HC moved to stop construction of OGH at Goshamahal Stadium
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court division bench of CJ Aparesh Kumar Singh and Justice GM Mohiuddin on Tuesday heard the plea filed by local yoga trainer Gundolu Ramu seeking to stop the government transferring the Goshamahal stadium along with other land to the Health department for construction of Osmania Hospital complex. Ramu wants GO 45 issued by the department, dated January 30,2025, set aside as illegal and unconstitutional, contrary to the zonal regulations of the master plan-2031 and provisions of Telangana Urban Areas (Development) Act,1975. Advocate-General A Sudarshan Reddy requested the court for a week to file a detailed counter-affidavit. Hearing in the case was adjourned to September 26.

High court notice to govt over OGH bldg at Goshamahal
The Telangana High Court has issued notices to the state government and related bodies regarding a PIL challenging the proposed construction of a new Osmania General Hospital at Goshamahal Stadium. HYDERABAd: A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara on Friday ordered notices to the state govt and various govt bodies while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the construction of the new Osmania General Hospital at the existing Goshamahal Stadium in the city. The petition was filed by Gundolu Ramu, a yoga trainer and social worker from Goshamahal. Ramu's counsel argued that in the layout, the stadium is declared as parkland and open spaces, and said any construction at such locations is contrary to the zonal regulations of master plan 2031 and the provisions of Telangana Urban Areas (Development) Act.
