Tom Brady Says He Regrets Doing Comedy Roast After His Kids Called Him Out Over Jokes About Their Mom

Retired NFL Tom Brady says he has some regrets. No, they aren't about his time on the gridiron — although the way the quarterback un-retired before retiring again might say otherwise — but instead about the way things went down during Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. The 2024 special featured a bunch of celebrities who happily took turns roasting Brady. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't the only target of their attention, which caused his children to get quite upset with him after the special aired. "It was tough on my kids for sure," Brady explained of children John Thomas (who he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan), Benjamin Rein, and Vivian Lake. "There's some things as a parent you f--k up, and you don't realize until after. We're not perfect parents. You'll see as you grow up, there's no perfect manual for it," he continued. "When you were in that moment, in that theater that night at the Forum, it was electric. It was crazy. We got done, everybody was on Cloud 9. I think that moment I'll never forget," he said. "And then I'll never forget when I talked to my kids the next day. I felt like a stake through the heart, understandably." One of the jokes made during the event involved the couple's divorce, which was probably still fresh on the minds of their children. It sounds like this really upset the trio of kids, leaving Brady feeling terrible for taking part in something that caused his kiddos so much pain. Fortunately, he says he's learned from the experience, and hopefully this means he'll think twice about participating in anything that could blow back on his family this way again. Although, he later conceded to Paul that "getting toughened up" is a good thing. "I gained a lot of self-confidence and self-esteem dealing with adversities and overcoming them," he added. "[But] you don't want to see your kids hurt because you can't do anything about it." So true. Up Next:

Ben Affleck reveals how Tom Brady gave him 'greatest day' aside from birth of his children

Ben Affleck has revealed that Tom Brady gave him the 'greatest day' of his life besides the births of his children. The 52-year-old actor - who is embroiled in drama with ex Jennifer Lopez - appeared on The New Heights podcast hosted by Taylor Swift 's boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. In the episode released on Wednesday, Ben recalled that one of the most memorable moments of his life was getting to 'run routes' as he played football with the 47-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion. Jason asked: 'How many completions did we get? What were you running? What kind of routes are you running?' Ben replied: 'I won't lie to you. I don't know if they have a name. I'm sure I disgraced every receiver that's ever run around. But to this day, aside from the birth of my children, that was the greatest day.' The A-lister shares three children - Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 16, and Samuel, 13 - with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Ben revealed how the athletic hangout happened with NFL legend Tom as they happened to be on vacation at the same location as he needed 'someone to play catch with.' The Town actor recalled: 'I was like [thinking] how much I was helping him. I think he was like, "I'm gonna f***ing blow this dude out of the car." And we literally got down there. And at first he's like, "Okay, go out here, turn around, turn around." 'And I'm like, "Alright," run as fast as I can [and] turn around. I fix to look at him, he's been waiting 45 minutes. I caught [the ball] because I was afraid of breaking my nose more than anything else. And then after a few of those, he's like, "Alright. We'll put some air on [the ball]." I was like, "No. No, it's already plenty fast."' Ben went on to say that Tom had him perform a bit of role play as he told him to pretend it was the fourth quarter of a football game with 23 seconds left on the clock and the team needing a big play with a fourth and 18. The quarterback icon told him to 'just run' as Ben explained: 'So he's like, look, look, calls it out. I start running, I don't look back. I'm sure to him it seemed like this. He's like, "I've never seen somebody run-in slow motion." To me, I was going as fast as you can go. 'And I'm like wondering when's this ball going to show up? And I look, I just feel like right out in front of me. And it was a little far for me. I think he probably adjusted back, and I reach out and I have to go all out extend [and] I f***ing catch it' The Kelce brothers - who are both all-pro NFL talents - gassed Ben up as they cheered 'let's go!' as the actor described the impressive athletic accomplishment. Ben said that he told 'everybody he knew' that he was able to do it before gushing about Tom. The actor also was savaged for his appearance on The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady , which was part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest, which was streamed live in May 2024 He said: 'It was like the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me, and I lived a full life of dreams. Right in that whatever hour of playing catch.' Ben went on to work with Tom on the famous 'DunKings' Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin' Donuts released in February 2024.
