Perrie Edwards still cries over Jesy Nelson 5 years after leaving Little Mix

Perrie Edwards has admitted that she still sheds tears over Jesy Nelson's decision to leave Little Mix, despite it being five years since her bandmate's dramatic exit. The former pop duo are no longer on speaking terms after the split. Perrie, 31, has now compared the pain of losing a bandmate to one not too dissimilar to losing a loved one. She spoke candidly when admitting she 'grieved' the loss of Jesy after her shocking decision to leave in 2020 due to mental health struggles. The star appeared on Alison Hammond's new BBC show, where she spilled the gossip on her feelings towards her ex-best friend. Speaking to the TV personality, Perrie expressed: 'We talk about it a lot, but I think in the moment we did everything we could, so some things just happen.' The mum-of-one went on to admit: 'It is really sad; we haven't spoken since she left.' The pair met back in 2011 when Simon Cowell picked them to form a group on The X Factor, alongside Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirwall, going on to become one of the world's most successful girl groups. Little Mix announced an indefinite hiatus in 2021, with each member pursuing solo careers while also focusing on family life. Perrie and Leigh-Anne both gave birth in August 2021, with their babies arriving just days apart. Perrie has since launched her solo music career, with her first solo single, Forget About Us, reaching number 10 in the UK Singles Chart. Meanwhile, alongside her music, Leigh-Anne made her acting debut in the festive 2021 movie Boxing Day. More Trending Jade signed with RCA Records to release her own music ahead of her first solo tour ,titled That's Showbiz Baby!, which begins in October of this year and accompanies her debut solo album of the same name. Jesy has released two solo tracks since her decision to leave the band, with her debut single Boyz garnering major backlash online and prompting her to rethink the direction of her solo career. The ex member is currently on a break from making music as she is expecting twins with her rapper boyfriend, Zion Foster. Jesy, 33, has had a tough pregnancy so far, having recently been diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) and being in and out of hospital with the condition. Got a story? Jade announces debut solo album That's Showbiz Baby! and first headline tour

Jade will release her debut solo album, 'That's Showbiz Baby!', on September 12. The former Little Mix star has unveiled her first full body of work and announced her first solo UK and Ireland tour, which will take place this October and November. The 'Angel of My Dreams' singer worked with huge names, including Mike Sabath, Lostboy, Cirkut, RAYE and Pablo Bowman on the collection. The tour includes stops in Dublin, Belfast, Brighton, Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle, before wrapping at London's iconic Roundhouse. Jade said: "This album has been years in the making, so I'm beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it's coming out. I'm very proud of 'That's Showbiz Baby!' as a body of work and can't wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!" The album's title is poignant as Jade recently admitted she possibly "sold her soul" for fame. The 32-year-old pop star was in her late teens when she won the UK version of 'The X Factor' alongside Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jesy Nelson as part of Little Mix, but admitted that she just "signed on the dotted line" without really thinking about it. Speaking on an episode of 'The Assembly' - in which all questions are asked by neurodivergent individuals - she was asked whether she felt as if she had "sold her soul" and replied: "You've trumped me ... Maybe a little bit in the beginning. "I was so young and I just signed on the dotted line. 'But as the years have gone by I've learned more and more about the industry. 'I've been collecting — a bit like [Marvel superhero] Thanos with the stones — I've been collecting parts of my soul back as I've gained more creative freedom." The 'IT Girl' hitmaker also admitted that she thinks the kind of way in which she became famous has been and gone but she is not entirely sure that music mogul Simon Cowell - who created 'The X Factor' and the 'Got Talent' franchises, and also headed up Syco Music - is going anywhere. She said: "I think it's the end of that kind of TV show or music label. "I think it's the end of that era. 'But I don't know if Simon Cowell specifically has ended.' It was suggested previously that the lyric 'sold my soul to a psycho' from her 'Angel of my Dreams' track was a dig at Simon but Jade later clarified in an interview that that was not necessarily the case. She told Beat magazine: 'It's not specifically about that. 'But I wanted the song to be my journey, from entering the music business to now, and what that's felt like. That's why the song feels so chaotic. 'The opening is like the music to that montage bit on The X Factor after you've won, and you're just catapulted into the industry.' She added: 'I don't want to sit here and bash the last 13 years of my life. I'm very happy and content. But like with any job, there are highs and lows. That's just life, and it's my reality, but it's about writing it in a way that's not woe is me.' Pre-orders for 'Showbiz Baby!' are live now at Fans can pre-order any format from Jade's UK store by May 20 at 5pm UK to gain early pre-sale ticket access for the tour. Little Mix star Jade announces Dublin gig at 3Olympia this year

The BRIT Award winner, who had her start with The X Factor winning girl band Little Mix, will take to the stage of the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on October 8. It will come just weeks after the release of her hugely anticipated debut solo album, That's Showbiz Baby!, which is set to feature collaborations with RAYE, Lostboy and others. Tickets for her Dublin gig are set to go on sale Friday 23 May at 10am from Ticketmaster, with tickets priced from €37.65. "This album has been years in the making, so I'm beyond excited that I can finally let everyone know when it's coming out,' the singer said. "I'm very proud of That's Showbiz Baby! as a body of work and can't wait to share it with the world. To be able to perform the album live later this year is also a dream come true. See you all on tour!" She was placed into girl group Little Mix after she auditioned for The X Factor in 2011, joining Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson, with the group going on to become the first and only girl group to ever win the UK series. The group went on hiatus in December 2021 following a hugely successful career with multiple chart-topping hits like 'Wings' and 'Shout Out to My Ex'. Jade Thirwall, who shortened her stage name to 'Jade' upon launching her solo career, won the BRIT Award for best pop act this year and performed her hit song 'Angel of My Dreams', which samples Sandie Shaw's Eurovision winning song 'Puppet on a String'. The song was named a top ten song of last year by The Guardian, DORK, Clash and NME and has accumulated over 100 million streams to date. The music video has been streamed 12 million times on YouTube, while her performance of the song at the BRIT Awards has been watched over two million times. She is set to perform at a variety of festivals this summer including Glastonbury, All Points East, Mighty Hoopla, TRNSMT and the Montreux Jazz festival in Switzerland.
