Expedite work on elevated road at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi, says MLA
Hubballi-Dharwad Central MLA Mahesh Tenginakai has directed the officials concerned and the contractor to take further steps to expedite work on the elevated road at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi.
Mr. Tenginakai, who reviewed the progress of the ongoing work in Hubballi on Wednesday, said that while comparatively the pace of the work has gained momentum, there is a need for further increase in the pace of the work.
He said that he last reviewed the work 22 days ago and now, he can see that the pace of the work has increased. 'On July 7, when I reviewed the progress of work, 36 girders were installed and today (July 30), work on 61 girders has been completed on the Chennamma Circle to Basava Vana stretch,' he said.
The MLA said that keeping in mind the fast-approaching Ganesh festival, the officials and the contractors should increase the pace of the work by employing more workers.
Mr. Tenginakai said that he will direct the officials to take up road repair work wherever work on the elevated road has been completed. He said that he will review the work again after 20 days.
Honorary secretary of the Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Ravindra Baligar said that they are satisfied with the increased pace of work and hoped that it will be completed soon.
Shopkeepers and hotel owners also expressed satisfaction over the pace of work.
Various officials, including Satish Naganur, Ramesh Navali, and others briefed the MLA about the project during his visit.
