First, he became pope. Then, he took down LeBron James
First, he was elected to be the Catholic Church's new pope. Then, he took down LeBron James and Victor Wembanyama. No, Pope Leo XIV is not a basketball phenom. He's the subject of a highly popular new trading card, which is outperforming past cards featuring top NBA stars, according to The Athletic. Topps released the Pope Leo trading card on Thursday. It shows him standing on the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica and waving to the crowd gathered below, moments after being introduced to the world. By Monday afternoon, Topps had sold 133,535 copies of its Pope Leo card, the company announced on X. That broke the record for sales of a Topps Now card focused on something other than sports. 'Topps Now cards are printed to order and made to commemorate milestone events, then sold individually for a limited time,' The Athletic reported. As The Athletic noted, the Pope Leo trading card has outperformed several sports-related Topps Now cards, including a card made to celebrate LeBron James reaching 40,000 career points. While more than 130,000 copies of the Pope Leo card have been purchased so far, Topps printed 86,072 copies of the James card and 133,777 of a card commemorating Victor Wembanyama winning the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. But the Pope Leo card has a long way to go if it hopes to set a new sales record for all types of Topps Now cards. 'The record for a sports Topps Now card is currently held by the one produced to commemorate Shohei Ohtani becoming the first MLB player to achieve a 50/50 season, which had a print run of 653,737,' The Athletic reported. The Topps Now card is just one of many new products that's been released in honor of the new pope. Several clothing companies in the U.S. have released shirts highlighting Pope Leo's connections to Chicago, using phrases like 'Da Pope,' according to ABC7 Chicago. Breweries are creating pope-themed beers, bobblehead brands are selling Pope Leo bobbleheads and Portillo's is selling a sandwich called 'The Leo' for the rest of May.

How to Shop Carrie Bradshaw's Favorite Jimmy Choo Heels
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Carrie Bradshaw might have lost her Choo, but the time has come for you to find your own. Launched today, Jimmy Choo has taken a visit back to its archive to reintroduce a series of styles from the '90s and '00s that include three pairs worn by Sarah Jessica Parker's character in the original series of Sex And The City. FIND OUT MORE AT ELLE COLLECTIVE Creative director Sandra Choi worked with fashion journalist Alexander Fury and designer Conner Ives on the edit that brings back seven styles from strappy sandals to knee-high boots. 'In our discussions, it was mostly about defining the fashion moment at the time and the context of how the styles influenced and shaped the design aesthetic for the brand over time,' Choi tells ELLE ahead of the launch. No wonder, then, that the collection runs the gamut to include every shoe an It girl could want and then some. Highlights also include a flat suede mule and a sandal held on by a singular rose-clad toe strap. As the brand approaches its 30th birthday next year, Choi is grateful for the pop culture moments that defined its early years — especially the Sex And The City appearances. 'I think the feather sandal 72138 has so much to answer for,' she explains. 'It was a turning point for the brand that firmly put us on the global fashion stage. What a lot of people don't know is that the sandal Carrie is wearing in the iconic opening title sequence is The Leo in leopard.' And then there are the knee-high boots that have been reconfigured for 2025 in python-printed leather that she wears to sit on her stoop. Though released nearly three decades ago, the seven styles speak to the designs many of us are looking to add to our wardrobe today—such is the cyclical nature of fashion. 'It is always important to reference the past in order to move forward,' added Choi. 'Fashion is influenced by popular culture; popular culture is influenced by society, and so the cycle continues. Seeing '90s and early noughties references resurfacing, and how the new generation interpret them, is inspiring.' As if choosing seven styles from its rich archive wasn't hard enough, we tasked Choi to pick a favorite from the select styles. 'Personally, I love the first strappy design as a thong sandal on an 85mm heel. I remember they broke every rule possible at the time,' she offered. 'Those fine straps casing around the toes and the curve of the arch pushes enough sexiness so that you forget you are wearing a thong sandal on a high heel because you are going to have fun looking so fabulous! The thong is pure noughties nostalgia—the inspiration was a handkerchief top, a 2000s wardrobe staple. A simple design, but requiring hours of meticulous craft.' Launched just in time for summer, when we are all reconsidering what our shoe (Choo?) wardrobe looks like, each pair would offer the right amount of vintage styling to bring favorite wedding guest dresses or even denim jeans bang up to date. As Choi concluded: 'All of them are pieces of nostalgia that deserve a place in the wardrobe! Some of them are timeless, others are work of art with exquisite details and craftsmanship. I honestly think they are must-have forever shoes. But then again, I'm biased!'$1295.00 at Jimmy Choo$1795.00 at Jimmy Choo$995.00 at Jimmy Choo$795.00 at Jimmy Choo$995.00 at Jimmy Choo$895.00 at Jimmy ChooYou Might Also Like The 15 Best Organic And Clean Shampoos For Any And All Hair Types 100 Gifts That Are $50 Or Under (And Look Way More Expensive Than They Actually Are)

Pope Leo XIV collectible released by National Bobblehead Hall of Fame
(NewsNation) — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released its Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads on May 9, selling 2,000 in its first week to customers across 47 states, according to a press release. The bobbleheads have been popular in Chicago where the pontiff was born and raised and in Philadelphia where he went to college, the museum said. The 8-inch bobblehead is on presale with an anticipated November shipping date. Each costs $30 plus shipping and taxes. One depicts the pope waving one arm, commemorating his first greeting in his new role to a crowd of over 150,000 in St. Peter's Square on May 11. Another is of him in the papal white robe called a cassock with his hands held by his chest. 'This is nuts': How Louis Prevost learned his brother became pope Pope Leo XIV was elected earlier this month after his predecessor Pope Francis died on Easter Monday. The museum also sells Francis bobbleheads for the same price. Some of the museum's best sellers include Dr. Fauci, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sister Jean, a religious figure. Leo merch has quickly become a favorite among Catholics, Chicagoans and many more. The Chicago Sun-Times released 'Da Pope!' commemorate merchandise, including a special edition newspaper, T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, tote bags and magnets. The popular Chicago hot dog restaurant Portillo's released 'The Leo' Italian beef sandwich as well. The White Sox announced plans to unveil a graphic installation at Rate Field to mark the location where Leo cheered for Chicago in Game 1 of the 2005 World Series. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
