Unsuccessful TV dating show contestant finds love on the motorway
A participant in a reality TV dating experiment who failed to find love on the show has told of how he found it on the side of the M5 instead. Richie Woodmason, 31, from Cheltenham, is appearing in new Channel 4 programme called The Honesty Box - an experiment where the hopeful singles are regularly tested by a lie detector test to determine their true feelings. While he failed to find a partner on the show, he said he managed to meet girlfriend Sarah after spotting her broken down on the motorway. "I was just driving along and saw this beautiful, tall, blonde-haired woman on the hard shoulder and I thought 'I'll pull over and change her tyre for her'," he said. "So I changed her tyre for her and she gave me her number at the end," he added. "She's amazing, she's such an incredible woman - lovely, down-to-earth and funny as well." The new series, currently running on Channel 4, challenges a group of participants to find a match in "Truetopia" - a villa in Cyprus - but with the catch they will each have to face a lie detector test, with the risk of reducing a £100,000 prize fund if they are found to be lying. Sarah Garwood, 36, who is a home cinema designer, said "no-one believes" how they met when she tells said: "It was the middle of November at seven o'clock at night and my tire had exploded on the way to work."I was stood there, about to call my brother, and then Richie pulled up in his truck. "I was absolutely freezing - and I'd only been there two minutes. He asked me if I wanted help changing the tire, and got to work."He had such a friendly demeanour - and it helps that he's quite good looking - so I wasn't worried at all. "He wanted to go for a coffee at the service station but I had to work, so I gave him my number." 'Great opportunity' Mr Woodmason told BBC Radio Gloucestershire he had been scouted for the programme via Instagram and thought "stuff it, why not?" when he was contacted."If you don't take the risk, you lose the chance," he his experience on the show, Mr Woodmason described it as a "pressure cooker" and "stressful at times"."You are being filmed all the time. There is a little bit within yourself where you just think I've got to watch what I say at times.""You can't be switched on all the time," he he said the show was a great opportunity to meet new people."It was a great chance to make new friends, new relationships that I feel like you don't necessarily get the chance to make in normal walks of life."

E4 The Honesty Box runners up Rose Skehan and Tommy Biswely jetted off to Thailand for a romantic break when things went wrong. The Honesty Box runners-up, Rose Skehan and Tommy Biswell, embarked on a journey to Thailand after their stint on the E4 series, where they encountered a harrowing experience. What was meant to be an adventurous getaway soon turned into a thing of nightmates, that led to Tommy rushing Rose to a clinic. The duo, who sparked a romance on the dating programme presented by Vicky Pattison, have remained a couple since the show concluded. Rose recounted a frightening incident from their Thai adventure. "There was one time where I got really sick when we went to Thailand and I fainted at dinner," she disclosed during an interview with the Mirror. "Tommy was carrying me like a baby through the streets of Thailand to this clinic and I was on an IV drip. We had the most random time ever." Tommy chimed in, "One minute she was singing having a fab time, next she was in a clinic on a drip. It was really quite mad that but Thailand was amazing time. We saw elephants, we rode horses, we saw monks." Rose elaborated, "We were walking up waterfalls, we really like broaden our horizons as well." Their travels also strengthened their bond, especially after Rose endured a personal tragedy back home. "It brought us so much closer together because while were out there as well, my horse of 11 years, he passed away and Tommy really stepped up in caring for me and supporting me so we've got such a strong base coming back to England," Rose explained. Since departing the show, Rose and Tommy have set up home together, embarking on a journey across the UK as an adventurous duo. "We're actually all over, so we jump round from cabin to cabin," Tommy explains. "We're exploring the whole country. We're finding nice little places that we've not been to in the UK," he added. Rose chimes in with her take on their travels: "It's great because we both love historic houses and animals - we're in our element going all over the countryside." The dynamic pair just missed out on clinching the top prize on The Honesty Box show, with Chantelle and Jovan ultimately taking the crown. Recently chatting with the Mirror, the victorious couple expressed their readiness to tie the knot. The "Honesty Box" is a lie detection system used in the Channel 4 dating series to test the participants' honesty. The show, hosted by Vicky Pattison and Lucinda Light, presents a £100,000 prize fund if the daters remain truthful in their relationships. The Honesty Box asks probing questions about the daters' past and present relationships, and lying leads to a reduction of the prize fund.

'We found love on a Channel 4 dating show - now we're teetotal UK nomads'
The Honesty Box aired its big finale last night and while Rose Skehan and Tommy Biswell may not have won the show, they have made a huge lifestyle change together Last night saw E4 air the finale of The Honesty Box, with host Vicky Pattison announced the show's winners after two weeks of lie detector dating dramas. While runners-up Rose Skehan and Tommy Biswell may have had a rocky road to love on the show, they have revealed that they're still going strong - and have embarked on a big lifestyle change together. "I've gone sober this year and Rose was obviously teetotal beforehand," Tommy tells The Mirror in an exclusive chat. "It has had a massive effect on my life. I feel like I'm the best version of myself for the relationship because of that." Rose adds, "It's nice to do it in a relationship as well because you both hold each other accountable for things. Coming out of the villa, we've been able to hold each other accountable and say, 'Look - I want you to be the best version of yourself and I feel like this is holding you back.' I think it really helped with Tommy's mental clarity and feeling better." Tommy shared that he had already been contemplating giving up booze before meeting Rose on the show. "I actually made the decision off my own back and I wanted to do it myself. It's something that I've been thinking about for a while. "I wasn't a big drinker beforehand, but I said to Rose, 'I'm going to do 2025 sober, do it with me,' and she was like, 'I'm well up for it.'" Now, the couple have become passionate about biohacking - a form of self-care where people try to change aspects of their biology to improve their health, performance and wellbeing. Speaking about what they want to do next, Tommy says: "We're really into biohacking - health is everything for us. If we can uplift people around us and show them that health is so important and to help them work on their own health - that's a really important message for us. "We're addicted to biohacking from grounding in the morning to saunas and ice baths," he adds, while Rose continues: "Even in the villa, I liked to do gua sha lymphatic drainage massages with my little tool." After travelling around Thailand together after the show, Rose and Tommy moved in together - but not in the conventional sense. "We're actually all over, so we jump round from cabin to cabin," Tommy says. "We're exploring the whole country. We're finding nice little places that we've not been to in the UK." Rose adds, "It's great because we both love historic houses and animals - we're in our element going all over the countryside."
