Tegan Bowie ‘delighted' to sign two-year contract extension

Tegan Bowie has signed a two-year contract extension with Hibernian Women. The 21-year-old has extended her stay with the Club until 2027 after playing a crucial role in Hibs ScottishPower Women's Premier League success. Bowie was pivotal to Hibs title triumph, starting 26 of her 29 league appearances while providing five goals and six assists in the league. Developed in the Hibs Girls Academy, ahe then moved to Celtic; helping the Hoops to a second-place finish during the 2020/21 season before securing her first senior Scotland squad call-up in November 2021. The winger re-joined Hibs in June 2023, becoming the fourth summer signing of returning Head Coach Grant Scott, and has gone on to make 65 appearances in total across two seasons as an essential member of our squad. After signing on for two more years, Tegan said: 'I'm delighted. It was never in doubt that I was going to sign. I'm just very happy. 'We have a good group of staff here that drive us to be better every day. It helps massively.' Hibs Women Head Coach Grant Scott added: 'We're delighted to secure Tegan for another two years. She's an exciting player who brings real attacking flair and freedom to our squad, the exact kind of player I like in my teams. 'I'd challenge her for more goals and assists but her long-term aim should be the Scotland 'A' Squad, that's how good she is. 'Despite being around for ages, she's still one of the best young talents in Scotland, so it's brilliant that she's staying here at Hibs.' Like this: Like Related

Highland Elementary School's annual pet parade expo is a huge hit

MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Families flocked to Highland Elementary School for their second annual pet parade expo. Since taking over the gifted program in 2022, Pathways teacher Jennifer Edwards has been trying to find creative ways for her students to showcase their talents. 'I had a lot of fun. It was really fun setting this up,' said Andrew Housley. The third graders were asked to showcase what pet they wanted to have. Pearl High School selected for NASA TechRise Challenge 'I wanted to provide the entire student body with something that they could be apart of with us,' said Edwards. 'The sky was the limit. We have everything from fennec foxes, a lion even. The kids get to come up with all kinds of wonderful ideas.' Ms. Edwards says for 12 weeks, the students built a portfolio of their future pets, created a 3d model and designed a pet toy. 'I really like arctic foxes. I want to have one maybe, but just for safety I might can't,' said Brooklyn Bailey. 'I feel that the lion would be the best pet for me because I like more majestic and exotic animals,' said Jermani Barnes. These Madison County students got a rare treat. They had the chance to get up close to some exotic animals from Full House Exotics in Brandon. 'We just love it,' said Tami Holliman, Owner of Full House Exotics. Tegan Harris says she's grateful that her dad showed up for her on this special day. 'For Tegan, her hard work, everything she does makes us really proud,' said Thomas Harris, Tegan's dad. 'It means so much to me because I like seeing him and talking to him every single day of my life as a child,' said Tegan. 'It's the best time ever that I've ever had at school,' said Housley. Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara calls for kindness and civility to end political division

Pop musician Sara Quin says social media has 'tragically torn the world to shreds' in recent years, and it's time people consider ways to re-establish a more positive sense of community. The Calgary-raised performer, who's part of the duo Tegan and Sara, says while she's certain some have found 'beautiful connection online,' she fears it's done more to 'ruin the world' and stoke political divisions. Quin was joined by her twin sister Tegan at Toronto's Departure Festival for a conversation about the Tegan and Sara Foundation, which they created in 2016 after the election of U.S. President Donald Trump. The foundation offers financial support to grassroots and community-based organizations such as youth summer camps, and helped create an LGBTQ2 health-care directory. 1:52 Tegan and Sara use Junos speech to call out policies affecting trans youth The sisters say they want to back initiatives that help build stronger communities, something that's become even more important to them in their mid-40s.
