Rowing club awarded £17k grant to expand activities
A rowing club has received a funding boost to help expand its activities and reach more people in the community.
Tenby Rowing Club has been awarded a £17,736 grant from Sport Wales' Be Active Wales Fund, supported by National Lottery funding.
The money will be used to buy a new Celtic longboat, a trailer, and support training for club members.
Jane Haigh, club captain, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to receive this funding.
"It's a real game changer for us.
"The new boat, trailer, and training will help us grow even more and give more people the chance to get involved.
"It's all about making rowing accessible, fun, and part of our community."
The club, reformed in 2024, now has around 50 members and is preparing for the start of the 2025 race season.
There are plans to bring an event to Tenby in 2026.
