JAMES Bond himself, the Hollywood star Pierce Brosnan was captured backstage by in his Citizens Theatre dressing room during a run of Noel Coward's Semi-Monde in 1977.
Sean Bean at the Citizens Theatre (Image: Citizens' Theatre/John Vere Brown) Talking of 007, a villain from the franchise, the Lord of the Rings star and soon to be seen in epic new BBC drama This City is Ours, Sean Bean played a journalist in The Last Days of Mankind, by Karl Kraus, at the Citizens Theatre, in 1983.

Glasgow's own David Hayman, currently starring as Siobhan Finneran's aging father in thrilling ITV drama Protection, is a long-time fan of the Citizens and has appeared at the venue many times. He recently visited the building during renovation works, calling it 'the most beautiful theatre'.

Largs-born actor Daniela Nardini, now working as a psychotherapist in Glasgow, got her big break in 90s show This Life about a group of insufferable young lawyers trying to reach the top while negotiating love, drugs and excess. In January 2004, she appeared at the Citizens [[Theatre]] in Top Girls.

Australian actor Jonathan Hyde played Lady Bracknell in the Citizens Theatre production of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde in 1977.
