SUNDERLAND will don a new badge this coming season as they prepare for their return to the Premier League. And Sunderland are heading back in style with a new look as they unveiled their away kit. The Premier League newcomers will be visiting their opponents in a blue jersey paying tribute to the club's proud maritime identity. And the collar will have"City by the Sea" stitched into the back of the neck, while the inside will feature a poetic nod to The Lake Poets. But fans were particularly in awe of the new badge that is quite different to their original crest. One supporter tweeted: "Take my money now." A third wrote: "I love it." Sunderland have often made changes to the badge for their away kit throughout the years. But this time they have modified the colours, which makes it stand out to past alterations. Based on photos that have surfaced across social media, Sunderland will continue playing with their original badge and signature red and white colours at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland have unveiled their 2025-26 away shirt as the club prepares for life in the Premier club said the shirt is inspired by the 1989-91 away kid, nodding to "an unforgettable era for the Lads".The club said: "Paying tribute to Sunderland's proud maritime identity, the kit features a bespoke pattern inspired by the view of the Roker Beach lighthouse from through the 'C' Sculpture, woven into the fabric to reflect the city's deep connection to the sea."'City by the Sea' is stitched into the back of the neck, while the inside collar features a poetic nod to our coastal home with lyrics from The Lake Poets:"'Yes, I come from a city by the sea"and its shores and its waters"have become a part of me'"
