Saoirse Ronan to star in new video for Talking Heads classic
Saoirse Ronan will star in a new video for Talking Heads classic Psycho Killer to mark the 50th anniversary of the band's first gig at New York venue CBGBs. The new promo for the track, which is from the band's debut album, Talking Heads: 77, will be released on Thursday and sees Lady Bird and Brooklyn star Ronan acting out in a series of domestic and work locations. She can also be seen brushing her teeth, while dancing in the mirror to the song's famous "Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya, ya" refrain, slapping herself in the face, and waiting in traffic. Psycho Killer was the first song David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz and Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads wrote together and the new video was directed by director and screenwriter Mike Mills, who has previously worked with The Divine Comedy and Moby. The band began posting teasers about the new video on Monday and on Tuesday evening, the official Talking Heads social media accounts posted a photo of the film slate from the video shoot last January. The caption read, "To mark the 50th Anniversary of the band's first show at CBGB's, the first official music video for Psycho Killer, directed by Mike Mills & starring Saoirse Ronan, will be released. Out June 5th, 2025." Talking Heads last performed together in 1984 and officially disbanded in 1991. In 2023, all four members reunited for the first time in over 20 years when they attended a 40th anniversary event for their concert film Stop Making Sense. In recent years there has been much speculation about Talking Heads reforming for a reunion tour, with reports that they turned down $80 million offer to tour. However, the band have consistently denied that they plan to play together again.

Charles and Camilla visit tomb of Dante, Italy's greatest poet
King Charles III and Queen Camilla capped a state visit to Italy on Thursday with a visit to Dante's tomb and world-famous mosaics in Ravenna, the day after a surprise meeting with Pope Francis. Thousands of people waving British flags cheered as the king and queen arrived in the historic centre of the northeastern city on the fourth day of a trip that also saw Charles address Italy's parliament. The 76-year-old monarch, who was briefly admitted to hospital last month after experiencing side effects from his cancer treatment, looked relaxed and cheerful as he shook hands with well-wishers, many of whom curtsied or bowed. The royals -- who celebrated 20 years of marriage at a state banquet in Rome on Wednesday -- attended a reading of the closing canto of Italian poet Dante Alighieri's most famous work "The Divine Comedy" before visiting his tomb. Dante, considered the "father" of the Italian language, was born and raised in Florence but was exiled for his political beliefs and spent the rest of his life in Ravenna, where he died in 1321. Charles, who has visited Italy 18 times officially, referenced the poet during his speech to parliament on Wednesday, part of which he delivered in Italian. "I hope I'm not ruining Dante's language... so much so that I never get invited back to Italy!" he quipped. - 'Great excitement' - Rita Monari, a 68-year-old teacher from Ravenna, said she was pleased Charles "made an effort" to speak Italian "because... when a person speaks your language, you feel closer (to them)". "It's a great opportunity and a great moment for our city, because it's something unique... there's a great excitement in town," she said. Paola Bonifazzi, 50, said she had travelled from Milan to see them "because I love the royal family and I love King Charles". Charles and Camilla had on Wednesday made a surprise visit to see Pope Francis, who is recuperating after being hospitalised for five weeks with pneumonia. They had cancelled an official state visit to the Vatican due to his ill-health but were able to fit in a 20-minute private audience with the 88-year-old Catholic leader. On Thursday, the king will admire Ravenna's mosaics from the 5th and 6th centuries and meet artisans who keep the ancient art form alive, while Camilla will tour the Byron Museum. Before leaving Italy, the couple will visit a market and meet local farmers whose crops have been severely affected by devastating floods which have hit the region in recent years. Many of the farmers are members of the Slow Food movement, which promotes local, traditional ingredients rather than industrialised or fast food. Charles has long been a champion of sustainable agriculture and has previously said Italy's Slow Food tradition are close to his heart. ide/ar/phz

King and Queen to mark meeting with Pope with official picture
The King and Queen's meeting with the pope in Rome will be marked by the release of a picture recording the moment. Charles and Camilla made a private visit to the Vatican on Wednesday afternoon to spend time with the Pontiff who is recuperating after hospital treatment for double pneumonia. The couple were due to hold a separate state visit to the Holy See, the government of the Roman Catholic Church in the Vatican, but it was cancelled before their trip began to allow the Pope to recover from his illness. The image is expected ahead of the start of the final day of the King and Queen's four-day state visit to Italy, which the couple will spend in the city of Ravenna. The King and Queen will celebrate literary culture by visiting Dante's tomb and the Queen will make a solo trip to the Byron museum. At the Piazza San Francesco in Ravenna, the couple will tour the final resting place of the legendary Italian literary figure and attend a reading of his classic work The Divine Comedy. Later Camilla, a keen reader and supporter of a number of literary charities, will tour the Byron museum and learn about the Romantic poet's life in Italy and also attend a reception for local book clubs, libraries, book shops and representatives from her Reading Room book club. In Ravenna's Town Hall, the King and Queen will attend a reception marking the 80th anniversary of the province's liberation from Nazi occupation by Allied forces during the Second World War, which featured British and Canadian troops. The couple's tour of Italy will end when they visit Ravenna's market in the Piazza del Popolo and meet local producers and organisations.
