3 Rams rank in the top-10 of most pressures by a rookie since 2020
3 Rams rank in the top-10 of most pressures by a rookie since 2020 The Los Angeles Rams have drafted well on defense in the past five seasons. Between Braden Fiske, Kobie Turner, Byron Young and 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse, the Rams have a fantastic core of defensive lineman for Chris Shula to work with for foreseeable future. Most of that group has especially been great at generating pressures on opposing quarterbacks. Verse, Fiske and Young have generated three of the top-8 most pressures for a rookie since 2020, per The 33rd Team. Verse ranks No. 1 with 77 this past season, while Fiske's 51 finished tied for sixth and Young's 50 in 2023 ranks eighth. This group proved their ability early in their careers, and the hope for L.A. is now is that they can continue to develop into star players. The Rams focused on offense throughout free agency and the draft likely because they feel confident they can rely on their young defenders. With another offseason upcoming, this group should be able to coalesce together and bring the heat against quarterbacks in a pivotal 2025 season.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford is the only over-30 player to rank top-10 in this stat
Rams QB Matthew Stafford is the only over-30 player to rank top-10 in this stat Matthew Stafford has proven to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL during his career, but especially when he joined the Los Angeles Rams in 2021. Not only did he win a Super Bowl, but Stafford has also thrown for at least 3,700 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in the three seasons he played at least 10 games. One area he especially excelled at during 2024 was throwing downfield. Stafford ranked sixth in the NFL this past season in with 15% of his throws going for at least 16 yards downfield, per The 33rd Team. This is great for Stafford, but even better that ever other player on this list is under 30 years old, whereas Stafford is 37. Here is the full list: Brock Purdy: 18.4% Lamar Jackson: 16.8% C.J. Stroud: 16.0% Jared Goff: 15.2% Tua Tagovailoa: 15.2% Matthew Stafford: 15.0% Josh Allen: 14.7% Baker Mayfield: 14.6% Jordan Love: 14.5% This is perhaps why Stafford finished the season with ninth with 2,036 completed air yards in 2024. Stafford may be older, but he still has his arm strength. The Rams now replace Cooper Kupp with Davante Adams, who was more prolific, less injured and had a higher average depth of target than Kupp. Puka Nacua is also one of the best receivers in the league in yards per route run and also had a great average depth of target than Kupp. For a Rams team looking to compete for a Super Bowl in 2025, having a fully-loaded Stafford arm is a huge weapon to lean on with the rest of the team's offensive skill players.

Rams WR Puka Nacua ranked No. 1 in yards per route run in three categories in 2024
Rams WR Puka Nacua ranked No. 1 in yards per route run in three categories in 2024 Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua is only entering his third season but he's already established himself as one of the young pass-catchers in the NFL. Not only has be finished with at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first two seasons, but he's been one of the most reliable target for Matthew Stafford on four specific routes. Per The 33rd Team, Nacua ranked first or second in yards per route run in 2024 against man or zone coverage. He also finished No. 1 in yards per route run from the slot and from out wide this past season: Nacua vs. Man: 3.85 yards per route run (second) Nacua vs. Zone: 3.64 yards per route run (first) Nacua from the slot: 3.56 yards per route run (first) Nacua from out wide: 3.55 yards per route run (first) This is an impressive list to be on considering the other players around him. A.J. Brown and Ja'Marr Chase have been two of the best receivers in the league over the past few years, while Nico Collins emerged as a top-flight receiver recently and Brian Thomas Jr. finished third in receiving yards as a rookie. Not only will Nacua continue to catch passes from Stafford in 2025, but he'll also have Davante Adams alongside him as someone who can also attract defensive backs and also give Nacua a teammate to play off of. Nacua is only in Year 3 but could continue to put his stamp on the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals mock draft roundup: What are the analysts predicting?
April is right around the corner which means it's almost the month of the draft. In less than four weeks, the mock drafts will end and the real draft will start and we'll actually start putting players to teams for real. For now, we're still in mock draft mode, so let's take another look at some recent mock drafts and who could potentially be the pick at No. 17 for the Cincinnati Bengals. Jarrett Bailey, Touchdown Wire: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall "The Bengals are set to take another receiver when Trey Hendrickson walks in, rips the card in half, and threatens to sue the Bengals organization if they don't take a defender who can contribute. Now in a bind, Duke Tobin selects Green." "It looks like the Bengals might be able to keep Trey Hendrickson, but that wouldn't stop me from adding to the defensive front. Cincinnati has met with Mike Green at the NFL Combine, and he'd be a great addition to their team. If the Bengals are comfortable with his previous off-the-field red flags, Green's dominant tape is worthy of a top-20 pick." Tyler Brooke, The 33rd Team: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia "After paying big bucks to Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Bengals just need to find good football players on defense. Advertisement "Malaki Starks is an elite safety prospect who checks a lot of boxes as an instinctive field general in the secondary, which is something the defense could really use if they're able to hold onto Trey Hendrickson as a star pass rusher." Ian Valentino, The 33rd Team: Kelvin Banks, OL, Texas "Sliding Jeanty into this offensive core would be a dream come true, but how can Cincinnati continue to brazenly undervalue its offensive line? "The team could stand to upgrade multiple interior blocker spots in this class. Kelvin Banks was a tackle at Texas but profiles as an excellent guard candidate as he develops his hand placement and consistency. His movement traits and raw power are fantastic." Geoff Schwartz, FOX Sports: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall "Whether Trey Hendrickson plays for the Bengals this season or departs, the Bengals need to keep improving the pass rush. Green's testing matched his high-energy play and there's a lot of excitement for Green's future in the NFL. " "Teams must fully vet Green's background, but on the field, he's a ready-made pass-rush talent who has boosted his profile significantly over the past eight months. He's not the longest, thickest pass rusher in the class, but Green plays full tilt and has an arsenal of moves to get home." "The Bengals go best player available here with Starks, and he'll help to rebuild the secondary in Cincinnati." New York Giants make shocking selection in latest The 33rd Team mock draft
New York Giants make shocking selection in latest The 33rd Team mock draft When the New York Giants are put on the clock at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL draft, many expect them to choose one of four players if they don't trade down: Miami quarterback Cam Ward, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter, or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter. At least two of those four are likely to be off the board, with Ward almost certainly going first overall to the Tennessee Titans. But in the latest mock draft from The 33rd Team, analyst Ian Valentino sees them passing on both Sanders and Carter in favor of a new offensive lineman. Selection: Armand Membou, OL, Missouri It seems unfathomable New York would pass on Shedeur Sanders because of Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but it's something ESPN's Adam Schefter believes happens. We'll roll with that, and if it happens, the Giants will go with Armand Membou. Membou has the traits and play style to be their version of Tristan Wirfs, even if he's a raw prospect. Passing on Sanders is a realistic outcome, but passing on Carter? Not so much. Either way, some view Membou as OT1 over Will Campbell, but that is not a universal opinion. The 6-foot-4, 332-pound Lee's Summit native is viewed as a Day 1 starter and a plus-player after two years of development. NFL Network's Lance Zierlein gives Membou an NFL comparison of Zach Tom. Young, talented prospect whose lack of NFL-tackle size will test teams' willingness to make exceptions to their standards. Membou plays with composed quickness and elite body control. He delivers good pop on contact and has the range to spring runs with blocks in space. Footwork and core strength fuel stick-block sustain, but he can be outreached by edge-setters. His pass sets are technically sound, and he processes twists and blitzes quickly. Membou plays with a varied pass-set strategy and crafty hands to stymie rush momentum, but teams will have to live with long-armed rushers collapsing the pocket on him at times. Hands and feet work in unison to mirror speed and edge-to-edge rush challenges. He's still growing into his frame but his game boasts unusual maturity. Membou's potential impact at a premium position should keep him at tackle, but he has outstanding potential regardless. Although Membou would represent an immediate upgrade, allowing Jermaine Eluemunor to shift back inside, it's hard to envision the Giants going this route after re-signing guards Greg Van Roten and Aaron Stinnie, and signing tackles James Hudson and Stone Forsythe in free agency. All while passing on Carter, who some view as the top prospect in the entire draft class.
