Where Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa Stand With Having More Kids
Originally appeared on E! Online If you ask Heather Rae El Moussa, her and Tarek El Moussa's family could still undergo a renovation. Weeks after the Selling Sunset alum revealed she and her husband of nearly four years had turned to a couples therapist to help them work through their differing ideas about expanding their brood, she shared they're still trying flip each other's stance. "We're in the see what happens phase," the 37-year-old shared in an exclusive interview with E! News. With son Tristan celebrating his second birthday this past January, "I have been vocal, probably more than my husband would like, that I would love to have another baby." Meanwhile, Tarek—who's also dad to Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, with ex-wife Christina Haack—isn't on the market for added stress. "We are very busy, and we're nonstop," Heather acknowledged, "and there's a lot of chaos and we're juggling a lot. So, we're in talks." Admittedly, the conversation has been overhauled a time or two. Ahead of her and Tarek's October 2021 vows, Heather was fairly confident she didn't want to birth any children. "I was lucky enough to be become a stepmom to Taylor and Brayden six years ago," The Flipping El Moussas star detailed, "and I fell in love with them. And then that made me want to have my own." And once she flipped her stance on that, she continued, "having Tristan made me realize, like, 'I love being a mom. I love being a stepmom. It brings so much joy to my life that, why not want more?'" And once she flipped her stance on that, she continued, "having Tristan made me realize, like, 'I love being a mom. I love being a stepmom. It brings so much joy to my life that, why not want more?'" To Heather, her brood is better than a multi-million dollar mansion with an ocean view, noting how even the most jam-packed of days are made better with a quick snuggle from her son. "These kids are just so full of life and innocence and happiness and giggles it just melts me," she explained. "I could be having the craziest day, and I come home and Tristan runs and hugs me, the kids hug me, and I'm like, 'Oh, that's my zen; that's my peace.'" Though she's well aware any actual tranquilty is in short supply now that she's got an avid talker on her hands. With Tristan mastering new words and even "putting sentences together," she's often left floored with her budding conversationalist and his sweet observations. "I think as adults, you forget about the fun of life sometimes," said Heather, "and having children brings you back to the excitement of life." On the list of Tristan's favorite simple pleasures: The weekly visit from the garbage truck. "It drives by," said Heather, "and it's, 'I love the wheels.' And everything melts in my heart. I'm just such a softy." And should Tarek soften his stance on growing their fam, Heather is always ready with a few tricks to help make the juggle managable. Mainly, snacks, for their nonstop, on-the-go lifestyle. "I pack little coolers with the shakes, with some fruit, with some snacks," Heather said of her go-to Orgain kids plant protein shakes. "Being prepared is so important as a mom and making sure that you're not out somewhere and they're like, 'I'm hungry,' and you have to stop by fast food." She also knows that a steady supply of protein keeps any hunger pains at bay. "In general, if you load up on protein, especially in the morning, it helps curb those cravings throughout the day," Heather explained of the strategy that sees her nibbling on vegan ravioli and sipping her Orgain vegan nutrition shake. "And I've realized that with my body." Most importantly, when it comes to running their businesses and their oceanfront home, "Communication is key," insisted Heather. For her, ensuring her partnership with Tarek remains a good investment means talking things out and "remembering why you fell in love." As true best friends, "Tarek and I have fun together," said Heather, noting they make it a point to carve out at least 30 minutes a day to "just laugh together, have fun, remember the special moments." Because their best asset as teammates, she continued, is "learning when each other is having a very rough day, or needs the other one to just suck it up, put a smile on your face and be there for each other." So far it's proven to be a winning strategy. The proof is in these sweet family photos.

Tarek El Moussa Suffers Home Renovation Flop After Taking One Pricey Project Just To Prove to Wife Heather He Isn't a ‘Chicken'
Tarek and Heather El Moussa have made a name for themselves as some of HGTV's most successful flippers—but they've also had their fair share of flops over the years. In fact, on the first season of their hit show 'The Flipping El Moussas,' they spent much of it being haunted by difficult projects and sinking profits. Now, in the second season of the series, it seems that at least Tarek, 43, is seeking to learn from his past mistakes, bearing a slightly more risk-averse attitude toward projects that have the potential to go disastrously wrong. That is until his wife teases him into changing his mind. In the latest episode, aptly titled 'Flipping Over Budget,' Tarek is contemplating backing out of a particularly pricey project, a home in Yorba Linda, CA, that he and Heather had already purchased for $1.3 million. Tarek estimates that it will take an additional $300,000 in renovations before the home is ready to sell. And even with all of their investment, it's likely he and Heather will see a profit of only about $70,000. Luckily, Tarek is given an 'out' when Adam Lindholm, the president of his real estate firm, calls while he and Heather are finishing up their tour of the property to reveal that they've received an offer on the home from an investor. Lindholm explains that the investor is willing to give them $50,000 more than what they paid for the home if they would be willing to sell it and walk away from the project. 'I just got an interesting call about 10 minutes ago,' Lindholm tells them. 'I have an investor that saw that we bought it. They're offering 50 grand more than we paid.' 'So we should just walk away?' Heather asks, prompting Tarek to explain that, if they take the offer, they would still end up with a $40,000 profit—even after they take into account the money they've already spent on the home. 'Yeah,' Tarek continues. 'We spent some money, but we would end up making about $40,000. So that's something.' However, the couple want to weigh up every possibility before parting ways with the partly finished project. Tarek admits that his renovation profit estimate of $70,000 might have been on the low side—although he concedes that he needs to keep renovation costs down and find the right buyer to push that number higher. 'So let's do it,' Heather urges. Still, her husband is wary, noting that it would be a 'stressful flip' because the home is large and in such poor shape. Lindholm questions why this stressful flip would be any different from the other hectic projects they've taken on over the years. Still, Tarek remains on the fence—until Heather pipes up. 'Tarek's too scared to do this flip,' Heather says. Apparently swayed by Heather, Tarek finally makes a decision. 'All right, give me that phone. Yeah, we're doing this flip,' he says to Lindholm. 'She's talking s—.' But Heather isn't done teasing. 'You sure you don't want to just take the easy way out?' she asks. 'You don't want to take the easy way out and get 40 grand? You sure?' 'Am I scared?' Tarek counters. 'Do I look like a chicken?' Heather then flaps her arms, mimicking chicken wings. 'Right, now you look like a chicken,' Tarek says, before declaring: 'We're flipping this house.' As the couple head for the door, Tarek denies yet again that he's afraid of the house flip. 'I'm scared of one thing,' he says. 'My wife.' Heather seems satisfied, but it seems Tarek should have been scared of this flip, after all. In the end, the renovation cost way more than anticipated: $410,000. After accounting for $160,000 in holding and selling costs, the house has a high break-even price of $1.87 million. At first, Tarek and Heather seem confident that, with all their expensive upgrades, they can list it for $2,499,000 and make a sizable profit of $630,000. But Heather admits, 'Now homes are sitting for a little bit longer.' After hosting an open house, Tarek reiterates that if they sell for their list price, they could make a big profit. It could be their 'most profitable flip yet.' The episode ends as if the house hasn't sold, but in fact, it has. After Tarek and Heather listed the property in June 2024 for $2,499,900, it went through two price decreases before finding a buyer in August for $2,238,750. That's $261,150 below the list price, meaning the flippers walk away with a profit of $368,750. It's still an incredible profit, but it's not what they expected. In fact, it's just over half what they estimated they would make. Heather Rae El Moussa and Christina Haack are open to flipping a house together — even if Tarek El Moussa isn't so sure
Christina Haack competes against Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa on HGTV's "The Flip Off." The trio told Business Insider they'd be open to flipping a house together. Heather Rae El Moussa said she'd be excited to collaborate with Haack from a design perspective. Nearly 10 years after they separated, the "Flip or Flop" stars Tarek El Moussa and Christina Haack are reuniting on HGTV. "The Flip Off," which premieres Wednesday, stars the pair and Heather Rae El Moussa, Tarek El Moussa's wife. The show originally intended to pit the El Moussas against Haack and her husband, Josh Hall, to see who could make the most money from flipping a home. After Haack and Hall filed for divorce in July, Haack did most of the competition against the El Moussas solo. Though the show makes Haack and the El Moussas competitors, the trio told Business Insider they were open to working as a team in the future. Haack and Tarek El Moussa were married from 2009 to 2018, and they share two children, Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9. They also starred in "Flip or Flop" from 2013 to 2022. Tarek El Moussa married Heather, a former "Selling Sunset" star, in 2021. They share one son, Tristan, who will turn 2 on Friday. Haack has a son, Hudson, 5, from her relationship with her ex-husband Ant Anstead. "The Flip Off" marks the first on-screen collaboration between Haack and Tarek since "Flip or Flop" ended, though each has their own HGTV series now. Tarek and Heather star on "The Flipping El Moussas" together, and Haack has turned to spotlighting her renovations for clients in "Christina on the Coast" and "Christina in the Country." Despite all their experience with real estate and reality TV, competing against each other was new for Haack and Tarek. When asked if they'd consider returning to their roots and flipping a house as a trio on- or off-screen, Haack and Heather said they were interested, though Tarek wasn't quite as enthusiastic. He nodded at the question and said, "Hmm," prompting Haack to tell him to relax through laughter. "Every time someone asks this question, we're like, 'Yeah, that would be so fun,'" she said of herself and Heather. "This one's over here like, 'Oh, I don't know.'" "He's like, 'I don't know if I want to work with them,'" Heather said, mimicking her husband's voice. The trio bickered about the idea before Haack asked Tarek directly about teaming up. "If I was like, 'Hey, would you guys like to partner on a flip and we can split the profits,' you would say no?" Haack said. "I would say yes," Tarek said. "OK then, that's your answer," Haack told BI, laughing. View this post on Instagram A post shared by HGTV (@hgtv) "Why am I getting in trouble right now? What happened?" Tarek said jokingly. Heather said she'd be excited to collaborate with Haack from a design perspective. "I think it would be fun to see Christina and I design together," she said, adding that she'd be interested to see if they could bring their ideas together. Only time will tell if the El Moussas and Haack combine their design forces, but the fact that it's even a possibility is a testament to how their relationship has grown in recent years. When "Flip or Flop" ended in March 2022, reports suggested that filming had become "too intimate" for Haack and Tarek. Two months later, photos appeared to show Haack and Heather fighting at one of Brayden's soccer games and a coach separating Hall and Tarek. Haack and Heather later released a joint statement saying they had resolved a "personal matter," and the pair put aside their differences when Brayden had a health emergency a few days later. The tension seemed like a distant memory when the trio talked to BI, laughing together as they discussed the series. Haack also told BI that filming the show without Hall ended up being a "major advantage" because he didn't have as much experience with flipping or reality TV as she does. "I think that without him it's just easier," she said. A representative for Hall didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. "The Flip Off" premieres on HGTV at 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream the show on Max. Read the original article on Business Insider
