Peyton Manning and Carrie Penner check in on high school helmet project
Peyton Manning and Carrie Penner check in on high school helmet project The Denver Broncos are making a big impact in 2025, on and off the field. As part of the ALL IN. ALL COVERED. campaign, where the Broncos pledged to provide new Riddell helmets to all 277 Colorado high schools, Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and team co-owner Carrie Walton Penner took a tour of the Riddell facility to check on the progress of the project. Manning and Penner were shown each step of the helmet-making process: picking, painting, decal application, packaging and shipping. Penner was able to help paint a few of the helmets, while Manning helped with decal application. While reviewing completed helmets for the Peyton Panthers, Manning poked fun at the name of the team. "Peyton Panthers, appropriately named because the Broncos beat the Panthers ten years ago in the Super Bowl," said Manning. "We're combining all these worlds. Peyton Pride, baby!" You can watch the full video of Manning and Penner's visit below. You can read more about the team's helmet program on the team's official website. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Denver Broncos sign 6-foot-7, 230-pound Georgia OL as undrafted free agent
Denver Broncos sign 6-foot-7, 230-pound Georgia OL as undrafted free agent The Denver Broncos have signed Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Xavier Truss as an undrafted free agent. The 6-foot-7, 320-pound offensive lineman played both tackle and guard in college. Truss has excellent size and will look to make the Broncos' roster as a reserve offensive lineman. Xavier Truss, a versatile offensive lineman, signed with Georgia in 2019 and navigated a period of coaching changes, working under offensive line coaches Sam Pittman, Matt Luke, and Stacy Searels. His early career saw a redshirt in 2019 and limited action until the 2020 Peach Bowl against Cincinnati, where he started at left tackle amid team disruptions and faced a challenging performance, though Georgia secured a narrow victory. In 2021, Truss appeared in all 15 games as a reserve, stepping up for significant snaps against Tennessee. He solidified a starting role in 2022, primarily at left guard, contributing to Georgia's undefeated national championship season with 14 starts. His adaptability became crucial in 2023, as he gained experience at every offensive line position except center. Starting at left guard, he shifted to right tackle due to injury and also saw starts at right guard and spot duty at left tackle. This versatility continued in 2024, with significant time at right tackle and right guard, along with brief appearances at left guard and left tackle, demonstrating his value amid various offensive line injuries. He did not start at guard in 2024 partially because Georgia returned Tate Ratledge and Dylan Fairchild, who both went on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL draft.

Broncos host TE Evan Engram on free agent visit
Broncos host TE Evan Engram on free agent visit The Denver Broncos are bringing in tight end Evan Engram for a free agent visit, ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported on Monday morning. The Jacksonville Jaguars recently released Engram with a failed physical designation, so it's no surprise that the Broncos want to host him in person before offering a potential contract. Engram underwent shoulder surgery, but KUSA-TV's Mike Klis tweeted the tight end "should check out fine." If he's truly healthy, Engram could be a candidate to sign with Denver, giving the team a much-needed weapon for young quarterback Bo Nix. Tight end is among the team's biggest positions of need this offseason (it's No. 1 on our list), and Engram also made our list of dream free agent targets for the Broncos. Engram (6-3, 240 pounds) had a breakout season two years ago when he hauled in 114 receptions for 963 yards and four touchdowns. He was hindered by a hamstring injury and a torn labrum last fall, totaling 47 catches for 365 yards and one score in nine games. A two-time Pro Bowler, Engram is entering his ninth season at age 30. We will track his status and all of the team's upcoming moves on Broncos Wire. These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans

Sean Payton adds another ex-Saints player to coaching staff
The Denver Broncos announced additions (and promotions) on Sean Payton's coaching staff on Thursday, and the list of new hires includes a former player. It's no surprise as Payton has a history of helping ex-players transition to coaching. After playing under Payton as an offensive lineman with the New Orleans Saints, Zach Strief got his start as a coach in New Orleans before following Payton in Denver. Payton also hired ex-Saint safety Chris Banjo right after he retired, and Payton brought in ex-NFL quarterback Davis Webb immediately after he hung up his cleats. It wasn't his first coaching job, but former center Austin King also joined Payton's staff in 2023. The trend of hiring ex-players continued with the Broncos' latest round of hires as the team hired former Saints fullback Zach Line as a special teams quality control coach. Line (34) played fullback for seven years in the NFL, including a three-year stint under Payton from 2017-2019. After hanging up his cleats, Line returned to his high school alma mater, Oxford High School in Michigan, where he served as a head coach. After reaching the playoffs in four of his five years at the high school level, Line is now jumping to the NFL, reuniting with Payton. He will look to follow in the path of Strief, Webb, Banjo and King, who have all received promotions since joining Payton's staff. Denver Broncos fire Michael Wilhoite after coach charged with assaulting police officer
The Denver Broncos fired outside linebackers coach Michael Wilhoite following his arrest for an altercation in the departure area of Denver International Airport. "After thorough discussions as an organization, I met with Michael Wilhoite and informed him we have decided to part ways," Broncos head coach Sean Payton said in a statement to the Denver Post's Parker Gabriel. "We recognize the serious nature of the allegations against him and believe this is the best course of action at this time. "I appreciate Michael's contributions to the Broncos and am confident he will move forward in a positive direction." Per a Denver Police probable cause statement, the alleged altercation happened on Sunday, Feb. 23 when Wilhoite left his 2021 Ford Bronco unattended. When he came back to the vehicle, an officer approached him and told him he couldn't leave the car like that, according to the statement. Wilhoite told the officer to "shut the (expletive) up," according to the probable cause statement. The officer again told Wilhoite he couldn't leave his vehicle like that and Wilhoite repeated what he said and bumped the officer in the chest. The officer shoved him in response and Wilhoite reacted by punching the officer, the statement said. They fell to the ground and used a Taser on Wilhoite before he drove away and was later arrested. Wilhoite was charged with second-degree assault of a police officer on Feb. 25 and is expected to appear again in court on March 10. Wilhoite was hired on to the Broncos' staff under Payton in 2023. He spent the 2019 and 2020 seasons on Payton's staff with the New Orleans Saints as a special teams and defensive assistant. Before reuniting with Payton in Denver, Wilhoite worked as a linebackers coach for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 and 2022. Wilhoite spent six years as a linebacker in the NFL. He played for the San Francisco 49ers from 2012-16 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. This article originally appeared on USA TODAY: Broncos fire coach Michael Wilhoite after police assault charges
