Will there be a Happy Gilmore 3? Here's what director Kyle Newacheck said
The release of Happy Gilmore 2 is one that has been thirty years in the waiting. Following its premiere on Netflix last week, fans have already started wondering whether they can get their hopes up in favor of receiving a third part of the beloved franchise anytime soon. Fans are buzzing about a possible Happy Gilmore 3 after the success of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix.(Netflix/X) The first film, originally released in 1996, follows the story of a hockey player who discovers his hidden talent for golf and uses that to his advantage to help raise money for his financially-strained grandmother. Following in the same spirit, the sequel tells the tale of him trying to raise money for his daughter's ballet school. Will there be a Happy Gilmore 3? As of now, there is no official confirmation on whether such a film is in production. When asked if producer and star Adam Sandler had any plans of making a third sequel, director Kyle Newacheck revealed to The Direct, 'I don't know. I wouldn't be too forward. I would be too forward to even think about it right now. The first one took a 29-year gestation period before they figured out what the second one is. I feel like whatever I come up with right now is going to be, not it, homie.' Since the recent installment took thirty years for getting the right script and three years of production (Sandler started working on the script in 2022), chances of a third sequel being released or starting anytime soon look incredibly slim. Such a decision would be based on the kind of audience reception the second installment receives. Is Adam Sandler interested? Sandler has not publicly spoken about working on Happy Gilmore 3, although he is interested in creating a sequel for another one of his beloved movies from the past: The Waterboy. 'That would be fun as hell. I love Mama. I love Henry Winkler. I mean, come on. He's always gonna be Coach Klein to me. But, I don't know, man, it's funny. I don't know what the ideas [would be],' he said in a 2022 interview with Variety's Award Circuit podcast. Interestingly, this is the same place where Sandler had announced plans for Happy Gilmore 2 as well. As of now, Sandler's schedule is relatively empty, with only one film (Noah Baumbach's Jay Kelly) scheduled in his upcoming releases. His untitled project with the Safdie brothers hasn't received any updates since 2023. By Stuti Gupta

John Cena's Christopher Smith is gearing up for a brutal fight in Peacemaker season 2. The HBO Max series, directed by James Gunn, returns August 21 after more than three years, bringing with it a mix of new heroes and a roster of villains drawn straight from DC's archives. Gunn has confirmed that six heavy-hitting antagonists will appear this season, setting the stage for chaos, reports The Direct. Peacemaker Season 2: John Cena's Christopher Smith is set to face new and old villains this time.(Screengrab/YouTube) This second outing is not just about action. In season 1, Robert Patrick's Auggie Smith - Peacemaker's abusive father - met his end. But footage from season 2 shows a new White Dragon costume, this time with a blue color scheme. The video hints it could be Auggie reappearing in visions, as he did during the season 1 finale, or someone entirely new carrying the mantle. Frank Grillo's Rick Flag Sr. also joins the season, gunning for revenge after Peacemaker killed his son, Rick Flag Jr., in The Suicide Squad. That showdown promises some of the most emotionally charged moments this season, according to The Direct. Also read: Fantastic Four First Steps opens at $56 million in US, nearly matches Superman's Day 1 New faces and familiar rivals in Peacemaker Season 2 While in conversation with the media outlet, James Gunn has also introduced an original character, Red St. Wild, played by Michael Rooker. Gunn called him 'the world's foremost eagle hunter,' which instantly makes Eagly, Peacemaker's loyal sidekick, a target. Nhut Le's Judomaster is back as well, though his allegiance is unclear. He spent most of season 1 fighting Peacemaker, but this time his role could swing either way. Sean Gunn steps in as Maxwell Lord, a character with a shady reputation in DC lore. He appears to be connected to Justice League recruitment efforts, but fans know Lord is rarely trustworthy. Rounding out the villain squad is White Rabbit, played by Brey Noelle. Known in comics as a socialite with super speed and cloning abilities, she is making her live-action debut. FAQs Who is the main villain in Peacemaker season 2? Six villains, including White Dragon and Maxwell Lord, are set to appear. When does Peacemaker season 2 premiere? The first episode debuts on August 21. Which actors are joining season 2? Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Brey Noelle, and Frank Grillo are confirmed for new roles. Will Judomaster be a villain again? His role has not been confirmed, but he is expected to have major fight scenes.

Poker Face: Has the show been renewed for a third season? All you need to know
The second season of Rian Johnson's crime drama series Poker Face ends on Thursday, July 10. While the Poker Face Season 2 finale episode is called 'The End of the Road', it remains to be seen when fans can get to witness its third instalment in future. In the last episode, lie detector Charlie Cale, essayed by Natasha Lyonne, starts questioning everything she believed in, while she is running from a hitman. Towards the end, Charlie loses her Plymouth Barracuda and finds out a nemesis in the Iguana, who posed as her sidekick and confidante Alex (Patti Harrison) over the past several episodes. Through her ability to hide any physical tells, she can easily lie to Charlie. Charlie remains officially wanted on the list of FBI due to her involvement with the Iguana. Also, viewers saw her leading the killer directly to the safe house, where Beatrix Hasp (Rhea Perlman) was staying. So, now that Charlie is back on the run, will she get to solve more crimes in the third instalment? For now, Peacock has not made any official announcement regarding the highly anticipated third season of the series. This means that Poker Face has not been renewed for Season 3 or cancelled yet. But there are chances that the series can happen in future, especially after Season 2 received a positive response from critics and viewers, and found its place among Peacock's Top 10 TV Shows list. Recently, Poker Face Season 2 showrunner Tony Tost shared his dream guest list for the potential next season. 'Well, for me personally, Cissy Spacey, who is on my T-shirt… Getting someone like Paul Walter Hauser, Jon Bernthal. There's a bevy of interesting people to get… Sam Rockwell, Benicio Del Toro would be interesting," The Direct quoted Tost as saying. The first season of the show premiered on January 26, 2023, followed by Season 2 on May 8, 2025. There were several reasons behind the over two-year delay between the premieres, including the 2023 WGA and SAG strikes due to which film and TV production was significantly impacted. So, if the series is renewed for Season 3, there are chances that fans won't have to wait long for the new episodes. As of now, the show has not been renewed for a third season by Peacock. The show features Natasha Lyonne in the lead role of Charlie Cale. She was joined by Benjamin Bratt, Simon Helberg, Rhea Perlman, Steve Buscemi and Patti Harrison among others. Fans can watch the latest episodes on Peacock.

Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 – Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next
By Aman Shukla Published on July 10, 2025, 19:00 IST Last updated July 10, 2025, 12:28 IST Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series had us all glued to our screens back in February 2024, and now we're practically vibrating with excitement for Season 2. Aang and the gang are gearing up for more elemental chaos, and fans are dying to know when it'll drop, who's in the lineup, and what kind of adventures are coming. Let's spill the tea on what's next for our favorite bald Avatar. When Can We Expect Season 2? Netflix is keeping the release date under wraps like a Fire Nation secret, but word on the street points to early 2026. Miya Cech, who's about to slay as Toph Beifong, let slip in a chat with The Direct that the team's aiming for early 2026 but crossing their fingers for something sooner. Filming started in September 2024 and wrapped up by May 2025, with Season 3 shooting hot on its heels. With all the fancy CGI needed for earthbending showdowns and Appa's fluffy flights, early 2026 feels like a safe bet. Who's In the Cast? Season 2 brings back the core crew we fell for in Season 1, plus some exciting new players. Here's who's suiting up: Gordon Cormier as Aang, the wide-eyed Avatar mastering the elements. Kiawentiio as Katara, leveling up her waterbending game. Ian Ousley as Sokka, dishing out clever plans and witty one-liners. Dallas Liu as Zuko, wrestling with his firebending legacy and inner turmoil. Elizabeth Yu as Azula, the Fire Nation's sharp-tongued princess. Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, serving wisdom with a side of tea. Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, the big bad pulling the strings. The big news? Miya Cech joins as Toph, the blind earthbender with a sassy streak and seismic sense. Cech teased a Toph who's a touch more feminine than the animated version but still packs the same punch. Other fresh faces include: Chin Han as Long Feng, the shady Dai Li boss. Justin Chien as King Kuei, the Earth Kingdom's figurehead. Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, ready to creep us out with 'No war in Ba Sing Se.' Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, Toph's overprotective mom. Kelemete Misipeka as The Boulder, a hulking earthbender with flair. Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, a nerdy Earth Kingdom scholar. Lourdes Faberes as General Sung, a military bigwig. Rekha Sharma as Amita, a brand-new character exclusive to the show. Season 2 also welcomes Madison Hu as Fei, Dichen Lachman as Avatar Yangchen, Dolly De Leon as Lo and Li, Lily Gao as Ursa, and Terry Chen as Jeong Jeong. Looking ahead, Season 3 will feature Jon Jon Briones as Piandao and Tantoo Cardinal as Hama. Don't expect Ken Leung's Commander Zhao back after his Season 1 exit, and Amber Midthunder's Princess Yue might only return as a spirit, if at all. What's the Story for Season 2? Season 2 will dive into Book Two: Earth from the original animated series, with some tweaks to fit the live-action vibe. Aang's on a mission to master earthbending with Toph as his tough-as-nails teacher, all while dodging Fire Nation threats. Here's what's likely on the horizon: Earth Kingdom Vibes: The Gaang—Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph—will roam the Earth Kingdom, hitting up Ba Sing Se. Get ready for that eerie 'No war in Ba Sing Se' moment and some shady political drama. Aang's Next Steps: Aang's got to nail earthbending and maybe tap into the Avatar State, with a little help from past Avatars like Yangchen. Zuko's Inner Battle: Zuko's redemption arc heats up as he grapples with his loyalties, especially with Azula hot on the Avatar's trail. Bigger Stakes: Showrunners Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani say Season 2 will throw tougher, trickier challenges at the crew, with a grittier, more lived-in world. 'Ironheart' Has Not Yet Been Renewed for Another Season
Season 1 of Marvel's Ironheart will come to a close tonight on Disney+, closing a chapter on one of the MCU's newest additions. But this might not be the last we see of the titular hero. Ahead of the final episode, fans may be wondering where Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne)'s journey will go next. Here's what we know about the future of Ironheart so far. As of right now, Ironheart has not been renewed for a second season. In an interview with The Direct, Thorne was asked about the potential future she sees for her character if the show were to come back. 'Actually, don't think I can even say that without spoiling everything,' she said. 'I would like to see her explore the full range of other options presented to her in season 1.' She also spoke about Riri's character development over the first season, which could lead to an interesting storyline for season 2. 'Her mind is opened about what actually exists in the world, realizing that it's so much bigger than what she thought, even in her hometown, that things are so much bigger and there's a lot more going on than she ever cared to know or to understand. So now that she does know what's out there, what does she choose? I think that would be pretty cool.' It would be expected that series regulars would return, including Thorne, Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Manny Montana, Matthew Elam, Jaren Merrell, and Zoe Terakes. Additional cast members, if the show were to be renewed, have yet to be announced. This story will be updated.
