Jimmy Fallon uses Taylor Swift songs to explain Trump-Putin equation, says the two are ‘never ever getting back together'
U.S. President Donald Trump has once again become the butt of a joke, with the latest quip, like many in the recent past, delivered by a late-night talk show host. Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, talked about Trump's meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin on August 15. After making a comment on the president's recent decision regarding the famed Kennedy Centre, Fallon chose quite an interesting and unique way to explain to his audience what the meeting is going to be about.
Jimmy Fallon started the monologue talking about this year's honourees of The Kennedy Centre, including names like actor Sylvester Stallone, band KISS, country singer George Strait, and disco legend Gloria Gaynor. He said, 'Well, after naming himself chairman of The Kennedy Centre, President Trump announced this year's honourees, like Stallone and the band KISS. Stallone makes sense because he deserves it, and when you think of Trump's first 7 months in office, the word 'Rocky' does come to mind. Trump picked KISS because they are one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and they also wear the same amount of makeup as he does.'

Fallon stated that the two biggest news of the moment were Trump's meeting with Putin and Taylor Swift announcing a new album. To give the audience a laugh and show some love to Swift, who is a regular guest on the show, Fallon jumped into a segment where he described the relationship between the two presidents using titles of Taylor's previous songs. A part of it went something like, 'For a long time Trump would look at Putin and think, 'You Belong With Me,' and when people told him to stay away, he would just 'Shake It Off.' Recently they have had some 'Bad Blood', and Americans are worried that Trump isn't 'Ready For It' since his mind is just a 'Blank Space'. Putin could tell Trump that 'You're Losing Me' and 'We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together.''
The jokes continued as Fallon said, 'With Trump's meeting coming up, the president warned his Russian contemporary that his country will face severe consequences if they don't end the war on Ukraine. Putin must have been like, 'What consequences? A second meeting?' Also, Trump is hosting Putin at a US military base because he says that 'it is peak tourist season in Alaska and the options were limited.' I mean, this meeting could end a war, and Alaska is like, 'Sorry, the Marriott conference room is all tied up with the Rotary Club salmon retreat.' I mean, what are you doing?'
