TV host Rodger Corser reportedly shown the door at Channel Ten as the network continues to shed high-profile talent

Rodger Corser has reportedly been shown the door at Channel Ten, joining the list of talent being cut as the network continues to shed staff. Channel Nine swooped the popular 52-year-old TV host from under Ten's nose to host its top-rating game show, The Floor Australia, in 2025. The switch came after Corser's previous show, The Traitors, was not renewed for another season with Ten after just two series in 2022-23. It's understood Ten had still left the door open for Corser to return to host the reality game show should it ever make a return to screens. However, a source who spoke to Woman's Day on Monday said the network has now 'quietly let go' of Corser as host of The Traitors. The TV star is said to be wondering whether his move to Nine was ultimately the deciding factor for the bosses at Ten to show him the door. A TV insider told Woman's Day the network has been 'cleaning house' of its highest-earning talent to slash budget and 'freshen up' its shows. 'Essentially anyone with anything close to six zeroes (salary) has been let go,' a source said. The development comes as Survivor Australia fans are still reeling over Ten's axing of host Jonathan La Paglia in June. The show's producers told the TV veteran he was out of a job via a "clinical" and "cold" email, Daily Mail Australia reported. Australian Survivor: All-Stars champion David Genat is tipped to replace La Paglia, but insiders have said he "doesn't fit the brief" as host. "He's charismatic, sure - but Survivor needs someone with gravitas," a source told Daily Mail Australia. "David is not Jonathan, and viewers will notice that." Australian Survivor, which features a group of contestants called "castaways" living in an isolated outdoor location in Samoa where they must gather food, water, fire, and shelter while competing in challenges for awards and immunity, has recently struggled with a ratings slump. The last season, Brains vs. Brawn II, saw viewership dip to 486,000 total overnight viewers, a far cry from the many millions it attracted in its prime. It closely follows 10 News+, Ten's new current affairs news program 10News+, having also failed to gain viewers during its first week on air. 10 News+ replaced The Project in June, launching with an average national broadcast audience of 291,000 viewers. The show lost 47,000 viewers the following evening, bringing its national average to 244,000 viewers. That figure dipped to 205,000 on the third night and continued to decline, with a further drop to 159,000 recorded on Thursday. Ten's hopes for a comeback on Friday were dashed when a mere 152,000 people tuned in, or a decrease of 139,000 viewers compared to Monday. The fall in viewership is especially stark when compared to The Project's final episode on June 27, which saw 478,000 people tune in. A Ten spokesperson told the network was 'taking a long-term, multi-platform view of audience development.' 'Building a loyal news audience takes time, and we are prepared for gradual growth as audiences discover and connect with our unique approach to news delivery across many platforms,' the spokesperson said. '10 is fully committed to 10 News+. This is a marathon, not a sprint. "We are investing in building a sustainable, quality multi-platform news service that will grow and evolve with our audience's needs over time.' has contacted Ten and Rodger Corser for comment.

Today host Karl Stefanovic shocks his wife Jasmine with bizarre home beauty routine in candid social media video

Karl Stefanovic has shocked his wife Jasmine with his bizarre at-home beauty routine in a candid social media video. Jasmine took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the clip of the Today host donning an LED face mask as he grilled capsicums on the barbecue at night. The popular skincare tool has recently gained popularity and is designed to reduce fine lines and wrinkles among other benefits through the use of light therapy. In the clip, Stefanovic's face was concealed behind the mask, which flashed bright red, making him appear somewhat ominous in the dark. The TV presenter's wife of six years appeared perplexed at the sight of her husband's self-care routine. 'What are you doing?' Jasmine asked. Stefanovic explained he was simply 'multitasking' by taking care of his skin while grilling. Jasmine took the opportunity to use his phrase, writing 'Multitasking Monday' and two laughing emojis over the video. It comes hours after Stefanovic was caught in another unusual act while presenting Nine's breakfast news program on Tuesday morning. As presenter Jayne Azzopardi was reading the morning's breaking news, Stefanovic reached into a nearby bin to fish out food scraps and ate them. Azzopardi revealed the scraps were the remains of the quiche she ate for breakfast in a video on the Today show's TikTok account. This prompted Stefanovic's co-host, Sarah Abo, to call Stefanovic's move 'disgusting.' ' did you do that?' she asked in the clip. The veteran presenter shrugged her question off and said he simply couldn't resist eating the delicious-looking scraps. 'It's some sort of exotic quiche (Jayne) eats every morning, and I just like the outside of it; I can't resist it,' the 50-year-old said. 'But alright, you know what, Jayne? Payback's a b****.' Despite his off-the-cuff responses, Stefanovic has demonstrated serious ambitions at Channel Nine in recent days. He called for a 'proper investigation' into the recent shooting of Channel Nine's United States correspondent Lauren Tomasi with a rubber bullet as she covered the Los Angeles immigration protests. The reporter had her back towards a line of officers when one of the police turned in her direction and fired a rubber bullet. A projectile struck the calf of Tomasi, who could be heard wincing in pain. Stefanovic last Tuesday said the incident had to be 'properly investigated' given it was clear Tomasi was a reporter as she was holding a microphone in front of a camera. 'I get that it's dangerous to cops, too. What's happened to them in the line of duty and the position they are in is horrendous,' he said. 'But how is it okay for your police force to be firing at unarmed Australian journalists? 'If Albo (Prime Minister Anthony Albanese) is looking for a place to start with Donald Trump - as an Australian, I might start there.' Stefanovic is also reportedly vying for a new role at the Nine Network's latest top ratings hit, The Floor Australia. Insiders at the network last month revealed the TV presenter wants to replace Australian actor Rodger Corser as host of the trivia game show. The Floor sees contestants battle it out on topics such as Australian cuisine, famous characters, and gold medallists, which flash across large, coloured tiles on the ground. The family-friendly show has proved popular with audiences, breaking records when it premiered on April 28 with a total national reach of 2.22 million viewers and has dominated the prime-time 7.30 pm slot since.

Karl Stefanovic vying for new role as host of Nine's latest top ratings TV hit The Floor Australia amid contract negotiations

Karl Stefanovic is reportedly vying for a new role at the Nine Network's latest top ratings hit, The Floor Australia. On Friday, insiders at the network revealed the Today host, 50, wants to replace Australian actor Rodger Corser as host of the trivia game show. The Floor has proved popular with audiences and broke records when it premiered on April 28 with a total national reach of 2.22 million viewers. The family-friendly show has dominated the prime-time 7.30 pm slot since. Contestants battle it out in topics like Australian cuisine, famous characters, and gold medallists, which are flashed across large coloured tiles on the ground. Stefanovic wants to host the program after he featured in a promo for the prime time hit ahead of its premiere, sources told The promo saw Corser introduce the star who debated his Today co-host Sarah Abo on the topic of breakfast foods. Abo beat him in the first round, but he made a comeback in the second round, when the stars dueled over bands. Stefanovic's interest in taking over Corser's role comes as Nine is due to negotiate with him over his current $3 million contract. Sources told that the network's management was bemused by his interest in taking over the Doctor Doctor actor's hosting duties. It's said the 50-year-old thinks he is better suited to hosting the program than Corser, who secured the gig in October 2024. The Floor follows the popular Dutch version of the show, which was then emulated in the US, featuring 80s American actor Rob Lowe. When it premiered, the Australian iteration even topped Nine's A Current Affair, which recorded a much lower total TV national audience of 1,147,000. All 81 contestants on the show aim to challenge and win their neighbours' tiles and steal their area of The Floor. Whoever wins the entire floor will claim a life-changing prize of $200,000.

Today host Karl Stefanovic eyeing new role on Nine's biggest show amid contract negotiations

He is Nine's well-known breakfast TV star. And now there's speculation that Karl Stefanovic is seeking to get a permanent spot on the network's latest ratings hit. Insiders at Nine have revealed that the 50-year-old media veteran wants Rodger Corser's place as host of The Floor Australia. The family friendly game show has been Nine's number one entertainment program since it debuted late last month. Sources at Nine revealed to on Friday that Karl has shown interest in hosting the program after appearing on a promo of the prime time hit ahead of the show's April 28 premiere. Insiders told the publication that Nine management, who are due to negotiate with Karl over his current $3million contract, were left unsure how to respond to the stars interest in taking on Corser's role. Insiders at Nine have revealed that the 50-year-old media veteran wants Rodger Corser's (pictured) place as host on prime time ratings winner The Floor Australia Corser appeared in the promo on The Floor set in which Karl was seen 'duelling' with his Today co-host Sarah Abo on the topic of 'breakfast foods'. Sarah beat Karl in their first round, but the TV host made a comeback in their second round, where the pair were quizzed on bands. It comes after The Floor Australia has proven to be a massive - and surprising - prime time ratings winner for Nine. The quiz show has won its 7.30pm slot ever since it dropped three weeks ago. Based on a hugely successful Dutch format that spawned a hit US iteration featuring 80s star Rob Lowe, the Aussie version scored a staggering 1,171,000 viewers nationally when it debuted on April 28. Over on Seven, long-running dating show Farmer Wants a Wife got nowhere near its new rival on the same night, attracting an average Total TV national audience of 833,000. Screening on Mondays and Tuesday evenings, the trivia game is the biggest entertainment show on Australian TV right now. For three weeks, it has finished in the third spot in the Total TV Overnight Top 30 Programs survey. Tuesday's episode pulled in an average national audience of 1,073,000 while Farmer Wants A Wife managed 764,000 viewers across the country. The Total TV national audience combines audience averages calculated by networks in the metro and regional areas on free-to-air television and broadcast video on demand. While the show has shed viewers over the last few weeks it remains enormously successful. Created as an elimination game that starts with 81 contestants, players have a chance to win $200,000 in prize money. Using a large floor with coloured tiles that flash topics, contestants go head-to-head as they are tested on topics such as Australian cuisine, famous characters, and gold medallists.
