Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi mourning death of beloved rescue dog
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are mourning the loss of their rescue dog. The former talk show host and her wife's beloved Beagle-Chihuahua mix, Augie, sadly passed away on May 15. The couple took in the pooch more than a decade ago. Sharing a series of photographs of Augie chilling around their home, Ellen wrote on Instagram on May 16: 'We had to say goodbye to Augie yesterday. We rescued him 12 years ago and he was so grateful. 'He gave us so much love. He will be missed. There will never be another like him.' The couple's devastating loss comes after they relocated to the English countryside after 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' backlash. The pair bought a property in the Cotswolds after being spotted at The Farmer's Dog - a pub owned by Clarkson's Farm' host Jeremy Clarkson. Ellen hosted the last episode of her long-running TV talk-show in May 2022. Prior to that, Portia quit acting to focus her attention on General Public, the art curation and publishing company that she owns. In December, Ellen denied a report suggesting her farmhouse had flooded. The MailOnline suggested the 67-year-old comic's Cotswolds estate was badly affected by the severe weather in the south west of England as Storm Bert brought torrential rain and winds up to 80mph to parts of the country, but Ellen poured cold water on the speculation. The six-bedroom property boasts 43-acres of land, and it was claimed that a stream flowing into the Thames River alongside the property burst its banks. The outlet quoted a neighbour as saying: 'The flood waters are rising by the hour. This is the worst I have seen it in years." However, Ellen insisted all was well. To mark 20 years since she started dating "beautiful soul" Portia, 52, Ellen shared a selfie of the pair in the English countryside and wrote: '20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything. 'You help to guide me and pick me up when I feel off or down. You are a beautiful soul that I am so very grateful to have as a partner to navigate this crazy life with. (sic)' Ellen concluded her post by addressing the flood rumours, writing: 'P.S. for those of you concerned, our U.K. farmhouse did NOT flood.' According to TMZ, the couple decided to move to the UK after president-elect Donald Trump won the 2024 US presidential election.

Princess Andre makes 'final decision' over ITV project as she brutally snubs mum
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Katie Price has been snubbed by her eldest daughter, Princess Andre, in her new ITV reality series. The 17-year-old is set to step into the limelight as she becomes the focus of a fly-on-the-wall show. However, it's believed that former glamour model Katie won't be making an appearance. Despite being accustomed to the public eye, it seems that the 46-year-old will be allowing her daughter to savour the experience solo. Princess has been following in the famous footsteps of her parents, Katie and Peter Andre, collaborating with brands for the past two years. But now she is set to offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse in her new documentary-style programme. READ MORE - Queen's 'firm response' to Prince Harry and Meghan after plea during Lilibet meeting READ MORE - Vegan family issue 'last warning' to neighbours after BBQ request is ignored The MailOnline reported that Peter and his wife Emily will feature, but Katie will be taking a back seat. A source revealed: "Katie will not be in Princess's show, the decision has been made and it's final. Princess loves her mum, and they have a great relationship, but the show is all about her work and home life. "Television bosses were adamant that nothing was to be 'staged' to include Katie as it would not be a real and truthful insight into her life.", reports the Mirror. The show will follow Princess up to her turning 18 in June. This isn't the only exciting development in Princess' life at the moment, as she also announced last week that she passed her driving test. Princess took to Instagram to share the news that she has passed her driving test. The caption simply read: "I passed..." The thrilled young driver was beaming as she displayed her driving certificate while seated in the vehicle. Her followers and friends inundated the comments with congratulatory notes. One penned: "Congratulations, Princess. Well done.... Now for a life of being the family taxi." Another chimed in with: "Brilliant! Well done," while a third commented: "Congrats I'm sure your dad will get you a decent car." Given Peter's history, this seems likely; he previously bought his son Junior an Audi A1 for his 17th birthday, even before the lad had passed his test. Peter splashed out on the car complete with a personalised number plate and green brake callipers, leaving Junior ecstatic over his "dream car". At the time, Junior shared his excitement on Instagram, posing atop his new ride and showcasing the custom plate. His post read: "Couldn't be more grateful right now. I'm releasing my debut single "SLIDE" this Friday, 17th June, and my dad just got me the car of my dreams." Peter, brimming with pride for his firstborn, expressed: "My son. So proud in every way. You deserve all of it. So happy you love your present."

Casualty's Amanda Mealing's new job after drug crash left nurse with injuries
Amanda Mealing admitted driving with cocaine in her system following a crash close to her home in Deeping St Nicholas, Lincolnshire, in January 2024 Casualty's Amanda Mealing has landed herself a new job after cocaine-fuelled car crash left a nurse with life-changing injuries. The actress has a new project to focus on as she headed out to Malta earlier this month to work on a special episode of Channel 5 show Good Ship Murder alongside well-known faced Catherine Tyldesley, Shayne Ward and Ross Adams. The 57-year-old has been offered the lifeline back into showbiz after admitting to driving with cocaine in her system and driving without due care and attention after a crash near her home in Deeping St Nicholas, Lincolnshire, back in January 2024. While the court hearing was going on this March, Amanda's solicitor said how the actress turned to cocaine to cope while going through a divorce from husband Richard Sainsburys. She was also going through the deaths of her father, best friend and her dog. Amanda was also diagnosed with blood cancer, after being diagnosed with breast cancer years before. It was reported that she had taken cocaine the night before the crash and was driving home when her car drifted across the road and hit an oncoming Skoda driven by nurse Mark Le Sage. He was left seriously injured and had to change his career due to the crash. The actress who plays Connie Beauchamp on Casualty was banned from driving for 28 months, reduced to 22 months as she had already served a six-month interim ban. The court also fined her £482 and ordered to pay £400 costs and a surcharge of £194. She agreed to pay at a rate of £100 a month. The MailOnline reported that a source said: "Amanda is a phenomenal actress and has made many friends within the industry. Everyone has been rallying around her. She admitted what she did and opened up about what was going on in her life at the time. "She is not a bad person and has been through a lot. She was already in talks about appearing on the murder mystery drama before the court case. And once it was all over, the little guest role gave her the life-line she very much needed." Good Ship Murder has become a popular series on Channel 5 and sees different much-loved celebs appear each week. The third series will air on our screens next year. Other stars due to appear on the next series will include Birds of a Feather legends Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph. Since leaving her job at Casualty in 2021, Amanda has moved from acting to directing which included for an episode of the BBC TV series Waterloo Road.

Michael McIntyre sees £195,000 Mercedes sportscar towed away in Kensington
Michael McIntyre saw his £195,000 Mercedes sportscar towed away in Kensington. The MailOnline pictured the comedian, 49, speaking to an official as his car, with its wheels clamped, was hoisted on to the back of a lorry in Derry Street, Kensington. The Sun add that McIntyre offered to pay the charge on the spot, but that it was still removed. An onlooker told the paper: 'McIntyre's car was being lifted. I walked past and said 'unlucky'. He just seemed to laugh it off and said 'oh well'. 'I think he may have been coming out of Dishoom as he was on that side.' They added: 'McIntyre was trying to get them to put his car back down but he made sure he didn't make too much of a scene given his audience. 'He was protesting and trying to pay the two tow truck operators not to take his Mercedes away but they weren't having it. 'You could tell he was frustrated but kept himself calm. He was trying to see if he could go with them to the impound. 'The parking bay was temporarily restricted and enforced due to a building site next to it.' The Standard have contacted representatives of McIntyre for comment. With a 4.0litre twin-turbo V8 engine, the model - a Mercedes-AMG GT R - can retail for up to £195,000. And for that hefty price tag, the car has the ability to produce 585 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds. He clearly likes Mercedes, as he also owns another Mercedes AMG GT, which can retail for £108,000. In other news, the BBC recently confirmed it has ordered another two series of Michael McIntyre's Big Show, as well as The Wheel. "I'm so proud of the success of both The Big Show and The Wheel,' he said. 'This will take the Big Show up to its 10th series, which is an amazing achievement for everyone involved. "The Wheel was a show we made in lockdown while we couldn't film the Big Show, but it's become equally beloved. Someone came up to me recently while I was walking the dog and said they 'loved The Big Wheel', I have no idea whether they meant The Big Show, The Wheel or both shows, they may have just come from The London Eye."
