Why Ted Lasso Season 4 Cast May Not See Nate's Return
As fans eagerly await the release of Ted Lasso Season 4, actor Nick Mohammed has provided a cryptic update regarding the potential return of his character. Mohammed, who portrayed Nathan 'Nate' Shelley on Ted Lasso, had a rollercoaster of an arc during the show's three-season run that saw him jumping between good and evil on multiple occasions. As such, fans have been concerned about Nate's fate.
In a recent interview with the Associated Press Entertainment, the Deep Cover star opened up about possibly coming back as Nate in Ted Lasso Season 4. While Mohammed refrained from divulging much information regarding the upcoming fourth season of the series, he did hint that Nate might not be involved in the action.
'Yeah, well, I can't say too much apart from that, you know, it's happening. It's going to be the women's football at AFC Richmond. Who knows if Nate's still there? We'll have to see. Because, you know, he's a great football coach who will probably have gone further afield by this point,' the British comedian said about appearing in Ted Lasso Season 4.
Nate started as a humble kitman with an aptitude for coaching, and soon got a chance to prove his merits on the biggest stage. Not only was he able to bail out AFC Richmond from a tight spot, but he also received public acknowledgement for his talents. However, fame soon got to his head, causing him to embrace his darker side and join forces with Rebecca Welton's ex-husband as the head coach of his club, West Ham United. While most of Season 3 dealt with Nate struggling with his newly adopted path, he redeems himself at the end by apologizing to his Richmond crewmates and rejoining the side as its assistant kitman.
While Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Welton in Ted Lasso, has confirmed that filming for Season 4 will commence later this July, the upcoming season has yet to receive an official release date.
