Broadchurch and Keeping Faith star's new 'addictive' thriller will leave you 'on the edge of your seat'
Broadchurch and Keeping Faith star's new 'addictive' thriller will leave you 'on the edge of your seat' The new series stars Eve Myles alongside BAFTA Cymru award winning actress Gabrielle Creevy in a dark coming of age story. When the summer starts to draw to an end, the nights get colder and people are ready to have some cosy evenings in to save money ahead of the winter. Autumnal paraphernalia is already being stocked in shops, and we have plenty of exciting new TV shows to look forward to as the season changes. Strictly Come Dancing will be returning to our screens in September, and that is not the only exciting series the BBC has lined up for us. BBC Wales will be releasing their new four-part thriller, The Guest, starring Welsh icon Eve Myles, and BAFTA Cymru winner Gabrielle Creevy as the leading ladies. The series is said to leave you "on the edge of your seat." For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter The Guest follows Ria (Gabrielle), a woman with very little direction in life who is taken under the wing of the wealthy and independent Fran (Eve). The series follows their relationship, although the duo have hinted that not everything is at it seems. Gabrielle told Wales Online: " It's not what you think. I think there's so many twists and turns, when I was reading it for the first time, I didn't expect it to go the way it goes, and that's like every other page. "So I think you're definitely gonna be on the edge of your seat watching it." Article continues below The actress from Port Talbot explained: "It's just an amazing kind of thriller about two complicated women who find each other very interesting. They're both at a time in their life where they're just searching for something. "Especially for my character, she has financial issues. Her home life with her partner isn't, you know, as it was, the magic is gone and she just wants something else. Then Fran appears out of nowhere and kind of steers her in a direction. "She just finds this woman so intoxicating. She's just someone that she never thought she would cross paths with. "Ria lacks a lot of confidence with who she is and what she's meant to be doing, which direction she's mean to be going in. It's a journey of self-discovery really and maybe finding out that everything isn't what it seems on the outside." Eve Myles is back again, as yet another strong independent Welsh woman. (Image: BBC/Quay Street Productions) Eve, who is known for playing strong leading ladies like Gwen Cooper in Torchwood or Faith Howells in Keeping Faith, is back once again in a BBC series that will grip audiences. She said: "I think that the audience are going to find themselves in a fast-paced thriller that centres on the toxic and beguiling relationship of two women that are from either sides of the track. "It's about, you know, wealth depravity and culture, secrets and what it's like to be women in 2025 who seemly have their lives set up. Yet, as soon as you're invited into their lives and they invite each other into each other's lives, find out that it's not all what it seems. "It's a relationship that, you know, as intoxicating as it is for them and as addictive as it is for them, hopefully, that should be for the viewer as well. Article continues below "With each episode, and with each scene, a layer comes off from these women and you start to get to know them, you start to understand them and you start to connect with them hopefully." The Guest will be available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Autumn.
