Body of missing Assam woman, civil services aspirant, found in Rishikesh

Haridwar: Days after a female civil services aspirant from Assam's Dima Hasao district went missing at Shivpuri in Rishikesh , the body of the 25-year-old was found in the Ganga river in the city's Phoolchatti area on Tuesday morning. Police said a preliminary probe suggests she might have taken her own life as she was upset over her career. SSP (Tehri Garhwal) Ayush Agarwal said, "The body of the missing woman, Rosmita Hojoi, was recovered from the Ganga by an SDRF team. We did not find any external injury marks on her. The postmortem report is awaited. Prima facie, she took her own life. We found her Whatsapp chat details mentioning her career disappointments, and it seems she was unhappy about her performances. No suicide note was found, and further investigation is on. " The woman, who had travelled to Delhi for the Railway Recruitment Board exam, arrived in Rishikesh on June 6, with her friend Hemant Sharma and another man from the national capital. They stayed at a local hotel. Her friends reported that she went missing that night, and her parents filed a missing person's report the next day. SHO of Muni ki Reti, Pankaj Chauhan, said Sharma and the other man were elsewhere and unaware of her whereabouts, and subsequently alerted the authorities after a local resident purportedly witnessed the drowning incident in Shivpuri area, prompting the police to initiate a search operation in the river. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo After completing her engineering studies in Haryana, the woman started preparing for the civil services exam in Guwahati.
