That's where Gale came in to ask her a series of questions about her well-being. She also asked if the last time Ellie spoke to Joel was at the New Year's party, and Ellie said yes but she lied. At the end of The Last of Us Season 2, Episode 6, we learn that after Joel pushed Seth and returned home, Ellie saw him sitting on the porch and decided to start a conversation with him. Long story short, Ellie had been angry at Joel because after Eugene was bitten, Joel didn't let him see his wife, Gale, even though he had time before fully transforming. Joel had promised Ellie that he wouldn't kill Eugene right away, but he did and to Ellie, that felt like a betrayal. After confronting Joel about this, Ellie asked him about what really happened at the hospital and whether he killed the people who could have created a cure. Joel admitted that he did, because otherwise, she would have died. When Ellie got angry, Joel told her that he would do it all over again if he had to because he would do anything to save her. Ellie thinks Joel is selfish, but to Joel, Ellie is nothing less than a daughter. He acted out of love. The Last of Us Season 2 episode 7 release date The Last of Us Season 2 episode 7 which is the finale will be released on 26th May 2025 on JioHotstar.

The Last Of Us fans 'in tears' over devastating act following bombshell death

After the shocking death of a fan-favorite character, The Last of Us fans continue to mourn on social media with Sunday's brand new episode. The series follows Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) as they try to navigate the aftermath of a global pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection. Ellie possesses a bizarre immunity to the disease, as Joel learned at the end of Season 1 that the Fireflies planned to kill Ellie and study her brain to try and develop a cure. Joel responded violently, killing many soldiers and an unarmed doctor, lying to Ellie by telling her they found other immune people and could not develop a cure. Season 2 began earlier this month, set five years after the first season, introducing Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), the daughter of the doctor Joel killed who tracked him down and brutally killed him in front of Ellie in last week's episode. Now that Joel is gone, Ellie goes on a journey for justice, which includes a touching tribute that fans responded to on social media. Ellie's friend Dina (Isabela Merced) reveals that she actually knows the people who killed Joel, telling Ellie their names and that they can be found in Seattle. Ellie puts together a proposal for the Jackson Hole council to round up a posse of 16 and travel to Seattle to kill the men and women who killed Joel. While Ellie insisted she would honor whatever the council decides, when they reject her proposal by a wide margin, she sets off on her own with Dina and one horse. Earlier, Joel's brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna) told Ellie where they buried Joel, and she stopped to visit his grave before embarking on this vengeful journey. While she doesn't say anything at the gravestone, she dropped some coffee beans on the ground near his gravestone with a sly smile. The moment was a callback to Episode 4 of Season 1, where Ellie makes fun of Joel for drinking coffee, saying it smelled like, 'burnt s**t.' While it's unclear how the Jackson Hole leaders will react to Ellie and DIna's absence, the episode ended with the friends reaching the city of Seattle. Fans were clearly still in mourning, sharing several tweets about how they miss Joel's presence on the beloved series. Stacey (@blankindigo) tweeted, 'ellie putting coffee beans on joel's grave actually broke me #TheLastOfUs.' Another X user dubbed @bigcountry__6 said, 'Ellie dropping the coffee beans on Joel's grave in #TheLastOfUs CRAIG MAZIN AND NEIL DRUCKMANN YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS.' Another fan - @fefiholtz - shared images from the video game and tonight's episode, adding, 'i cried for you in all your universes, Joel #TheLastOfUs.' Ange (@lananyra) shared a GIF of Tyrese Gibson crying, adding, 'I MISS JOEL SO BAD #TheLastOfUs #TheLastOfUsSeason2.' Brittany (@brittrosenthal) said, 'there's no show without joel im sorry #thelastofus,' while @casuallyhottogo said, 'the coffee beans #TheLastOfUs.' Ana Karen (@simpleluna3) said, 'Grace said that some might feel like it's a different show without Joel and I must say I kinda felt it already.' Kad (@Ani_Kad) added, 'Bella did such a great job at showing the impact Joel's death had on Ellie, that hospital scene when she walked out and her mask fell. That town hall meeting scene was really good too, Jackson's presence is felt way more here than in the game and i love that!! #TheLastOfUs.' Brittany added, 'ellie crying with joel's shirt NOOOO #thelastofus' while Manan B (@themannyb26) said 'Ellie leaving coffee beans at Joel's grave made me tear up in ways I didn't imagine #TheLastOfUs.' Gibson (@GibsonMenace77) said, 'Rest In Power, Joel... #TheLastOfUs.' Stacey (@blankindigo) tweeted, 'ellie putting coffee beans on joel's grave actually broke me #TheLastOfUs.' Another X user dubbed @bigcountry__6 said, 'Ellie dropping the coffee beans on Joel's grave in #TheLastOfUs CRAIG MAZIN AND NEIL DRUCKMANN YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS.' Ana Karen (@simpleluna3) said, 'Grace said that some might feel like it's a different show without Joel and I must say I kinda felt it already.' Brittany added, 'ellie crying with joel's shirt NOOOO #thelastofus' while Manan B (@themannyb26) said 'Ellie leaving coffee beans at Joel's grave made me tear up in ways I didn't imagine #TheLastOfUs' The episode also showed Ellie get some help from an unexpected ally - Seth (Robert John Burke) - who was taken down by Joel after he bashed Ellie and Dina kissing at the New Year's Eve dance. He was on Ellie's side this time, though, wanting to get revenge for Joel's death, but instead he traded Ellie a better rifle for the journey. Fans will have to wait to next week to see how the Jackson Hole council will respond to Ellie and Dina going rogue. The Last Of Us airs the fourth episode of its seven-episode season on Sunday, May 4 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
