Port Adelaide great Tredrea hits out amid antisemitism furore
Port Adelaide says it is conducting a review into board member and former star Warren Tredrea following a complaint about the content of his podcast. Tredrea has denied accusations of antisemitism, after a guest on The Ballsy Show made controversial comments in an interview. In a statement on Wednesday, the Power said they were reviewing their 2004 premiership-winning captain's conduct after 'concerns raised about recent public content published by [the] member-elected club director'. Port's move came after the Jewish Council of Australia, a left-wing pro-Palestinian group, objected to an Instagram post from Tredrea related to remarks about Israel from the guest on the retired footballer's podcast. The club said the 46-year-old Tredrea would remain on the board until the review was completed. Tredrea said he 'unequivocally' condemns war and genocide and is 'not in any way, shape, or form, an antisemite' after Port Adelaide said they were undertaking a governance review. The former star had a former British army veteran on his show last month. In comments that have since sparked a furore, A.J. Roberts made assertions without evidence that Israel was 'a fake state' and that Mossad was 'part of carrying out 9/11 … and created ISIS'. Tredrea did not make antisemitic comments in the interview and The Age is not suggesting he supported Roberts' theories. The Age attempted to contact Tredrea. He defended his podcast on social media on Wednesday night.

Former AFL star Warren Tredrea under fire after guest's anti-Israel comments aired on podcast episode
Former AFL star Warren Tredrea has come under fire after airing an episode of his 'The Ballsy Show' podcast where a guest slandered Israel and shared 'conspiracy theories". AJ Roberts, who was referred to as a British Army veteran when he featured on the Port Adelaide board member's podcast last month, went into a tirade against Israel as the Port Adelaide legend listened on. 'Israel is a quote-unquote fake state,' Mr Roberts said in the episode. 'It was created post-World War II by the same Zionists who were controlling World War II.' Mr Roberts went on to talk about 'genocide' he claimed was being carried out, which he asserted was 'highly satanic'. He also made claims about Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, linking it to the 9/11 terrorist attacks and terrorist group ISIS. According to ABC News, the Jewish Council of Australia executive officer Max Kaiser in a statement has blasted the remarks that went to air. "The Jewish Council of Australia is deeply disturbed by the amplification of far-right antisemitic conspiracy theories in this Instagram post and podcast episode," Mr Kaiser said. The Ballsy Show is released on multiple platforms, and the controversial episode has racked up nearly 1000 views on YouTube since being posted on the AFL legend's channel, in which Mr Roberts is described as a '15-year British Army veteran turned coach, speaker, and truth-seeker". 'From military intelligence to questioning government and media narratives, AJ dives into energy portals, chakras, and the impact of executive orders,' the listed description of the episode says. '(Mr Roberts) reveals how lockdown sparked his curiosity, leading to a rising consciousness that challenges the status quo. If you're ready to see beyond the surface, this episode is your call to action.' Mr Tredrea, who is also a Port Adelaide Football Club board member, shared clips of the podcast to his social media accounts, including Mr Roberts comments on Israel. One person commented on a Facebook post of one of the clips 'What a crock', while another commenter reacted to a similar post saying 'crap'.
