Are fans of the Boston Celtics really okay with seeing Marcus Smart as a Los Angeles Laker?

Are fans of the Boston Celtics really okay with seeing Marcus Smart as a Los Angeles Laker? There has been plenty of deserved support for the Flower Mound native in the NBA media recently. Especially given it was by no means his fault he stopped playing for the Celtics, Smart having been dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the three-team deal that landed Boston big man Kristaps Porzingis and helped secure Banner 18. But understanding how the Oklahoma State alum ended up in gold and purple will be different from seeing him play in it. Particularly if that play happens to be part of Los Angeles kicking the Celtics posteriors in what is almost certainly going to be a down year. The hosts of the CLNS Media "The Big Three NBA" podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, Gary Washburn, and Kwani Lunis, took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below! What does reserve forward Georges Niang bring to the Boston Celtics?

What does reserve forward Georges Niang bring to the Boston Celtics? Traded to the Celtics at the start of Boston offseason to help the team's front office get off of the contract of big man Kristaps Porzingis as part of their work to get under the NBA's second apron, Niang has not exactly been embraced by the Boston faithful just yet. Some of that ire may be tied to his scrappy play against now teammate Jaylen Brown, but that same play could win him some fans when it is for the Celtics. A very self-aware rotation player with no illusions about where he stands in the team's current and former pecking order, Niang did himself a favor with his words about his new home. But what does he bring to the court for Boston next season if he does not get dealt again before the start of the 2025-25 NBA season? The hosts of the CLNS Media "The Big Three NBA" podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, Gary Washburn, and Kwani Lunis, linked up with Cleveland Dot Com Cavs beat writer Ethan Sands to talk it over on a recent episode. Check it out below! Why Charles Bassey did not play with the Boston Celtics in the last game of summer league

If you are wondering why unsigned big man Charles Bassey did not play with the Boston Celtics in their last game of the NBA's 2025 Las Vegas Summer League, we now know why. The Sin City Celtics found themselves without their best overall player in summer league action due to the free agent center having commitments elsewhere this summer. To get the lowdown on why Bassey did not suit up for the Summer Celtics in their penultimate tilt of the annual Nevada summer exhibition series (and their last of the Las Vegas Summer League regular season, if you can call it that), check out what the cohosts of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Bobby Manning, Noa Dalzell and A. Sherrod Blakely, had to say in a recent pod with cohost of "The Big Three NBA" podcast, Gary Washburn. The four took some time to talk about Bassey's future, why it won't be with Boston in Vegas, and more. Should the Boston Celtics go after Damian Lillard AND Bradley Beal?

Should the Boston Celtics go after Damian Lillard AND Bradley Beal? The Celtics just trimmed down their roster's cap hit to avoid the dreaded second apron impacts mandated by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) by trading away vets Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, and let key backup big man Luke Kornet walk in free agency. Since then, they have also added former Minnesota Timberwolves rotation players Luka Garza and Josh Minott to help bolster the team's depth on the cheap, but what if they could add not just one of Beal or Lillard to such an end -- but both? Would this outcome made possible by one finished and another anticipated buyouts make sense for all of the parties involved? The hosts of the CLNS Media "The Big Three NBA" podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, Gary Washburn, and Kwani Lunis took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below! The Boston Celtics should seriously consider signing injured vet guard Damian Lillard

The Boston Celtics should seriously consider signing injured vet guard Damian Lillard. Or at least that is the point of view coming from one of the hosts of the CLNS Media "The Big Three NBA" podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, Gary Washburn, and Kwani Lunis. The intellectual author of that perspective is none other than Washburn, who opened up about how he feels regarding a rumored potential partnership between Dame and Boston that both sides supposedly have some level of interest in. What is the case for bringing on Lillard given his long recovery ahead of a torn Achilles tendon given star Boston forward Jayson Tatum is already dealing with the same injury? Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say about the wisdom of signing a hobbled Dame Dolla this season.
