This restaurant is serving kitchen sponges & dirty sink water — and people are actually eating it

With a heart as pure as mine, April Fools is a yearly nightmare. Imagine falling for the same recycled lies again and again — all for the sake of a 'holiday.' And just when I thought the chaos was over, bam — KANTIN at The Granary in Sarawak and Jewel Changi in Singapore decided to dial it up with their dishwater and kitchen sponge combo. For RM27, you'll be treated to what looks like a classic lime green dishwashing sponge, soaked in suspiciously soapy suds, complete with bubbles for that oh-so-luxurious mouthfeel. You can even request a shot of extra detergent — straight from the bottle, darling. Now, I know what you're thinking: This is absolutely disgusting! And you're right. But also… when else will you get the chance to truly clean your mouth? Especially if you've spent the last month blabbering about your ex, your family, or the entire human race — this might be the universe's way of telling you it's time to start fresh. Just when you think it can't get any more unhinged, it does: the dish comes with a side of dirty sink water — scooped straight from KANTIN's well-worn kitchen sink. A little counterproductive? Sure. But when will you ever get to taste the air tangan of an actual dishwasher? Exactly. Okay, I know that some of you are getting more and more alarmed as this article goes on, but in case it wasn't obvious — yes, these are all edible! The 'kitchen sponge' is actually a delightfully fluffy dessert you can scoop and devour, and the 'dirty sink water' is a safe-to-drink concoction designed to test your courage and your palate. While this might trigger a few gag reflexes among the more picky foodies, for those who once nibbled on real sponges as curious kids (we see you), this might be the redemption arc you've been waiting for. So, what do you say? Dare to take a bite? KANTIN's April Fools special is available throughout Apr at both their Malaysia and Singapore locations. Get them while they last! Is Wingstop Singapore's IG account just a bold marketing stunt— or has it actually been hacked? Live in Nantwich organisers praise community's 'gig-going spirit'

'When it comes together and you see people applauding - there's no better feeling,' said Tim Dougill, organiser of Live in week of music, which is part of Independent Venue Week, will support two Nantwich venues, The Granary and The Studio, at a time when the live music industry has struggled.'I don't get paid. It's all voluntary. But I just love it,' smiled Mr Dougill, of Moth has teamed up with Dani Cook of Applestruck Records to organise the festival, who said: 'We're a community that's got a real gig-going spirit." 'Everybody likes to come out for an event.'Ms Cook's claim is backed by the number of tickets sold for this week's performances, with many artists playing to sold out crowds.'No-one starts off playing arenas, right?' Ms Cook said.'So we need to get some bands here and new and up-and-coming bands that can help to support our music ecosystem.'The festival even has an international appeal, with a group of friends flying from Barcelona to hear their favourite artist, Fyfe Dangerfield. Ouch! is one of the local bands to benefit, playing their second ever gig as part of the guitarist and vocalist Jurijs Kaminovs said the band were "dying" to perform.'Pubs, they're not really receptive to more original stuff,' he suggested, 'you want dedicated music venues for that.'Mr Dougill promised 50% of ticket sales will be reinvested into The Granary to support more music events in the future.
