Morcos heads to Marseille for Mediterranean Journalism Forum

NNA – Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, on Monday traveled to Marseille to take part in the Mediterranean Journalism Forum, which brings together journalists from the Mediterranean and Africa to discuss press freedom, fake news, and hate speech. Morcos will deliver a speech at the opening session, emphasizing Lebanon's commitment to press freedom and the need for impartial, accurate reporting. The forum will also honor L'Orient-Le Jour, represented by Chairwoman Nayla De Freige. During his visit, Morcos will meet Lebanese and international journalists and hold talks on supporting Lebanese media outlets, including Tele Liban, the National News Agency, and Radio Lebanon. Morcos will wrap up his visit with a meeting at the Lebanese Consulate in Marseille before returning to Beirut via Paris.

I briefed her on our needs and the kind of support we're seeking. She responded positively and expressed openness to collaboration.' He added, 'We look forward to a fruitful partnership.' Ambassador Haraldstad, for her part, congratulated Minister Morcos on his new role and expressed her appreciation for the exchange. Morcos discusses media cooperation with Omani, Italian Ambassadors

NNA - Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, on Wednesday met with Omani Ambassador to Lebanon, Ahmad ben Mohammad al-Saidi, at his office, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, particularly in the media sector, and explored ways to enhance collaboration. The discussions also covered potential support for Tele Liban across various levels. Morcos later received Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Fabrizio Marcelli, describing their meeting as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between Lebanon and Italy, especially in the media field. Morcos proposed ideas to advance this collaboration, particularly with Tele Liban. "We agreed to hold further meetings to develop additional ideas beyond those discussed today," Morcos stated after the meeting. For his part, Ambassador Marcelli reaffirmed Italy's commitment to fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Information, announcing that efforts are underway to provide Tele Liban with Italian programming. He emphasized that discussions would continue to achieve meaningful progress in media collaboration.
