Storytelling contest calls for raconteurs of all ages to showcase skills

A national storytelling championship, in which participants can narrate folktales, personal anecdotes or original stories, would be held for budding and seasoned storytellers to showcase their talent and skills. The competition will be conducted by ACEnovation, with The Hindu in School as the media partner and VIT, Chennai as organising partner. The registration fee per participant is ₹400. Participants from the age of 3 and above can submit stories in any language in a total of six categories. Every registrant will be able to avail gift subscriptions to The Hindu Group's children's products (two months' subscription to The Hindu Young World or three months' subscription to Young World Club digital or six issues of The Hindu in School). They can also access free online workshops on the art and science of storytelling and choose to attend any two workshops on a variety of topics. A free entry into the 'Hornbill Calls – Leader Talk' series is also on offer. The deadline to pay the fee is August 20, 2025 and free webinars will be held between May to August 2025. Entry submission A two-minute video should be submitted by August 21, 2025 in MP4 format. The submissions will be judged between August 21 and September 5 and finalists will be announced on September 10. The Junior finals will be held on September 20 and Senior finals will be held on September 21. The grand finale will be held on October 2 at VIT Chennai campus. The first place in each of the six categories take home trophies and cash prizes ranging from ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000. Samani is the Commerce topper with 94.4%. With 91.5%, Akash. M is the topper of class 10 from SJR Public School, Rajajinagar. From Soundarya Central School, Sidedahalli, Amogh Rao, 97.8% is the topper of class 10. Harshil R Yadav, 93.80%, is the topper of class 12 science stream and Dushyanth Swamy K S, 92.60% is the commerce stream topper. Skanda Desh Kulkarni, 98.8% is the class 10 topper of Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra, Banashankari and Gopalakrishnan T. R, 96.6% is the topper of class 12. The State board students from schools that are a part of The Hindu in School (THiS) programme achieved excellent results in the SSLC examination. Amara Jyothi English High School, Devasandra, K.R. Puram, got 52 distinctions, with Dhruthi S. topping the batch with 98.8%. Sharat Chandra S. and Ratish R., with 99.04% are the toppers of Mahila Seva Samaja High School, K.R. Road, which got 19 distinctions. Indiranagar High School, Indiranagar, got 26 distinctions and Deepthi K.R. is the school topper with 96.96%. Jubliee School, Vijinapura, secured 16 distinctions and N. Nithya Shree secured 99.04% and became the top scorer. Anwesha Pradhan with 98.88% is the topper of South East Asian High School, K.R. Puram. The school secured 23 distinctions. Holy Spirit School and PU College, Bannerghatta Road, secured 14 distinctions and Meghana P. is the topper with 95.68%. Jnana Deepthi English High School, Girinagar, secured 25 distinctions and Sinchana Manja S. is the topper with 97.28%. In SSB International School, Indiranagar, nine students secured distinctions and Reena Shiny with 99%, topped the school. St. John's School, Papareddypalya, secured five distinctions, and Dhanush A.S. scored the highest with 98.24%. A total of 18 students from Pragathi Vidyanikethana, Harohalli, Ramanagara, secured distinctions and Rachana G. secured 99.04% to become the topper. Hitha Hemanth Kumar, with 98.72%, is the topper of Little Flower Public School, Hosakerehalli. Lewa English High School, situated on west of Chord Road, got six distinctions and Jayashree R. is the topper with 95%. A total of 127 students from Cluny Convent High School, Jalahalli, secured distinctions. With 99.68%, Priya Naidu K. is the topper. SBIOA Public School, Basaveshwaranagar, secured 17 distinctions and its topper Keerthana. P. secured 98.08%. With 98.08% marks, P. Gayathri topped St. Martin's High School, Magadi Road, which secured 18 distinctions. There are 11 distinction holders from Ganga International School, Nelagadaranahalli, Nagasandra Post. Lekhashree A., who scored 96.16%, is the topper. V.I.P. High School from Adugodi secured 58 distinctions, and Dhanush K. is the top scorer with 99.52%. St. Claret High School, Jalahalli, got 100 distinctions and Aditi D. Kundapur scored 99.36% to become the topper of her class. Manoj R.S. who secured 98.4% is the topper of Nava Deep English High School, Gayathri Layout, K.R. Puram, which got five distinctions. ICSE and ISC students The ICSE and ISC students from schools under the THiS programme also secured impressive results in this year's class 10 and class 12 examinations. Pratham International School, Valepura, Kotur, secured 24 distinctions in class 10 and Sanjay Gowda is the topper with 96.2%. From The Oxford English School, J.P. Nagar, Rayeesha Fathima A., is the topper in the Science stream in class 10 with 96.4%. The Commerce stream topper for class 10 is Deepika N. with 96%. From class 12, Mithlesh Kumar Gupta, who scored 76.25%, is the Science topper and Mohammed Taqi Ahmed, who scored 73.25%, is the Commerce stream topper. V.L.S. International School, Sharada Colony, Basaveshwarnagar, secured 68 distinctions for class 10, and Akash S. with 97.4% is the topper of the class. Forty-eight class 10 students from Daffodils English School, Sanjaynagar, secured distinctions, and Aadhya Uday secured 98.4% and claimed the top spot.

Schools which are part of The Hindu in School (THiS) programme have achieved exceptional results in the ICSE and ISC results which were recently declared. Most schools achieved 100% results. St. Paul's English School (unit of presidency Group of institutions) in J.P. Nagar secured 151 distinctions for class 10 and 15 distinctions for class 12. Kaladhar Konduri (99.4%) and Koshidha (98.25%) are the toppers respectively. As many as 58 students of Insight Academy, Kanakapura branch, Vasanthpura, achieved distinctions, and with 98% Anshuman Girish is the topper. Auden Public School in Girinagar also achieved 45 distinctions for class 10 and Samartha K.P. is the topper with 98%. Adhithi Aravinthan who secured 99.6% is the topper from SFS Public School, Electronics City for class 10 and Shivani Veeresh with 98.8% is the topper for class 12I. The school secured 119 distinctions for class 10 and 29 distinctions for class 12. Shantiniketan Trust school, Bilekahalli, secured 23 distinctions for class 10 and Jivantika B. became the topper by securing 98%. S. Rohith Kannan with 99.6% is the topper of SJR Kengeri Public School which secured 90 distinctions for class 10. Christ Academy, Hullahalli, Begur Koppa Road, secured 183 distinctions for class 10 and Prajusha Behera, the topper, secured 99.6%. SEA International School, Ektha Nagar, K.R. Puram, got 20 distinctions for class 10 and two students, Aayush Das and Darshil. L. Reddy, shared the top spot with 95%. Ryan International School, Bannerghatta, achieved 35 distinctions and Nikhilesh S.M., and Shashank Tiwari both topped class 10 with 96.33%. Bunt's Sangha RNS Vidyaniketan, Vijayanagar, achieved 45 centums and 103 high distinctions for class 10 and Viharika Srujana Sangam secured 98.4% securing the top spot. From Carmel High School, Basaveswaranagar, 54 class 10 students secured distinctions and Harini K. is the topper with 97.2%. Ganga International School, Nelagadaranahalli, Nagasandra Post, achieved 18 distinctions for class 10 and Guna Sagar, the topper who got 98.4% secured 100% in maths, biology, and computer science. The New Cambridge English School ICSE, RPC Layout, Vijayanagar, got 168 distinctions and Samiksha K.H. is the topper with 98.66%. As many as 162 class 10 students and 65 from the science stream of class 12 and 132 from the commerce stream from St. Joseph's Boys' High School, Museum Road, secured distinctions. In class 10, Haripreeth U.T. is the top scorer with 98.16% while in class 12 science stream it is Ashrith Puppala with 98.2% and Soham Milind Joglekar with 99.2%. L. Cheryl Amanda and Saanvi Suman (both 98%) are the science toppers from Bishop Cotton Girls' School and Aaliyah Naomi Sylvester is the commerce topper with 97% in ICSE results. In ISC results, Kriti Sehgal with 98.25% is the commerce topper, Andrea Gracelyn W. with 98.25% is the arts topper and Aliza Sami with 95.25% is the science topper for class 12. Ryan International School, Kundalahalli, secured 90 distinctions for class 10 and Katherine Mary Kannerkerill and Konda Shashank are the toppers with 99.4%. Chavi Jain who scored 98.25% in commerce and Gracy Srivastava who scored 95% in science are the topper of class 12. From Ryan International School, Yelahanka, Anagha Adiga with 97.8 % is the topper of class 10 and the school got 90 distinctions. Martin Luther English School, Girinagar, achieved 20 distinctions for class 10 and K. Pranav Kini is the topper with 97.2%. As many as 30 class X students from SSB International School, Indiranagar, secured distinctions and Joanna A. Selin is the topper with 95%. Pradeepika S.B. with 93.2% in commerce and Shreyas Bhat with 96.6% in science are the toppers of class 10 from St. John's School, Cox Town, which secured 30 distinctions in commerce and 67 in science. In class 12, Rohit with 96% is the science topper, Rochelle Angelica Peck with 97.25% is the commerce topper, and Hlalgousang with 94.5% is the arts topper. Amara Jyothi English Primary School, Devasandra, K.R. Puram, got 20 distinctions for class 10 and Neeraj S. is the topper with 97.8%. Mitra Academy, Arekere, Bannerghatta Road, secured 83 distinctions for class 10 and Srinika Mugundan and Navya Nandan Nair share the top spot with 99%. BNM Public School, Banashankari 2nd Stage, got 22 distinctions, with Ranjan S. Kotagi emerging the topper with 97.4%. Little Flower Public School, Banashankari 3rd Stage, got 209 first classes with Yukta Adiga topping with 98.3%.
