US singer Tank withdraws from Ndala Mall opening as the event gets postponed
Just as fans were getting excited about American singer Tank coming to South Africa next month, he has announced that he's not coming due to unforeseen circumstances and business deals 'falling apart'.
The event was pencilled to take place this weekend on August 1 and 2 at the Ndlala Arena in Tshwane.
In a video posted on his Instagram account, the Grammy-nominated star said it was due to 'business' that he couldn't come to fulfil his obligation.
'As much as I was looking forward to performing for you guys, it's been over ten years. I was super excited. Some things have fallen apart business-wise. Firstly, I want to apologise to you, my fans and all the people who were making plans to pull up and enjoy the R&B music. Due to the business falling apart, I won't be able to fulfil my obligation to you. I sincerely apologise,' he said.
' Hopefully, things can be resolved and I can be there.'
The heartthrob was going to headline the opening of Ndlala Mall in the capital city.
However, he did hint that he could soon be making his way to Mzansi, saying, 'I love going out there and performing R&B music for people, it's what I do.'
It remains to be seen whether he'll make a U-turn on his decision at a later stage.

The opening of the mall has been altogether moved to August 23.
Media personality Lerato Kganyago's husband, Thami Ndala, who is the CEO of the mall, had previously expressed to Drum that he was excited about the mall's opening, emphasising that he was happy because the opening would mark an 'era' for the Tshwane community.
However, he has postponed the opening ceremony to a later date.
He maintains that the event will indeed take place, featuring a lineup of artists, with the headlining act to be announced soon.
Publicity Manager of the event, Priscilla Malinga, has insisted to Drum that there's nothing sinister about Tank not being able to come to the event and the postponement of the opening of the mall.
She promised that soon a new line-up would be made known. 'A new line-up of artists and a headlining act will be announced next week,' she told Drum.
