New Delhi: Indian Railways and IRCTC are operating a moving 7-star hotel. It is The Golden Chariot, a royal luxury train that offers all amenities. Enjoy a spa on the moving train, go to the gym, or have wine/beer; everything is available. The Golden Chariot is a luxury tourist train that connects the important tourist spots in the Indian states of Karnataka, Goa, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu as well as Puducherry, depending on the selected itinerary. The train is operated by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and The Maple Group handles the hospitality services on the train. The Golden Chariot is owned by Karnataka State Tourism and Development Corporation and operated by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. It derives its name from the stone chariot in the Vitthala Temple at Hampi. The Golden Chariot's Facilities and interiors are a mix of contemporary and traditional patterns to highlight the old world and the modern comforts. Golden Chariot Luxury Train Facilities Golden Chariot's facilities are similar to a luxury Five Star hotel. The train is decorated with world-class facilities. Modern facilities include luxurious cabins, spacious lounges, fine dining multi-cuisine restaurants, a conference car, and a health spa. If you want to relax your toes at well-equipped luxury saloons or if you want to have supper in embellished restaurants or sweat at a mini gym, the train offers all those facilities. The train is designed in such a way that you won't lack anything onboard. Cabin and Accommodation The Golden Chariot is an all-suite train. The guest suites are a mix of 13 Double Bed Cabins, 30 Twin Bed Cabins, and 1 Cabin for the Specially abled. All of the suites onboard come with windows that allow spectacular views 24×7. Guest Carriages on the Golden Chariot train are named after the dynasties which ruled south India over several centuries which are Kadamba, Hoysala, Rastrakota, Ganga, Chalukya, Bhahamani, Adilshahi, Sangama, Shathavashna, Yudukula, and Vijayanagar. The Golden Chariot coach is daintily decorated with many historical carvings. Furniture takes its inspiration from Hoysala and Mysore architecture. Nalapaka originates in the Indian epic Mahabharatha, in which Nala was one of the finest chefs of his time, and Paka means cuisine. Thus, Nalapaka refers to the finest cuisine. Ruchi, true to its name, means taste. The interiors of the restaurant are similar to the ruins of Hampi and Halebid. Lounge and Bar One of the fascinating Golden Chariot Facilities include Madira bar. It is an artistically designed bar onboard. Madira, meaning elixir, was a drink of the Gods. Along with Madira, passengers can also enjoy local exhibits. The world-famous Mysore Palace inspired the bar for elegant seating and decoration. The bar serves the choicest of wines, beers, and spirits.
