QF's Pre-University Education and TKS open young minds to future-shaping opportunities

Times News Service Doha One of the world's leading innovation programmes for young people has brought its expert mentoring insights and techniques for aspiring change-makers to the youth of Qatar – through a special session organized by Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education Gifted & Talented Programme. The Knowledge Society is a 10-month programme for high school students that gives young people a grounding in key issues shaping the world – from climate change to AI – and develops their mindsets and real-world skills so they are equipped to think about and address them. Hosted in Academyati – a progressive school under Qatar Foundation's (QF) Pre-University Education (PUE) – and in collaboration with PUE's Gifted & Talented Programme, The Knowledge Society presented a session for students and parents across Qatar to open their minds to how they can cultivate the intellectual tools to solve big problems and help to shape the future. Sara Al Hajri, Director of Student Affairs and Community Engagement within QF's PUE, said: 'Introducing The Knowledge Society to our Gifted and Talented community and to students across Qatar is a natural extension of our belief that learning should be dynamic, relevant, and connected to the real world. It's a powerful example of how QF, and its Pre-University Education, continue to lead in reimagining education beyond traditional boundaries.' She added that opportunities such as The Knowledge Society session are a chance to engage students who are 'curious, driven, and passionate' about STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics – topics in new ways. The session reflects QF's commitment to developing and adopting customized approaches to education that prepare students for the challenges of today and tomorrow, including through Academyati, a QF school which combines innovative teaching methods with values-based learning to foster personal growth and moral development as well as academic excellence. 'Sessions such as this are exactly what we mean when we talk about enriched learning,' said Elizabeth Kennedy, director of Academyati. 'It's a chance to go beyond the curriculum, spark interest, and plant seeds that can grow into future pursuits. We're proud to be a space where these opportunities can happen. 'This session is another way that we demonstrate how learning doesn't pause at the end of the school day.' 'Whether it's through innovation, camps, or student-led discovery, Academyati is building a culture where every learner is inspired to further. At Academyati, we believe in connecting our learners with leading experts to ignite curiosity and stretch their sense of what's possible – we see our role not only as educators, but as bridge-builders, connecting students with people, ideas, and experiences that expand the world. 'Hosting The Knowledge Society session is aligned with this – bringing the world closer to our students and making high-level mentorship accessible at an early age.' Pranav Menon, programme director with The Knowledge Society, who led the session, encouraged participants to think about 'what you imagine yourself doing by 2035 – and not in the sense of what job you want to be doing', so they can gain a better understanding of how they envisage the future, and their own future. 'The Knowledge Society is about enabling every single person to ask themselves 'what do I want to make happen in the world?',' he said. 'Our philosophy is to be a human accelerator for young people – one that doesn't just teach them about technology, but about mindsets and networks. We start by exposing them to things like blockchain, gene editing, AI, and quantum computing, and open up the world of what emerging technology makes possible.' Applications to The Knowledge Society online programme are now open for those aged 13-17. For more information and to apply, visit

Dubai Future Foundation marks graduation of 90 exceptional students from inaugural ‘The Knowledge Society' Dubai Program

Young future innovators showcase innovations in AI, robotics, and climate tech, solidifying Dubai's role as a global hub for talent and technology. TKS Dubai Program 2025-2026 applications are now open Dubai, UAE: Dubai Future Foundation (DFF), in partnership with The Knowledge Society (TKS), marked the graduation of the first exceptionally talented cohort from the global TKS Dubai Program. The ceremony, held at the Museum of the Future, showcased innovations in AI, robotics, space tech, synthetic biology, and climate solutions. These projects highlighted how the next generation is not just preparing for the future – they are actively building it. The initiative operates in over 450 cities worldwide and equips students aged 13 to 17 with the tools to become the next generation of scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators. Over 10 months, 90 students from more than 60 schools developed innovative solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges using advanced technologies, further strengthening Dubai's position as a global centre for innovation and talent development. The program simulated an intensive, dynamic environment that mirrors the work culture of leading tech companies, connecting young Emirati innovators with a global network of experts and mentors. Students also had the chance to present their work to global tech companies and investors for potential investment. The program is part of Dubai's broader vision to empower its youth with the mindset and tools to shape the future of key industries and society. By instilling futures thinking at a young age, the initiative helps students become the architects of a rapidly evolving world. Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO and Chief Operations Officer at DFF, said: 'Empowering the next generation of innovators and nurturing young leaders is central to Dubai's future. At Dubai Future Foundation, we are committed to supporting this vision through specialised programs and partnerships that help young talent turn their ideas into reality and bring their entrepreneurial projects to the global stage. Dubai is known for its dynamic environment that supports youth, along with its investment and funding networks. We will continue to foster a culture of innovation, empower emerging talent, and highlight the most promising ideas from Dubai to the world." Navid Nathoo, CEO of TKS, said: 'Together with Dubai Future Foundation, we're building the region's most ambitious youth ecosystem, shaping the future of industries and making Dubai the place where young innovators come to change the world.' During the ceremony, graduates presented their projects, including wearable technology for AI-driven disease detection, digital brain twins for personalised neurological care, systems that convert urban heat into cooling and electricity, quantum simulations for cancer treatment, and modular platforms that transform waste into clean energy. Each demonstrated how youth-led innovations can play a significant role in tackling global challenges. Since its launch in 2016, the TKS Innovation Program has trained over 4,500 students globally who have gone on to establish startups and ventures collectively valued at over $250 million. Recognised as one of the world's top accelerators, the program draws on curricula developed in collaboration with experts from Harvard, Stanford, and MIT, and replicates the culture of some of the world's leading global tech communities. In Dubai, the program supports the city's vision of becoming a global destination for emerging talent and future industries. It offers guidance from over 350 mentors from leading startups and companies across 40 vital future sectors including clean energy, neurotechnology, quantum and edge computing, and human-robot interaction. The program also enhances university admission prospects and provides internship opportunities with international organisations.
