Wet and wild water fun at Tenby Firefighters' Carnival

The town's firefighters, who organise the fundraising event, were met with huge cheers in the town's packed Tudor Square as they unleashed the power of their hose reel jets on the crowds. Spectators came prepared with giant water-pistols, water balloons and even buckets of the stuff in their attempts to retaliate. A junior firefighter gets his revenge! (Image: Gareth Davies Photography) After fifteen minutes of mayhem, the carnival continued on its way to the harbour for prize-giving, leaving behind exhilarated and soaking wet crowds. (Image: Gareth Davies Photography) Earlier, South Parade was lined with spectators as the carnival set off from the station yard at 5.15pm, with an HM Coastguard vehicle and a fire engine leading the way. The Carnival Queen and her attendants were sitting pretty. (Image: Gareth Davies Photography) Two flower-bedecked floats carrying the Carnival Queen, the Carnival Princess and their attendants were followed by Samba Doc, strutting in their own high-energy percussion parade. (Image: Gareth Davies Photography) The carnival, a Tenby tradition dating back more than a century, always raises funds for the Firefighters Charity. Firefighters were given a helping hand with their fundraising by the town's lifeboat crews and coastguard team - plus little helpers. (Image: Gareth Davies Photography) Tenby Fire Station opened its doors at 10.30am on the morning of the event with attractions including fire safety demonstrations, rides, stalls, refreshments and a grand raffle.
