Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock reunite after 20 years for a romantic thriller
After starring in the 1994 action classic Speed and 2006's romantic drama The Lake House, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are reteaming once again for Amazon MGM Studios' upcoming romantic thriller. The yet-to-be-titled film will be written by Noah Oppenheim, known for Jackie and Zero Day series. Details about the plot and rest of the cast members are yet to be announced, but the makers describe the story as "propulsive." Producer Mark Gordon is also reuniting with Reeves and Bullock after Speed to back the project. According to reports, Gordon and Oppenheim pitched the story to the actors and went on to develop the film. Apart from starring as lead actors, Reeves and Bullock will also be producing the project. While Bullock is backing it via Fortis Films, Reeves, Gordon and Bibby Dunn are bankrolling under The Mark Gordon Company. Oppenheim and Sarah Bremner are producing via Prologue Entertainment. Known for his work in the Matrix and John Wick franchises, Keanu Reeves was last seen in John Wick: Chapter 4 and reprised his role as Neo in The Matrix Resurrections. He also voiced the role of Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Bullock was recently seen in The Lost City. She has also played memorable roles in The Unforgivable and Bird Box for Netflix.

The duo will headline a new romantic thriller from Amazon MGM Studios, reuniting with producer Mark Gordon, who previously worked with them on the 1994 action classic 'Speed'. The untitled film will be written by Noah Oppenheim, best known for his work on 'Jackie' and the Netflix series 'Zero Day'. 'Speed' Stars Keanu Reeves And Sandra Bullock Reunite For Amazon's Romance Thriller
It's a third-time reunion for Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, as the duo will be getting back together for a romantic thriller in the works at Amazon MGM Studios. Little else is known about the project beyond a 'propulsive' story, but Noah Oppenheim ( The Maze Runner , Jackie ) is onboard as a screenwriter. The two Hollywood veterans worked together in 1994's Speed before starring in 2006's The Lake House , which makes their upcoming outing the first reunion in 19 years. Since then, Reeves and Bullock have gotten their fair share of the spotlight — the former, most notably, for the John Wick series and 2021's The Matrix Resurrections , and the latter, for Bird Box (2018) and Gravity (2013), the performance that earned her an Oscar nomination. While it's no Speed 3 , that doesn't mean the chances of reviving the franchise are zero. The pair previously expressed interest in returning for a potential threequel, with Reeves saying, 'I mean, you know — we'd freakin' knock it out of the park. Agreeing that they are on the same page, Bullock added, 'Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera.' Directed by Jan de Bont, Speed follows LAPD officer Jack Traven (played by Reeves), who must prevent a bomb from exploding aboard a city bus by keeping its speed above 50 miles per hour. Bullock portrays a passenger embroiled in the mission, continuing her stint without Reeves in Speed 2: Cruise Control, which, unlike its highly acclaimed predecessor, crashed and burned at the box office. The Lake House , meanwhile, is a remake of the 2000 South Korean film that revolves around an architect living in 2004 and a doctor living in 2006, who meet via letters left in the mailbox of, well, a lake house where they both lived at separate points in time. New Keanu Reeves-Sandra Bullock Movie News Sparked the Same Joke From Fans
The latest announcement in the entertainment industry came in the form of movie news that will bring two fan-favorite stars together again. As Variety reported, former Speed co-stars Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock will team up for a 'romantic thriller' currently being developed by Amazon MGM Studios. While there's been little revealed about the film itself, the studio reportedly called the story "propulsive." Variety also cites that Bullock and Reeves are both producers for the film. The news sets up a third go-round for Reeves and Bullock to star together in a movie, with the aforementioned Speed being the first team-up back in 1994. They also starred together in the 2006 movie The Lake House, but when the news came out, fans couldn't help but make the same Speed-related jokes. "Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock had so much chemistry on Speed." wrote one fan. "There's got to be at least one bus scene or speeding joke in it." replied another. "a shot for shot remake of speed?" wrote another. "Speed 2???" replied one fan. While fans couldn't get the idea of a Speed remake out of their minds, there's no denying that the on-screen chemistry of Reeves and Bullock should add even more intrigue to the untitled upcoming project. Reeves has most recently executive produced and starred in John Wick: Chapter 4, the series which he's been the face of. As for Bullock, she's starred in and produced The Lost City, The Unforgivable and Bird Box.

Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are finally fulfilling a dream fans have been having for nearly 20 years. The pair, who famously starred in the action classic Speed, have been lined up to lead a new romantic thriller being developed by Amazon MGM Studios. While details about the movie are being kept top secret – we don't even know the title – the film has been described as 'propulsive' by those in the know. But wait, there are more reasons to get excited. The movie's been written by Noah Oppenheim, who wrote 2016's Oscar-nominated Jackie and helped co-create the Robert De Niro Netflix series Zero Day. According to THR, though Keanu and Sandra aren't the only Speed alumni working on the film. Mark Gordon, who produced the bus-themed thriller, is developing the film, and he's the one who brought the project to them in the first place. Needless to say, Keanu and Sandra's fans are very excited about the idea of them working together again. 'Yasssssssssssss. I don't even care what the plot is, I will be watching,' wrote Jjo1819 on Reddit, while Brilliant_Concern_79 added: 'This has honestly made my day. I love them both. Cannot wait.' It was MoonMan997, though, who was asking the question on everyone's mind. I can't believe Disney haven't greenlit [Speed 3] yet, they wrote. 'Seems like an absolute no-brainer.' Just last year, the pair both said they'd be up for making Speed 3 while appearing together on the 50 MPH podcast. 'I mean, you know. We'd freakin' knock it out of the park,' The John Wick star said said. 'It does feel like there is a siren call to it, like there's something that wasn't done,' Reeves added. 'I would love to work with you again before our eyes close.' 'Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera, Bullock said in response. 'Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?' It seems that the pair have managed to make that dream of working together come true, although unfortunately not in the long-mooted Speed threequel. The pair clearly adore each other and have incredible chemistry, even in The Lake House, a film I loathe, they've got such undeniable appeal, and they clearly love working together. So roll on 'Untitled Amazon MGM Romantic Thriller' I can't wait to see you! The pair last worked together on the 2006 romantic drama The Lake House. Sadly, that film doesn't quite have the same reputation as Speed and was critically panned on release. More Trending Sitting at just 35% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film was described by critics as overly complicated and not romantic enough. That said, legendary film critic Roger Ebert did praise Keanu and Sandra's performances, calling them both 'enormously likeable'. Meanwhile, AO Scott wrote in The New York Times that the film was 'a showcase for its stars, who seem gratifyingly comfortable in their own skin and delighted to be in each other's company again.' If that's not enough, Sandra and Keanu won the 'Best Liplock award' at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards, truly the highest honour an actor can receive.
