'I haven't seen a QB do that': Budda Baker goes on a praise parade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray

(Image via Getty: Budda Baker and Kyler Murray) On a 14-minute-long chat with Mina Kimes, a Senior Writer at ESPN and an Analyst on NFL Live, Budda Baker, a safety for the Arizona Cardinals, goes on a complimenting spree for his team's quarterback, Kyler Murray. He says that even though Murray's short(five-foot-ten), he makes a lot of throws inside and outside of the pocket. Budda also sheds light on one of his touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers, 'Even like that 49ers game where in San Fran, he points up to the touchdown 40-50 yards away, knowing he was going to score! I haven't seen a QB do that. So, it's definitely exciting.' Budda Baker says Kyler Murray has kind of been in the bag this whole offseason Mina Kimes asked Budda Baker on The Mina Kimes Show, 'You've been with Kyler for four years now. You all are the only players really from the 2020 team. What would you say is the number one thing about Kyler Murray that people outside of the Cardinals' building do not know?' The 7-time Pro Bowler, Budda Baker, answered, 'Just the way that he goes about practice. He practices really hard. He dictates. He tells receivers what to do - how to do it because you can see after each and every play - he's communicating to his guys - okay if you were supposed to sit in that zone, sit in the zone. He's kind of been in his bag this whole offseason, doing no-look throws and having a great offseason training camp. So K1's, he's going to run a little bit more, a little outside the pocket, inside the pocket throws. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villa For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search ads Learn More Undo He's kind of doing it all. Budda Baker breaks down the Cardinals' scheme & gives the inside scoop on Kyler Murray 👀 Budda Baker calls Kyler Murray the most underrated quarterback in the NFL Mina Kimes nudged, 'Who would you say is the most underrated quarterback in the NFL?' The NFL Solo Tackles Leader, Budda Baker, responded, 'I would say K1 because we haven't had a lot of national games. People kind of see him as a short guy, but this guy can make all the throws inside the pocket, outside the pocket. He's quick. You see it on tape - he's outrunning everybody all the time. Even like that 49ers game where in San Fran, he points up to the touchdown 40-50 yards away, knowing he was going to score! I haven't seen a QB do that. So, it's definitely exciting. But it's cool to just lay under the weeds and have him be that underrated guy and just kinda show who he is this year and throughout the whole season.' Kyler Murray, once called a dual-threat quarterback, is now recovering from a torn ACL suffered in 2022. Nevertheless, that has not stopped Murray from being the dual threat that he is. On April 9, Murray told PHNX Sports, 'I don't want to get too scheme-based, but I do feel like I have to run more next year. I'm open to running more next year, just because it's such a weapon, you know, it's such a weapon.' NFL analyst predicts New York Giants will have a top-10 defense

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen took some big swings on defense this past offseason, upgrading all three levels with top draft choices and strategically chosen free agents. The question now is, what will this defense look like, and how effective will it be? ESPN NFL studio analyst Mina Kimes believes the Giants can have a top-10 defense in 2025. "I chose this team entirely based on the idea that the defensive line can just completely take over games and ruin the lives of quarterbacks," Kimes said on The Mina Kimes Show. Kimes likes the synergy that the Giants hope to achieve with their secondary, which consists of high draft picks Deonte Banks, Tyler Nubin, and Dru Phillips, as well as recent free-agent pickups Jevon Holland and Paulson Adebo. 'They also added some players in the back end that I think could stabilize things with Javon Holland at safety, Paulson Adebo, Phillips is really good. I really like the combination of Javon Holland and Tyler Nubin together, because I think you can have Nubin playing closer to the box where he's better, personally," Kimes said. The real selling point is still the defensive front seven, which features All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence, edge rusher Brian Burns, and rookie linebacker Abdul Carter. "But set that aside. This is all about the front: Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeaux. Yeah, it's a nightmare," she said. "And they're deep, I like the D-Tackles they have. They drafted Darius Alexander as well, and bring in Chauncey Golston. "Every year there's a defense where the pass rush just goes nuclear and I feel like 'why not the Giants?' Why am I crazy to have them at 10?" She's not delusional. The Giants look scary on paper, and Kimes is not the first to let their imagination roam about what the defense can be. The addition of Carter, who the Giants plan on playing all over the field, could make them special.

ESPN analyst suggests Bucs' Baker Mayfield may be 'sorta shaky' ahead of 2025

ESPN analyst suggests Bucs' Baker Mayfield may be 'sorta shaky' ahead of 2025 The NFL dominates almost an entire calendar year's worth of headlines. Of course, there are all the happenings of the regular season starting in September through the culmination of the season with the Super Bowl in February, and every sort of power ranking you could think of every week. For some, there is no rest for the wicked because free agency opens in March. Which, of course, means post-free-agency power rankings and grades. As that is going on, we are preparing for the NFL Draft in April. Which leads into watching college game film, understanding a team's needs, creating at least 400 mock drafts each year, and debating it with anyone who will listen. What happens after the Draft? Grades and power rankings. April is also the month when minicamp begins, with rookie minicamp starting in May and running through OTAs and mandatory minicamp in June. June 19th is the last day for remaining teams to hold their mandatory minicamps, which naturally means that this provides more opportunities to grade and rank teams because we really don't do that enough. On The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny, ESPN's Kimes and Ben Sloak ranked their Top 10 offenses heading into the 2025 NFL season; they each had the Bucs sliding in at ten and seven, respectively. Kimes said that she watched more of the Bucs from last season than any other team to try and prep, because the numbers last season were "so insane for them and it feels slept on for how good they were last year." So why the ranking so low for a team that had one of the most prolific offenses in 2024, returning all 11 starters, and added a first-round pick at wide receiver in Emeka Egbuka in the Draft? Is it because Mike Evans is a year older, and Chris Godwin is coming off a brutal ankle injury? Nope. "I have to ding them for sorta shaky quarterback," Kimes said of Baker Mayfield. "He's good, I'm just saying, that and the loss of the coordinator [Coen], so that was it for me," she continued. As we know, Mayfield loves it when the media discredits his body of work, and is always looking for a reason to play with a chip on his shoulder. Maybe there is a bit of natural regression down from the 4, 500 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions due to the Coen leaving for Jacksonville. It's a safe bet that Mayfield will still fall into the Top 10 range simply because there are too many offensive weapons on the Buccaneers roster, paired with one of the best offensive lines in the league, for the Bucs offense to hang on to a Top 10 position by a thread.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Address Why They're ‘Under the Radar' Contenders

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Address Why They're 'Under the Radar' Contenders originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers underrated as a franchise? That is the argument Mina Kimes has made on her show "The Mina Kimes Show." During this week's stream, the ESPN host interviewed Buccaneers veteran linebacker Lavonte David to answer that very question. Advertisement Like Kimes, David was seemingly perplexed as to why the Buccaneers always seem to operate under the radar. "I don't know why. We're a humble organization" David said. "We got a lot of great players. It's good though, we like having that underdog mentality. We have a bunch of underdogs. A lot of guys with a tremendous amount of talent and a lot of heart that battle week in and week out for each other." Perhaps one of the reasons why fans and pundits seem to overlook Tampa Bay is due to their start. When Tampa Bay was an expansion franchise in the 1970s, they were easily the worst team in the league. Things have changed over the last few decades, though. Advertisement Tampa is a title contender. And while they continue to perform in the shadows, that is perfectly fine for their upstart roster. In the case of David, he has already won a Super Bowl, and is still one of the best leaders in the league. As he looks to put the finishing touches on his career, he's hoping the organization has one more title run to go on during the 2025 season. Broncos closely linked to 3 prospects ahead of NFL draft

Broncos closely linked to 3 prospects ahead of NFL draft The 2025 NFL draft is just a few days away, and reports are emerging of the Denver Broncos showing strong interest in several prospects. Earlier today, ESPN's Matt Miller reported that Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden has a draft range of 20-35, and he noted that Denver "did a ton of work on him." It should be noted that there have been some concerns about Burden's work ethic (which his coach has denied). One anonymous scout was quoted by Bob McGinn as saying Burden's "mom is a problem" as the receiver's manager. It's unclear if any of that is accurate, but we do know the Broncos remove players with big character concerns from their big board, so the rumors are at least worth noting. Elsewhere, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah has noted the team's "love affair" with Michigan tight end Colston Loveland. "I'm fascinated to see what happens, I don't think he gets there, but Colston Loveland," Jeremiah said during an appearance on "The Mina Kimes Show" on Monday. "The Broncos have long been connected to having a, no pun intended, love affair with Loveland, but they went out and signed Evan Engram and gave him decent money. So is that enough to take them off of Loveland if he somehow got to them? That's one of the little sidebars I'm looking forward to." Meanwhile, DNVR's Zac Stevens has reported that Denver is high on Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson, "so much so that they could use their first-round pick on him." Stevens has also reported that the Broncos could be looking to trade up for a tight end, and sources have indicated that Loveland has "caught [Sean] Payton's eye." Burden? Loveland? Henderson? True interest or smoke screens? We'll get answers on Thursday night. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
