Manushi Chhillar calls out misogynistic remarks against women: A deep-rooted bias
Actor Manushi Chhillar recently called out the misogynistic mindset towards women in the entertainment industry. She questioned the bias which led to women being discussed with such disrespect and contempt. The actor also criticised the sexist remarks like gold-diggers and manipulators often used for opening up about her values and upbringing in an empowered, educated environment, the 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' actor shared a long post on X. She wrote, "A misogynistic mindset finds it easier to attribute a woman's success to a man's patronage than her own merits. I've always really ignored silly comments which have no consequence in the real world, but I constantly see working women, especially in the entertainment industry, being discussed with such disrespect and contempt (sic)." Manushi Chillar has spoken on the perception towards women in the entertainment industry, stating that they are often 'discussed with such disrespect and contempt'. Taking to her X account on Saturday, Manushi called out the misogynistic attitudes that prevail in the industry. I've always really ignored silly comments which have no consequence in the real world, but I constantly see working women, specially in the entertainment industry being discussed with such disrespect and contempt.' She went on to add, "I grew up in an empowered, educated environment where irrespective of gender, we all had equal value to add. She was last seen in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which also starred Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff and Alaya F. The film emerged as a box office failure. Next, he will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film titled Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. The movie will reportedly showcase a triangle love story and tug of war for romance among the three of them. Although the movie was initially planned for a Christmas 2025 release, it was later pushed due to filming and the production process. Now, the film is slated for a grand cinematic spectacle on March 20, next year, as per reports. Besides this, Kaushal will also be seen in Takht, a historical family drama directed by Karan Johar. The film was reportedly a dream project of the filmmaker, but didn't make it to the floors by 2021 due to multiple reasons, like the COVID-19 pandemic and others. Now, it is slated for a theatrical release on December 11 this year. The action-drama movie features a star-studded cast, including Vicky Kaushal alongside Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. Reportedly based on the life of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh, the period drama will explore themes of love, ambition, and greed, where a brother betrays another for power. Vicky Kaushal will be seen as the legendary Chiranjeevi Parashurama in a mythology-action movie, Mahavatar: An Epic Saga. Directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, it will mark the third collaboration of the actor with Dinesh Vijan after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Chhaava.
