Virginia Tech students helping in Hurricane Helene clean-up during Spring Break
AUGUSTA (WJBF) – The Ryan Clark Scholarship is pleased to announce that students from Virginia Tech will be in Augusta the week of March 8 – 15 helping with residentsclean up debris after Hurricane Helene.
The students are on Spring Break and have graciously given up their time to help those in need.
This effort directly aligns with The Ryan Clark Scholarship's mission to honor the legacy of RyanClark through community service based scholarships.
The Ryan Clark Scholarship was founded in 2008 after the Virginia Tech Massacre on April 16, 2007, where Ryan Clark, a Lakeside High School Graduate and Graduating Senior at Virginia Tech, was killed amongst 31 other heroes.
Ms. Letitie Clark, the mother of Ryan Clark and the Founder of The Ryan Clark Scholarship andCommunity Service Award, will be visiting the worksites on Tuesday March 11th, at 9:30 amto address the student volunteers.
This volunteering also correlates with The 5th Annual Run for Ryan 5K Run/Walk at LakesideHigh School on Saturday March 15th.
