The Open Platform, the leading tech company developing TON-based innovations in Telegram, has announced the completion of its Series A and subsequent extension funding rounds, reaching a $1 billion valuation and becoming the first unicorn in the TON-based ecosystem in Telegram. The Open Platform raised $28.5 million in an extended Series A funding round, led by Ribbit Capital, with Pantera Capital also participating. Including this latest raise and previous seed investments, The Open Platform has now secured over $70 million in total funding. These investments demonstrate the confidence that leading investors have in The Open Platform's ability to spearhead the growth of the blockchain ecosystem in Telegram. This ecosystem is being built on TON Blockchain – a fully decentralized and highly scalable blockchain that is the exclusive blockchain partner of Telegram Messenger. The current strategic focus of The Open Platform centers on geographical expansion. The involvement of prominent investors, along with the newly raised capital, will support the launch of TOP's portfolio companies across the U.S., EU, and other key regions — in alignment with TON Foundation's global vision. This expansion will involve significant investment in go-to-market strategies, regulatory licensing, compliance infrastructure, and security enhancements, all aimed at ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success in these new jurisdictions. Andrew Rogozov, CEO and Founder of The Open Platform, said, 'This investment supports our long-term strategy to scale the adoption of blockchain-based products by leveraging the power of Telegram as a distribution channel. By combining TON Blockchain with Telegram's global reach, we're building both the infrastructure and the consumer-facing apps needed to onboard a billion users to crypto.' The Open Platform is driving the growth of the TON-based ecosystem within Telegram, building both core infrastructure and consumer-facing apps across finance, gaming, and entertainment. Products that The Open Platform has powered include Wallet in Telegram, a digital asset solution seamlessly embedded into Telegram's interface; Tonkeeper, TON's leading non-custodial crypto wallet; the leading swap dApp on TON and the developer of a liquidity aggregation protocol, Omniston; Getgems, TON's foremost NFT marketplace; Tribute, a monetization platform for creators in Telegram; and Notcoin, a viral Tap-to-Earn game, along with many more products. By integrating blockchain technology into everyday digital experience, The Open Platform is creating a seamless, scalable platform designed for a billion users, accelerating the mainstream adoption of crypto — expanding global access to financial services, and enabling a new generation of builders and developers to build the next wave of consumer dApps. This latest investment from Ribbit Capital, which has previously provided early-stage investment to Coinbase, Nubank, and Revolut, amongst many others, and Pantera Capital, is a testament to the potential these investors see in the integration of blockchain technology into a messenger application with over a billion users. Micky Malka, Founder of Ribbit Capital, said, "We back teams that reimagine how the world experiences money and technology. Bubblemaps Integrates with TON, Enhancing Transparency in Telegram's Native Blockchain Ecosystem

Paris, France, June 19th, 2025, Chainwire Bubblemaps Launches on TON, Bringing Visual Onchain Analytics to Telegram's Native Blockchain Bubblemaps, the leading InfoFi analytics company, has announced that it has integrated TON, unlocking real-time visual analytics for one of the fastest-growing web3 ecosystems. Starting on June 19th, users can explore token activity across TON's network from memecoins to Telegram-native apps through a Bubblemaps onchain interface. The integration of TON marks the 8th network supported by Bubblemaps V2. As TON gains traction with over 500k daily active addresses and rising attention from Telegram's massive user base, the need for accessible and transparent analytics has never been clearer. 'TON is a unique case,' said Nicolas Vaiman, CEO of Bubblemaps. 'It's not just another chain; it's backed by one of the largest messaging platforms in the world. The scale is massive, and so is the opportunity for both builders and traders. That's why we're bringing Bubblemaps V2 to TON, to help make the network's activity more accessible and easier to follow for everyone.' TON has evolved into one of the largest blockchains with more than 40M wallets and over 2M daily transactions. Its deep integration into Telegram Messenger, where it powers thousands of Mini Apps, has made it part of daily life for millions of crypto users. Despite TON's rapid expansion, visual on-chain analytics remain limited. Bubblemaps' InfoFi solution makes this information easy to interpret. Bubblemaps brings innovative visual analytics to TON, unlocking wallet and token transparency for Telegram-native assets. This integration brings TON users and developers the insights they need to make informed decisions about tokens, assets, and applications launching across the network. It brings TON an unprecedented level of transparency while enhancing usability. 'Privacy is a right and transparency builds trust," said Glenn Brown, VP of Business Development at TON Foundation. 'These two values aren't in conflict, they complete each other. As TON grows, tools that let the community understand on-chain activity without compromising user freedom will be key.' The launch also strengthens Bubblemaps' position as a key player in the growing InfoFi space, a crypto layer where information is just as valuable as capital. As markets become increasingly driven by attention and narratives, the ability to visualize and understand token activity adds a financial edge. Bubblemaps is helping shape this space by making hidden on-chain data readable and actionable in real-time. Thanks to the integration, TON users have access to the full suite of Bubblemaps V2 features, including Magic Nodes, which reveal hidden links between addresses – from funding sources to insider clusters – and Time Travel, which allows users to explore how token distributions evolve over time. As TON continues to onboard new users and tokens at record speed, Bubblemaps is helping enhance the ecosystem's visibility and making it easier to navigate for newcomers and experienced traders alike. Bubblemaps is the new onchain intelligence layer—turning raw blockchain data into clear, visual insights. Traders, funds, and analysts use it to track wallets, detect manipulation, and spot token flows early.

Perth child groomer 'Dangerous Dave' gets nine-year extended sentence

A notorious Perth paedophile who referred to himself as Dangerous Dave has been handed a nine year extended sentence for grooming a schoolboy on the other side of the world. Serial sex offender David Greig sent explicit selfies to his 13-year-old victim using the Telegram social media app. Police uncovered the chat log on the 46-year-old's computer devices at his Perth home, along with horrific images of babies being raped by adults. Greig appeared at Perth Sheriff Court for sentencing, having previously admitted this, his third sexual offence. He was told jail was the only option. Protection from public harm Solicitor David Sinclair, defending, said his client had been recommended for the Moving Forward: Making Changes rehabilitation programme for sex offenders. He highlighted Greig's previous Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SOPO) had expired in April 2024, some time before the indecent images and chat came to light. 'His initial offences were of contact nature,' said Mr Sinclair. 'Now we are in the region of semi-contact, in that he was communicating indecently with an apparently underage person.' Mr Sinclair said: 'Mr Greig was in a road accident when he was a young boy and this matter appears to have gone undiagnosed throughout his childhood.' David Greig at an earlier court hearing He said his client struggled to form healthy relationships and 'find his role in society.' 'No real alternative' Sheriff William Wood told Greig: 'Unfortunately for you, there is no getting away from your previous convictions. 'This is the third time you've come to court in respect of sexual offences, and as a result there is no real alternative to a custodial sentence.' The sheriff added: 'You have to understand that simply possessing indecent photos of children contributes to the continued industry and contributes to the ongoing abuse of children. 'Clearly that is a reprehensible thing that the public must be protect from. 'And it is of further concern that you had a discussion with a person online who disclosed they were a child, yet you continued with this highly sexualised conversation.' Greig admitted grooming a 13-year-old boy in November last year. He further pled guilty to downloading indecent images of children between July 14 and November 6 2024. Sheriff Wood said: 'I am concerned that the public needs to be adequately protected against serious harm once you are released. 'For that reason, I am going to pass on you an extended sentence.' Greig was jailed for four years and will be on licence for five more after he is out of prison. He will be subject to the sex offenders register and the sexual harm prevention order indefinitely. Laptop discovery Fiscal depute Emma Farmer earlier told the court police investigated after receiving a tip-off indecent images had been downloaded to Greig's laptop and phone. 'The Telegram Messenger app had been installed and the search indicated indecent communications had taken place, and images and videos were found on both devices,' she said. The material included footage of children as young as six months old being sexually assaulted. In the Telegram chat, Greig's victim – 'who resided an eight-hour time difference away' – told him he was 13. 'The conversation was sexually explicit throughout,' said Ms Farmer. Greig sent the boy photos and videos of himself exposing his penis and carrying out a solo sex act. The court previously heard how the offender, who set up a Skype account under the name Dangerous Dave, had traded hours of sickening child abuse footage on the internet. For that, he was jailed for three years. For more local court content visit our page or join us on Facebook.
