The dark sky community of Vermilion Hill opens 6 new show homes

The new show home openings coincide with the launch of the community's fourth phase of development. Exterior elevations include Craftsman, Prairie, Creole, Farmhouse and Mid-century Modern. Show homes are open Monday through Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and weekends and holidays from noon to 5 p.m. They are closed on Friday.

Cailtin Clark banners appear in downtown Des Moines
DES MOINES, Iowa — As Des Moines prepares for the High School State Basketball Tournament, two banners featuring Caitlin Clark have gone up in downtown along Court Avenue. One of banners hang off of the Court Avenue Brewing Company building, while the other hangs off The Elliot, located across the alley. Hawkeyes retire #22 jersey, honor Caitlin Clark legacy 'We love Caitlin Clark ya know, I think all of Des Moines and Iowa, if not the whole nation, fell in love with Caitlin Clark recently. So, it's been really cool, and I think it'll be cool for us especially with the girls' basketball tournament coming to town soon, said Bob Trader, Court Avenue Brewery. 'I think I'll be really popular and really cool to see.' The banners went up on Thursday and will be up for four weeks, during which the women's and men's state basketball tournaments will come to town.
