Browns set to keep all four QBs according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

While the Cleveland Browns' quarterback room seems crowded now, one NFL insider doesn't expect much downsizing at the position heading into the regular season. ESPN's Adam Schefter shared on Tuesday's edition of The Adam Schefter Podcast that he believes the Browns are "more likely than not" to carry four quarterbacks on their initial 53-man roster. Veteran quarterback Joe Flacco and both rookie quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, will make the Browns' roster, Schefter believes. That leaves one spot for Kenny Pickett and newly-acquired Tyler Huntley to battle over, and Schefter thinks Pickett might be a more valuable asset for the Browns to have on their roster: 'Kenny Pickett is still young. Kenny Pickett is a former first-round draft pick. Kenny Pickett is a quarterback. Teams that have a need at that position, if they have an injury, you would think that one of the first teams they would call would be the Cleveland Browns.' Schefter's prediction comes on the heels of news that only Sanders and Huntley are likely to get snaps at quarterback in Friday's preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers. So while Sanders' first NFL snaps will be this weekend's biggest story, perhaps this also presents an opportunity for Huntley to close the gap in the race for the final quarterback spot on the Browns' roster. Robert Kraft makes promise to Patriots fans after three losing seasons

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft made a promise to fans ahead of the 2025 NFL season. That promise comes on the heels of the team hiring Mike Vrabel as its new head coach and upgrading at various roster positions after back-to-back 4-13 regular season finishes. When appearing on The Adam Schefter Podcast, Kraft pointed to the team's active free agency and 2025 NFL draft as reasons for fans to be optimistic this year. 'We have a new coach in Mike Vrabel who is really connected with the players, who's doing great work," said Kraft. "We have a young quarterback and a lot of great veterans—free agent veterans who came in. A great draft class. We're gonna have fun this year, I promise.' There haven't been many reasons to be optimistic about the Patriots in recent years. They have not made the playoffs since the 2021 season, and they have endured losing records in three consecutive years. To take things a step further, they haven't even won a playoff game since their Super Bowl LIII victory over the Los Angeles Rams. There is a sense of change with the arrival of Vrabel and a more experienced coaching staff. Quarterback Drake Maye looks like he could be a future standout, and the team has done a much better job of surrounding him with the necessary talent to be successful. Perhaps this will be the year when the Patriots finally take flight. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Robert Kraft's true feelings on last two years under Bill Belichick, Jerod Mayo

Patriots owner Robert Kraft: 'The last two years were the worst 31 years of my ownership. We have to change that.'More with Kraft, plus a conversation with @realchriswebber:🎧 New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft openly admitted that the team needs to change after back-to-back regular season finishes with a 4-13 record. He even went as far as calling the last two years the worst years in his 31 years of ownership over the Patriots. Bill Belichick was in his final year as head coach when the team fell off a cliff in 2023. Then Jerod Mayo, a first-year head coach, was brought in and expected to clean up the mess. Things didn't turn out well for him. The rising young coach was quickly fired at the end of the season, with Kraft admitting he was put in an "untenable" situation. "The last two years were the worst years of my 31 years of ownership. We have to change that," said Kraft, when appearing on The Adam Schefter Podcast. There is hope that the Patriots can finally turn their luck around with the arrival of coach Mike Vrabel. The team has put a more experienced coaching staff in place, while also making significant roster upgrades on both offense and defense. They also still have a promising young quarterback with Drake Maye under center. Perhaps these ingredients will finally yield the success that Kraft and fans desperately want right now. Robert Kraft reveals greatest moment in Patriots history

There have been numerous memorable moments for the New England Patriots throughout the franchise's history. When you think of all of the Super Bowl titles, epic playoff games and major divisional victories, it's hard to pick just one moment as the best. Patriots owner Robert Kraft couldn't name his favorite Super Bowl because they're all special in their own right, but he did offer up his greatest moment with the team. That moment was at Super Bowl XXXVI when the underdog Patriots defeated the St. Louis Rams and "The Greatest Show on Turf." It was February 3, 2002. The Patriots went head-to-head with a stalwart Rams team that included the likes of quarterback Kurt Warner, running back Marshall Faulk and wide receivers Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt. Offensively, the Rams were a juggernaut, averaging 31.4 points per game and 418.1 yards per game. They recorded 503 total points and 6,930 offensive yards. 'Well, there's one thing about when you dream of owning a team, and then you want to win," Kraft told ESPN's Adam Schefter on The Adam Schefter Podcast. "When we went to the Super Bowl in the 2001 season, four months after 9/11, and the country was so messed up, and we were the largest underdog against 'The Greatest Show on Turf', the St. Louis Rams. I'll never forget seeing the clock tick down as Adam Vinatieri makes the kick as time runs out, and we win the Super Bowl. It was just unbelievable." The Patriots upsetting the Rams was a magical moment because it kick-started the greatest dynasty in NFL history. It was also the first Super Bowl win for legendary quarterback Tom Brady and kicker Adam Vinatieri. That moment was extra special because it signaled that Kraft and the Patriots had finally made it. They became a championship team. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Bills Receive Another Unfortunate Update on James Cook

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Buffalo Bills will enter the 2025 NFL season with hopes of winning a Super Bowl. After losing in the AFC title game again, Buffalo is looking for some redemption to finally get over the hump. More NFL news: Steelers Linked to Possible Trade With Packers for Aaron Rodgers Support This Bills team is very good, and many around the league see them as a true title threat. But the team is currently dealing with an ongoing situation with star running back James Cook. Cook is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and he wants an extension from Buffalo. However, the two sides haven't been remotely close on a new deal, and it has led to a lot of frustration from Cook's side. Due to this, there has been a lot of speculation around his future with the team. During a recent edition of "The Adam Schefter Podcast," the NFL insider shared an unfortunate update on the situation. "You've got a guy who's unhappy with his contractual situation," Schefter said. "(He) has basically disconnected himself from the organization and the city, put his house up for sale...I don't think we'll be seeing him in Buffalo anytime soon. Again, the start of training camp will be the next critical moment. If they don't have a deal done there or by then, does James Cook show up for training camp? Does he risk the penalties that come along in the collective bargaining agreement if he doesn't show up?" More Photo by Bryan M. Bennett/Getty Images If Cook comes to training camp, there is a chance he could play out the year and then earn a contract. It could be similar to how star wide-out Tee Higgins handled things with the Cincinnati Bengals last year. But if he doesn't show up, the Bills may need to look elsewhere for the season. Cook was crucial to the Bulls' offensive attack last season, so losing him would be a major hit to Buffalo. However, he wants a new deal and seems to be dead set on making it happen. Buffalo may need to trade him if things don't get settled to avoid any distractions around the rest of the team. Last season, the running back rushed for 1,009 yards and 16 touchdowns. Cook also caught 32 passes for 258 yards and two scores.
