Hotel review: Check into Dublin's residents-only townhouse with a ‘poet-in-residence'
The Wilder is full of eye-catching touches like a suntrap terrace and original art

It's a sweet feeling to have a hotel tip in your back pocket. A place you know friends will like, has a few head-turning touches, yet does the hotel things well (hello, great showers and breakfasts).
The Wilder Townhouse, set in a beautifully crisp Victorian red-brick, is one. A Dublin sister to The Montenotte in Cork, it opened in 2018 after a savvy, artful fit-out by owners Frankie and Jo Whelehan — and is the only hotel in the capital to feature in Ireland's Blue Book and the Mr & Mrs Smith and Small Luxury Hotels of the World collections... not a shabby holy trinity of hotel guides.
