimming will occur on the beaches of Muscat from April 9 to 11. Sailing competitions will take place on the beaches of Muscat from April 6 to 10, and tent pegging will be held at Al Rahba Farm from April 8 to 10. Athletics and paragliding events are scheduled for the beaches of Muscat and Al Hail Beach, respectively, from April 5 to 10.
