2025 NFL Draft profile: Texas OT Cameron Williams

Texas Longhorns offensive tackle Cameron Williams, a junior from Duncanville and the everyday right tackle on the Joe Moore Award finalist group this past season is set to hear his name called at the 2025 NFL Draft. Williams arrived on the Forty Acres after decommitting from Oregon as a raw prospect with the size to be great, ranked as a consensus four-star prospect and the No. 407 player nationally and the No. 35 tackle, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Advertisement After being used sparingly in his first two seasons behind Christian Jones, Williams started 15 games this past season at right tackle. Williams possesses elite size, standing at 6'5. After arriving on campus at 360 pounds, Williams has transformed his body into a more mobile and muscular build, weighing 335 pounds this past season and dropping as low as 317 pounds at the NFL Combine in February. Williams' size and length excite NFL teams throughout the league. His physical stature and strength directly project to the next level. In addition, he has power that jumps off the tape. Throughout the season, Williams' status as a prospect reached peaks and valleys. During the heightened frenzy around his size-length ratio, Williams was being projected as a first-round pick and top-five offensive tackle. Advertisement While Williams remains one of the most physically-gifted tackles in the class, NFL scouts have concerns about his quickness, technique, and bend. Williams is still young and has room to grow, but he consistently allowed speed rushers to beat him off the ball — while he shows flashes of great upside, his technique doesn't consistently demonstrate these abilities. He also struggled with penalties throughout the season, committing 16, the second-most among all offensive linemen in the FBS. Williams also had a difficult pre-draft process — he wasn't able to go through any testing at the combine or at the Texas Pro Day because of the knee injury he sustained against Clemson in the first round of the College Football Playoff. in fact, although Williams played against Ohio State in the semifinals, allowing sacks on two critical plays on the goal line after the ill-fated toss play on second and goal, he told the media at pro day that he was still only at 80 percent months after the season ended. Like any prospect, Williams has strengths and weaknesses. While size and a mean streak can't be taught, they are not enough to survive in the NFL. As a rookie, Williams will be best served in an offense where the ball is being released quickly and he can minimize extended drops against speed ends. In addition, Williams will greatly benefit from an NFL team where he can develop his technique early in his career to fully unlock his potential later on. Advertisement NFL coaching staffs will undoubtedly value his elite size and length, although Williams' ability to stop power rushers is enticing and NFL teams understand that he needs time to continue to develop. BREAKING: Former Texas Longhorn RB Jaydon Blue drafted by the Dallas Cowboys

BREAKING: Former Texas Longhorn RB Jaydon Blue drafted by the Dallas Cowboys Former Texas Longhorns running back Jaydon Blue has been drafted by the Dallas Cowboys. The Houston native was taken 149th in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The 5'9, 196-pound back's main attribute is speed. Blue ran a 4.38 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine despite a hamstring injury and then a more indicative 4.30 at the Texas Pro Day. While inconsistent in 2024, Blue flashed his speed throughout the season, including game-changing touchdowns against Clemson and Ohio State. At Texas, Blue rushed for 1,161 yards and 11 touchdowns on 214 carries alongside 56 receptions for 503 yards and seven touchdowns. Blue's receiving ability is a huge asset for the Cowboys. Many NFL scouts like the fact that Blue has been a backup much of his career in Austin, thus reducing the wear and tear many starting running backs get in college. Blue's relatively low amount of carries should give him fresh legs at the next level. Follow us on X/Twitter at @LonghornsWire.

5 reasons why Philadelphia should be excited about drafting Longhorns DB Andrew Mukuba

5 reasons why Philadelphia should be excited about drafting Longhorns DB Andrew Mukuba Andrew Mukuba is now a Philadelphia Eagle The former Longhorns defensive back was picked 64th in the second round of the NFL Draft. Mukuba is the 5th Texas Ex taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. Here are five reasons the Eagles should be excited to have Mukuba on their roster: Desire to Improve Mukuba left his hometown of Austin for Clemson after high school. The DB spent three seasons in South Carolina, earning Freshman All-American and ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year. But something was missing. Mukuba didn't think he was getting any better. 'I felt like I wasn't getting better,' Mukuba said on Alex Okafor's 'Behind the Facemask' podcast. 'I wasn't being pushed enough where I could reach my potential and my peak.' In his one season at Texas, Mukuba totaled 69 tackles, four tackles for loss, five interceptions, and 11 passes defended. Good Reads At safety, Mukuba showed awareness and athleticism to accurately survey the field before making decisive plays. He operates best when he has the opportunity to read the quarterback and react. Versatility Mukuba has played across the secondary during his college career. He has played nickel and free safety and worked out at cornerback during the Texas Pro Day. Physicality While the Austin native excels at the mental aspect of the game, he's also very physical. A physical tackler, Mukuba isn't afraid to get downhill and fill the alley. Follow us on X/Twitter at @LonghornsWire.

Broncos set top 30 visit with Longhorns defensive tackle

Broncos set top 30 visit with Longhorns defensive tackle Vernon Broughton preparing for Broncos visit The Denver Broncos are looking to add to their defense in the draft and are turning to a former Longhorn. Next week, they will reportedly host Vernon Broughton on a top-30 visit, according to The Denver Post's Lucas Evans. Before entering the NFL Draft, Broughton had one of the best seasons of his college career. During the 2024 campaign, Broughton appeared in 16 games and was reliable on the defensive line. The Houston native set career highs in total tackles with 39, sacks with four, and pass defection with two. It marked the first season that he appeared in more than 14 games. After a career year, Broughton was unable to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine and the Texas Pro Day due to a quad strain suffered prior. With the visit, Denver will see Broughton up close and learn more about the talented defensive end. Due to the number of their pending free agents at that position, adding depth in the draft will be important. At the moment, Broughton is projected to be a day-three pick. He was a rotational player for most of his career at Texas before getting a bump in playing time. He took advantage of the opportunity and is now getting a lot of attention as teams finalize their draft boards. Regardless of where Broughton is drafted, he would make sense for many teams. He improved each year With the Longhorns, resulting in higher snap counts. If that continues at the pro level, he could develop into a promising rotational player in the NFL. If He ends up in Denver, Broughton will provide competition for Eyioma Uwazurike and Matt Henningsen. The draft is scheduled to be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on April 24-26.

Report: Aaron Glenn among big Jets presence at one college Pro Day

Report: Aaron Glenn among big Jets presence at one college Pro Day The New York Jets have had a noteworthy follow-up meeting, of sorts, with Quinn Ewers. Ewers is a 2025 NFL draft prospect from the University at Texas. The quarterback position will always grab more eyes than others, and this is the case here. The Jets had plenty of the team's front office at the Texas Pro Day last week. Included in that bunch was head coach Aaron Glenn, according to a report from ESPN. A team showing up to a Pro Day is not surprising. A big name from the staff, such as the head coach, is noteworthy: Doubling the interest in Glenn taking part in the Pro Day is the reporting that Ewers had a ee prior to the Pro Day. That indicates some pretty serious interest New York has in the QB. Ewers put up a productive campaign in 2024, leading the NCAA with 31 touchdown passes. The junior had 3,472 passing yards and completed 65.8 percent of his passes as well. has a mixed draft profile on Ewers. His arm talent is praised but his consistency is knocked. The Draft Network considers him a Day 2 pick at the upcoming draft. Despite signing Justin Fields during the first wave of free agency, he only inked a two-year deal in New York. Ewers or another potential 2025 QB prospect could end up being a longer-term solution for the team as opposed to Fields. Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2025 offseason.
