‘The Canteen' owners looking to sell restaurant
CLARKSBURG, (WBOY) — Despite the restaurant only being open for five months, owners of the revived Clarksburg classic The Canteen have announced their intentions to sell the business.
In a Facebook post made Monday afternoon, the owners said they are 'looking to possibly sell' and 'move all our business assets to the building we recently purchased in downtown Clarksburg.'

Co-owner Walter Foster mentioned in a comment on the post that the proposed sale would include the business' name, equipment, etc. and that the food served would not change.
Foster added that the current ownership is looking to open a new business downtown that serves as a combination restaurant, ice cream shop and coffee shop. The address of this new business was not listed.
The Canteen officially reopened on Emily Drive in September 2024 and was inspired by the original restaurant located in the Stealey neighborhood.
