After the death of her ex boyfriend and child's father, Liam Payne - Cheryl is returning back to TV after the help of her long time friend, Cheryl is set to return to our screens for the first time in five years, following the tragic death of ex Liam Payne - and she's teaming up with an old friend. The Girls Aloud singer, 41, is due to make a guest appearance on The Voice during the Battle Rounds - four years after the segment was axed. But the pop world was left devastated when Liam tragically passed away last year. ‌ Her upcoming appearance on The Voice is said to be bittersweet, as Liam's last TV stint was a similar mentoring role on Building the Band. Cheryl has mostly kept out of the limelight in recent years, focusing on motherhood and healing after personal heartbreak. But her return with her long time friend will be a natural way back to her roots. The Girls Aloud star, 42, is reportedly being lined up for the 14th series, set to kick off in early 2026, after a five-year absence from our screens. It is reported Cheryl's friend and The Voice judge, Black Eyed Peas star is working with the ITV show to draft her in as a guest mentor for his acts on the upcoming series. Show bosses are also in talks with the Fight for this Love hitmaker to sign onto the show as a permanent mentor, it is reported. This will be Cheryl's first TV appearance since she was dance captain on The Greatest Dancer five years ago, and since Liam Payne, the father of Cheryl's son Bear, died in October 2024. A source told The Sun: ' and Cheryl first worked together 16 years ago and have remained good friends ever since. Last year's winner, 20-year-old Ava from Bristol, talked to Metro after her time on the show.
