Eli Manning, Mike Francesa team up to spoof infamous WFAN call about Giants
Somewhere, 'Dan in Warwick' is smiling. Ten years after a WFAN caller infamously asked Mike Francesa whether the New York Giants and San Francisco Giants have an annual get-together over their shared name and got ridiculed for it, the event came to fruition in hilarious fashion. With the San Francisco Giants in town to play the Mets over the weekend, stars Logan Webb and Matt Chapman stopped by for a meetup with Eli Manning, former Pro-Bowl offensive lineman Shaun O'Hara and Francesa himself as part of a promotion for 'The Eli Manning Show.' 'Alright, we're just back for the annual Giants-Giants meetup,' Manning deadpanned in a video posted to his X account. 'This is a yearly tradition where the San Francisco Giants are in town playing the Mets, so of course all the Giants players get together for a little dinner and orange juice, a little brunch as you call it, before they go play a game.' Manning was riffing off the original call from 'Dan in Warwick,' which instantly went viral when it took place in 2015. 3 Shaun O'Hara (left), Eli Manning (front), Logan Webb (back) and Matt Chapman (right) at the Giant-Giant meetup. @Giants/X 3 From left to right: Matt Chapman, Logan Webb, Mike Francesa, Shaun O'Hara and Eli Manning. @Giants/X 'Has there ever been a franchise-to-franchise, or maybe even player-to-player get-together when San Francisco comes to New York? Do they ever say hi, maybe go out to dinner or something?' the caller asked. A bewildered Francesa then lit into the caller in a sports radio rant for the ages. 'Do you think because they're Giants they're like brothers or something?' the longtime WFAN host responded. 'That might be the weirdest question I've gotten in a long time.' 'Yeah, as a matter of fact they have the Giant picnic, they hold it over in Totowa, I think it is,' Francesa added in a sarcastic rant. 'And then they have the Giant relay race and the Giant raffle, and then they all get together for the Giant breakfast the next morning and then they go their separate ways.' 3 Mike Francesa during his 2015 rant about the suggested meetup between the New York and San Francisco Giants. Chris Poulos/YouTube There was no raffle, picnic or relay race, but there was indeed a breakfast — Webb, Chapman, Manning and O'Hara sat in a dining room and enjoyed orange juice and a spread of breakfast foods. In a video posted to the New York Giants' social media accounts, Francesa walks into the room with the four players enjoying their joint breakfast, shaking his head and saying with a smile: 'They really do get together!'

See it: Football Giants, baseball Giants spoof viral decade-old WFAN call
As it turns out, the New York Giants and San Francisco Giants really do get together. Nearly a decade ago, the question was posed by "Dan in Warwick," who called into WFAN and asked Mike Francesa, in all seriousness, if the two teams ever linked up. "Do they ever say, 'Hi?' I don't know, go out to dinner or something?" Dan asked. Francesa was floored. He called it the strangest question he had received, and after trying to wrap his head around it, poked a little fun at "Dan in Warwick." "(Henrik) Lundqvist is particularly close to (then-Texas pitcher) Yu Darvish, as a matter of fact," he said. "There's a kinship there between the two of them." The call went viral and remained a topic of conversation for 10 long years. And now, the question has finally been answered. Leave it to Eli Manning to put this all together for "The Eli Manning Show." "When I showed (Manning) the clip, he lost it in my office," Giants' senior vice president of marketing and brand strategy Nilay Shah told Newsday. "It was unbelievable. I was, like, 'Are you down to do this?' He said, 'No-brainer.'" "It's a typical Mike response of just no-holds-barred, 'You're a moron. What are you thinking?' Typical New York bluntness that he always had," Manning said. "Obviously, what made that show so great are the fans calling in and asking these questions and that interaction is obviously an instant classic." Francesa called the collaboration "ingenious." Matt Chapman and Logan Webb were also immediately on board. "I grew up watching him play football," Chatman said. "To be able to meet (Manning), it's really cool." "It's funny the things that people think, like that we would get together," Chatman said. "But now we did it, and it's fun. And it's funny. It's awesome." Somewhere, "Dan in Warwick" is smiling, having finally gotten his answer.

Michael Strahan is chasing after Giants ownership stake
First Eli Manning. And now, Michael Strahan. Two of the most beloved and successful former Giants players are attempting to link with investment groups to purchase up to 10 percent ownership of the Giants. Advertisement Strahan and billionaire Marc Lasry are teaming up to make a bid, according to Sportico. The current Giants owners, John Mara and Steve Tisch, back in February announced they hired Moelis & Co., a global investment bank, to explore the sale of a minority non-controlling stake in the team. The NFL last August voted to allow the sale of non-controlling minority stakes, capped at 10 percent, to private investors. According to the report, Manning, 44, held preliminary conversations about joining Strahan's group but decided not to 'due to conflicts with his other business holdings.' 3 Michael Strahan speaks at the 100 Years of NY Giants panel with Eli Manning, Justin Tuck, Plaxico Burress and Ottis Anderson hosted by Jesse Palmer during Fanatics Fest NYC at the Jacob Javits Center. Tom Brady and Knighthead Capital bought an approximately 10 percent stake in the Raiders in October. The Giants are worth $7.65 billion, according to Sportico, ranking third in the NFL and eighth among global sports teams. The Mara family founded the Giants in 1925 for $500. The Tisch family in 1991 purchased a 50 percent share in the franchise for $75 million. 3 Former New York Giants player Michael Strahan waves to the stadium fans during the ceremony to retire his number at half time of the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on November 28, 2021 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014, he earned $76.4 million during his playing career, according to Spotrac. His post-playing career, highlighted by his hosting 'Good Morning America' and as a FOX NFL Sunday analyst, is quite lucrative. Manning at the time of his retirement was the highest-paid player in NFL history, earning $252 million. He currently ranks ninth on that list, according to Spotrac. 'It's definitely something of interest,' Manning told CNBC Sport. 'There's probably only one team I'd be interested in pursuing, and it's the one I played for for 16 years, and it's local, and makes the most sense.'
