Lottery jackpot worth over $275,000 won in Twin Cities

Lottery jackpot worth over $275,000 won in Twin Cities originally appeared on Bring Me The News. A lottery ticket holder in the Twin Cities won a jackpot worth more than $275,000 over the weekend. A player who bought their ticket at The Corner Store in Inver Grove Heights won the top prize in Saturday's North 5 draw, landing $276,186. The Minnesota Lottery says that The Corner Store will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket. North 5 is a drawing of five numbers between 1 and 34, with prizes given for players who match two to five numbers, with all five winning the jackpot. The prize fund is heavily weight towards the jackpot, with matching four numbers out of five only getting you a $50 payout, despite odds of 1 in 1,919. There were also two $50,000 winners in Saturday's Powerball draw from the Twin Cities, with the tickets sold at Winners Corner in Newport and Shooters Billiard Club & Cafe in Burnsville. This story was originally reported by Bring Me The News on Jun 2, 2025, where it first appeared.

Nearly $400K in lottery prizes won this weekend in Minnesota

Some Minnesota lottery players won nearly $400,000 this weekend. State lottery officials say Inver Grove Heights' The Corner Store sold a North 5 ticket worth $276,186. Two $50,000 Powerball tickets were also sold at Newport's Winners Corner in Newport and Burnsville's Shooters Billiard Club & Cafe. Winners have one year to claim their prizes, and due to a state law signed in 2021, they can opt out of being publicly identified if they win more than $10,000. Minnesota has had its share of big wins this year. In early January, two Millionaire Raffle tickets were sold in Tracy and Nowthen. Weeks later, someone bought a Progressive Print-N-Play ticket worth $436,015 in North St. Paul. In February, someone bought a Powerball ticket in Lake City worth $94,949 on the same weekend another lucky customer won a $50,000 Powerball jackpot in Hastings. And in March, a North 5 ticket worth $137,742 was sold in Maple Grove. In last year's general election, Minnesotans voted overwhelmingly in favor of maintaining the policy of placing 40% of all Minnesota Lottery proceeds into the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund. In January, it was announced $1.2 million of those funds would go to the University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine for avian influenza research. Lucca Ravioli, beloved former Mission District deli, to be transformed into tech hub

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The site of a long-vacant, beloved former San Francisco deli is being transformed into a tech hub — at least temporarily. The deli, Lucca Ravioli in SF's Mission District, had its final day of service in 2019, after 94 years in business. The deli was a long-running favorite with locals and actor Danny Glover was among those who visited it on its final day. Now the site at 1100 Valencia Street is being transformed into 'The Corner Store,' a tech and commerce hub that will be operated by Square. Founded by Jack Dorsey, Square is one of several online payments platforms operated by parent company Block. Square plans to temporarily set up shop at the former deli for a month of 'events rooted in community, growth, and celebration,' according to the Corner Store web page. The events kick off Tuesday with a launch party. Meta reportedly targets 'low performers' again, stoking fears of layoffs The activation's other events include a neighborhood restaurant night, a local business night, a Sysco and Square night, and 'Local Legacies,' a night showcasing the stories of local small businesses. During daytime hours, The Corner Store will operate as a business resource center where local business owners can consult with Square employees and purchase devices like the new 'Square Handheld.' The initiative, according to Square, 'will provide hands-on support and educational resources to area merchants and create a point of connection where home-grown businesses can network and collaborate.' 'As a corner store owner myself, I know how important these establishments are to creating connection and fostering community,' said Ramzi Budayr, owner of Dolores Deluxe and host of the 'Forever Neighbor' podcast. 'I'm looking forward to the programming, events, and meeting more local businesses at the Corner Store, so we can continue to support each other and support the neighborhood we all live and work in.' The Square pop-up is temporary and will run through June. Currently, no long-term plans have been announced for the former Lucca Ravioli location. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
