Landing $51.7 million at the worldwide box office so far from its $20 million budget, Materialists tells the story of matchmaker Lucy, who finds herself in a predicament when she crosses paths with a perfect match and stumbles upon her "imperfect" ex.
The film is led by a trio of stars in Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, and is comfortably sitting at a Certified Fresh rating of 79% on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.
Materialists is the sophomore effort from Song, who dazzled audiences for the first time in 2023, with her semi-autobiographical Past Lives, which tells the story of childhood sweethearts Nora and Hae Sung who reunite two decades later and wrestle with the complexities of love and destiny.
