Clean bill of health for inbred Yorkshire Wildlife Park lion cubs
Three lion cubs whose "shock" birth in captivity was the result of an incestuous mating between a mother and her son are all healthy, staff at a wildlife park have cubs, which are now nine weeks old, were born in April at Yorkshire Wildlife Park (YWP), near Doncaster, amid fears the inbreeding could cause genetic YWP staff said that following the cubs' two-month check up and vaccinations, they had a "clean bill of health".Bex Brown, head of carnivores at the wildlife park, said it was "such a delight to see a new generation of lions healthy and happy". The cubs' mother, Aysa, was rescued from war-torn Kyiv in March 2024 with her female cubs Emi and Santa, and male Teddi, who is now arrived at YWP after being moved 2,000 miles (3,219km) by road from a Polish holding was thought that Aysa became pregnant between two vasectomy procedures her son Teddi underwent towards the end of park has been criticised for the "against the odds" pregnancy, because inbreeding can lead to health defects and abnormalities. But a spokesperson said it was decided not to separate the lioness and her older cubs because they had spent nine months apart without sunlight or outside stimulation on their journey to Doncaster and there had been fears separating them again would have "compromised" Teddi. Staff at YWP said following the cubs' latest check-ups and vaccinations, their development was on track and they were hitting weight and growth milestones."We are so happy to share that the cubs are doing well," Ms Brown said."Their personalities are already coming through and the boys are definitely a bit more boisterous. "The female is a little more delicate and keener on coming over to see the keepers." Staff said the cubs needed "the best possible start at life" and, as the weather improved and the cubs grew, they were getting more time the new cubs would live alongside their older siblings, but for now could be seen on screen, a spokesperson Brown said: "We're working on gradually progressing them to the reserves, but first need to do some 'cub-proofing' to ensure they're safe."Hopefully, soon visitors will be able to see the cubs join their siblings and learn to socialise with the rest of the pride." Teddi Mellencamp's best friend in tears as she shares update on cancer treatment
Teddi Mellencamp is living with Stage 4 cancer after being diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma skin cancer in 2022, and she's offered another update on her treatment Teddi Mellencamp has shared an encouraging update on her Stage 4 cancer battle, revealing positive progress with her immunotherapy treatments. The 43-year-old reality star and daughter of singer John Cougar Mellencamp was diagnosed with Stage 2 melanoma skin cancer in 2022, which escalated to Stage 4 earlier this year following the discovery of multiple brain tumours. In a heartfelt revelation back in February, the podcast presenter announced that after being diagnosed, 'multiple' tumours were found in her brain and lung. Following a daunting brain operation, the ex- Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star made a bold statement at a recent cancer fundraiser by choosing not to wear a wig, bravely revealing the scars from her surgeries. In late April, she announced that the brain tumours had significantly reduced in size and she could be just weeks away from being declared cancer-free. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star provided another update during her Two T's In a Pod podcast with Tamra Judge, even calling in from her actual immunotherapy appointment. "Today I had the scan and where they checked my lungs and they are shrinking and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it," she revealed. Her co-host Judge responded to her Instagram post linking to their podcast, expressing her overwhelming joy: "can't stop crying tears of joy," adding, "I love you so much." Teddi continued: "So it's really really good news. I'm definitely so relieved. I'm also a little bit like, if I sound a little weird, it's because I'm in the middle of them in a therapy treatment right now. But what they said was this is good news. That means my body is responding to everything. But I do need to live on immunotherapy for the next two years." "So every four weeks for the next two years, I have to come in and get that done. So and then every three months I get another scan and we check to make sure that everything is where it is," she added. Teddi added: "I thought that, like, once the tumours start going away, I'm like, 'so, does that mean I'm cancer free?' And he's like 'no'. He's like 'we will let you know when you're in remission'. But at this point, everything's just heading the correct way." Asked by Tamra if the immunotherapy was "curing" the cancer or "controlling" it, Teddi answered: "Both. It's making sure that it's getting smaller and then let's say that it gets so small that it disappears. It's making sure that it won't form anywhere else in my body." The reality TV star added: "The reason they were able to do this treatment on me, because remember radiation didn't work and the tumors were getting bigger, and like I was only able to get certain surgeries is because over at Cedars Clinic. There is everything in one spot. So because of that, they can do multiple treatments and figure out what works for you individually. So I think what ends up happening to a lot of people." She went on to express her gratitude for living in California, adding, "They go to you know, they have to go to all these different doctors at different locations, where mine is kind of like a one stop shop." Earlier this month, Teddi discussed with her followers on Instagram how she decides daily between wearing a wig or going without, explaining that her choice often mirrors her emotional state. "The day to day decision of wig versus no wig. Crying days I tend to pick the wig," she posted, alongside a selfie sporting a full blonde wig.

Teddi Mellencamp receives 'really good' news amid cancer fight
Teddi Mellencamp's body is responding well to immunotherapy. The 43-year-old TV star recently revealed via social media that her tumours had either shrunk or disappeared since starting her cancer treatment, and Teddi has now delivered another positive update, confirming that her immunotherapy treatment appears to be working. During her latest appearance on 'Two Ts In a Pod with Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge', she shared: "Last time, they had checked solely my brain, and those tumours are shrinking. And then, today I had the scan, where they checked my lungs and they are shrinking and one of them has shrunk so much you can barely even see it." Despite this, Teddi will have to continue with immunotherapy - which uses a patient's own immune system to fight cancer - for the next two years. She said: "So every four weeks for the next two years, I have to come in and get that done. And then every three months I get another scan and we check to make sure that everything is where it is." Asked whether immunotherapy was controlling or curing her cancer, Teddi replied: "It's both. "It's making sure that it's getting smaller and then let's say that it gets so small that it disappears, it's making sure that it won't form anywhere else in my body. "I was a little bit worried about having to live on immunotherapy because you know how I am when I get super emotional on certain days. But I think that the fact that this is all moving in a smooth path forward is really good news." Teddi recently revealed that her tumours had either "shrunk or disappeared". The reality TV star took to social media to explain that she was "on course" to make a recovery, amid her ongoing cancer battle. Teddi wrote on Instagram: "One update I couldn't wait to share! "All tumors stage 4 (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course. "Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity [heart emojis] (sic)"

Real Housewives star Teddi Mellencamp shares difficult 'day to day decision' amid stage four cancer battle
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp has been battling stage four cancer after a melanoma diagnosis in 2022 metastasized, and has been updating fans on her journey Teddi Mellencamp has shared a poignant update on her fight against stage four cancer, detailing the intense emotional journey she's been on. In February, the podcast host disclosed that following a skin cancer diagnosis in 2022, doctors discovered 'multiple' tumors in her brain and lung. After enduring a harrowing brain surgery, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, aged 43, made a powerful appearance at a cancer benefit last week, choosing to forgo a wig and courageously display the scars from her recent surgeries. She has now opened up to her followers about how she decides whether to wear a wig or not, with her choice reflecting her mood on any given day. "The day to day decision of wig versus no wig. Crying days I tend to pick the wig," she shared on Instagram, posting a selfie where she dons a full blonde wig. Teddi highlighted the stark ups and downs of undergoing treatment for stage 4 brain and lung tumors, while also taking the opportunity to encourage her fans to get regular health checks. "The highs and lows of treatment for stage 4 brain and lung tumors are pretty extreme. Please go get your yearly checks," she implored. As the daughter of music legend John Mellencamp, she took the chance to remind everyone that it's melanoma awareness month, stressing the importance of scheduling check-ups and encouraging others to do the same. This heartfelt insight comes after Teddi gave an exclusive interview to where she described her life as 'devastating' and spoke openly about her stage four cancer diagnosis. The reality TV personality attended the Women's Cancer Research Fund's annual gala, An Unforgettable Evening, alongside her close friend Kylie Richards, where she opted to proudly show her bare head instead of wearing a wig. Revealing her head scars from the numerous medical procedures she's endured this year, she looked absolutely fabulous in a chic black suit paired with shimmering silver heels. During the event, she provided an update on her harrowing health journey and firmly addressed those who criticised her for continuing to ride horses amidst her treatment. "This is my first night out since I got out of the hospital," she declared. "I feel good. I know it feels really devastating right now, but everything – it gets better." Just last week, she shared some positive news that the tumors 'have shrunk a bunch' thanks to immunotherapy, with her medical team optimistic about the progress. The reality TV personality is gearing up for one final round of the innovative cancer therapy, which harnesses the power of the immune system to combat cancer cells, before her next major assessment on June 1. Teddi's health crisis brought her divorce proceedings to a temporary standstill, which started after she filed the necessary paperwork in late 2024.
