TODAY'S TV WITH SARA WALLIS: Plot to kill Holly Willoughby is explored in new Channel 5 documentary

From thrilling new dramas and gritty documentaries through to glossy entertainment shows, reality binge-watches, returning series and all the best soaps, there's always something to keep us glued to the small screen. If you're wondering what to watch tonight, I've handpicked the best of the box, selected from all the traditional networks like BBC and ITV, as well as streamers like Netflix, Prime, Disney+ and Apple TV. Tonight, we find out the shocking details of the plot to kill Holly Willoughby, while bonkers game show Taskmaster returns and there's a Hollywood cast playing troubled couples in new Netflix comedy The Four Seasons. See below for my top telly picks. Pick of the day... The Plot To Kill Holly Willoughby, Channel 5, 9pm Fans of This Morning were sent into a frenzy one Thursday when long-time host Holly Willoughby didn't turn up for work. What we didn't know is that 12 hours earlier, police had bashed down the door of a suspect who had plotted to kidnap, sexually assault and murder her - spinning Holly's life on its head in that moment. This documentary examines the details of this crime, which tells of the horrific plan by 37-year-old Essex security guard Gavin Plumb. In July last year, Plumb was convicted soliciting the kidnap, rape and murder of Holly, having spent nearly a decade developing a twisted fixation on her. He amassed tens of thousands of images, tracked her movements, researched her home and security arrangements and had recruited other like-minded men to help turn his sick sexual fantasies into reality. Their plan was to invade the star's London home - subdue her husband with chloroform and use the couple's young children as leverage. They intended to kidnap Holly, drive her to a remote location where she would be viciously sexually assaulted and ultimately, murdered. When Holly learned of the plan, just hours before she was due to go on air, her life was changed forever. With little choice but to put her glittering career on hold, she withdrew from public life whilst the police built their case against Plumb. Would his plan ever come to pass or was it nothing more than a sick fantasy? Holly refused to participate in this documentary, but there is commentary from journalists and experts in criminal psychology, as it rakes over the details of a crime that shocked the nation. Holly Willoughby's new life after sick murder plot and Phillip Schofield scandal The Best of the Rest... Taskmaster, Channel 4, 9pm The most absurd and brilliant game show returns, with Greg Davies as fickle overlord and Little Alex Horne as his subservient sidekick. Competing this time are comedian and writer Fatiha El-Ghorri, American comedian, actor and podcaster Jason Mantzoukas, actor and writer Mathew Baynton, podcaster and broadcaster Rosie Ramsey and comedian, actor and podcaster Stevie Martin. Each are hoping to win valuable points, eternal glory, and favourable treatment from the Taskmaster, but they will soon learn that nothing makes sense, everything is utterly pointless and favour is hard to win. Four of them will eventually exit the show broken and beaten, while one will exit broken, beaten and with a rubbish prize. In the first prize task, a golf club and a map remind everyone of school - in a good way. They must demonstrate their skills in tasks involving vinegar, raisins and peas. Find out also what makes everyone describe Alex as 'cool'. It's never been said before… The Four Seasons, Netflix With a starry Hollywood cast, this is a fresh take on an age-old saga - a break up. Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Marco Calvani star as three married couples who have been friends for 30 years. Every season, they all go away together for the weekend, but this glorious tradition is about to be smashed to pieces when one of the couples divorces. Tina, who wrote the show alongside 30 Rock writer producers Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, said: 'I hope audiences feel like they are inside a big sweater with us, and also having a dinner party with us, and I hope that any of the joy and warmth that we all feel for each other all transfers to them.' The show, which has been compared to The White Lotus (minus the deaths), has a lot to unpack as these couples navigate their weekend getaways with a whole new dynamic. Emmerdale, ITV1, 7.30pm Steph goes into a full meltdown, smashing pots in the kitchen. When Ross finds out what's been happening, he's distraught. As Steph explains her feelings, he tries to console her, but receives a torrent of abuse. When Cain tells Moira about his mysterious call with Nate, Moira is gutted for him, but encourages him not to give up on getting through to his son. When Evan is taken into hospital, Billy feels guilty but Dawn convinces him that it wasn't his fault. EastEnders, BBC1, 7.30pm Joel finds Avani to arrange a meet-up so they can share the weed. Later, Avani is with Barney when Joel and Tommy arrive. Barney is gutted that Avani invited them, and things go from bad to worse when Joel makes a disparaging comment about Avani when she is out of the room. Johnny lays his cards on the table with Felix. Anna heads to The Albert to try and mend her relationship with Gina. At Harry's barn, Nicola faces a reckoning.

TODAY'S TV WITH SARA WALLIS: Bradley Walsh gets slapped in Thailand for latest ITV series

From thrilling new dramas and gritty documentaries through to glossy entertainment shows, reality binge-watches, returning series and all the best soaps, there's always something to keep us glued to the small screen. If you're wondering what to watch tonight, I've handpicked the best of the box, selected from all the traditional networks like BBC and ITV. Bradley & Barney Walsh Breaking Dad, ITV, 8pm The White Lotus might be over, but the Walsh lads are still enjoying their own personal voyage of discovery through Thailand. Mostly what they're learning is that there is no limit to how far Barney will push his dad in the name of thrill-seeking, but Brad should know what he signed up for at this stage! The pair have arrived in the frenetic capital city of Bangkok, and Brad takes the traffic in his stride, which is no mean feat while driving a caravan through a new place. But wait till they take their seats in a longtail speedboat. It's a fun tourist experience sailing through the floating market and buying souvenirs on the water, but when the engine kicks in and the boat shows what it can really do, this becomes white knuckle stuff. Once they're back on dry land there's no time for a rest, as Barney wants to try a spot of Thai boxing. Despite Brad's protests, he soon finds himself in silky shorts, being kicked by the locals. Later, he thinks he's finally due some relaxation when Barney takes them for a traditional Thai massage. But he doesn't even get to lie down, as they've booked in for a special face-slapping treatment, which apparently acts as an instant face-lift. Also on the agenda is a stomach-churning glass floor at the top of a skyscraper, an encounter with snakes and rice tractor drag racing. Will Brad continue to face his fears or will Barney go too far? The Best of the Rest Who Do You Think You Are?, BBC1, 9pm Journalist and former Radio 4 Today presenter Mishal Husain has already written extensively about her ancestry, but there are certain branches of her family tree still leaving her stumped. She's determined to learn more about her grandmother, Mary Quinn, and her search takes her to South East India. There she discovers more about her great, great grandfather Thomas who, according to family legend, had a prestigious position as a personal physician to a Maharaja. While many of her findings ring true with her research, others leave her shocked. Mishal is stunned to find out that she had ancestors who fought in the American War of Independence, and that her heritage extends to the US. As she arrives in Massachusetts, she can't quite believe that she has a family connection to the country she has visited so many times for work. A trip to Harvard University reveals fascinating details about her rebellious 4x great grandfather Joseph Farley. Stacey & Joe, BBC1, 8pm This series has quickly won hearts for its honest depiction of family life at Pickle Cottage. While Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash have more money than most, their day-to-day struggles and tiffs are familiar to us all, let alone the chaos of raising five children. Down to earth Stacey shares her birthday with three-year old daughter Rose, and we're joining in the celebrations as they head out to a safari park. Meanwhile, older boys Zach and Leighton are considering their future in the spotlight as they are invited to appear in Hollyoaks. Also tonight, Joe continues to come to terms with his recent ADHD diagnosis, visiting a therapist to talk through what this could mean for him. Later, he spends time with sister Shana, who gets dragged along on a 'fun-run.' It doesn't seem like much fun at all though, as she has unwittingly agreed to a 7km hardcore mud challenge… Emmerdale, ITV, 7.30pm Caleb and Ruby are pleased to see Steph feeling more optimistic after her latest appointment. But they're shocked when she reveals her plans to go on holiday. Manpreet and Sarah have an awkward conversation about IVF, as Sarah insists she wants a baby. Manpreet doesn't know how to help Sarah see the reality of her situation. Later, Sarah tries to convince Vanessa to bury the hatchet with Mary. John is stressed when he sees Cain leaving another voicemail for Nate. EastEnders, ITV, 7.30pm Priya has her friends over for a takeaway, but the evening takes a turn when Joel and Tommy turn up with a bottle of vodka. Tommy is embarrassed when the boys laugh at his lack of romantic experience. Teddy and Nicola do a deal with Benji, and Nicola decides she needs to sell Harry's Barn to pay him. But Teddy has a better idea. Johnny is gutted when Felix turns him down. Harry has better luck securing a date with Gina.
