'Coco,' Summerfest and The Desert Darlings: 7 events this week

Reach out to features@ Sing out The New Mexico Women's Chorus, along with guests Nicolas Lang and Chan Blackston, are bringing you "No Estamos Solas/A Cultural Mosaic" on Saturday, June 14, and Sunday, June 15. The event will showcase songs that reflect the influences and traditions of the state's cultural mosaic. The Saturday concert starts at 7 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque, 3701 Carlisle Blvd. NE; and Sunday's event start at 4 p.m. at Mesa View United Methodist Church, 4701 Montaño Blvd. NW. Tickets are $13-$20 at Folktales for all Teatro Paraguas is bringing two bilingual cuentos (folktales) to Santa Fe. The performances of "El Hombre Que No Podia Dejar de Bailar (The Man Who Couldn't Stop Dancing)" and "Los Cuatro Amigos Músicos de Belen (The Four Musicians of Belen)" are part of the Cuentos Library Tour. Admission is free and the event is slated for 2 p.m. Friday, June 13, at the Santa Fe Public Library Main Branch, 145 Washington Ave.; and 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the Santa Fe Public Library Llano Branch, 1730 Llano St. For more information visit 'Remember me' Movies in the Park is coming to Kirtland Park, 1408-1572 San Jose Ave. SE, for a screening of "Coco." The movie starts at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 13, and the event is free. Step in time The Desert Darlings are bringing "Poppins: A Theatrical Fusion Belly Dance Adventure!" to the South Broadway Cultural Center, 1025 Broadway Blvd. SE. The spin on the classic story starts at 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, and Saturday, June 14. Tickets are $20-$35, at and will increase day of the show. The performance is not suited for children under 5. Sounds of summer Head to the Heights for the first Summerfest of the year. The free event runs from 5-10 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at North Domingo Baca Park, 7521 Carmel Ave. NE. Enjoy kids' activities, local bands, headliner Cimafunk and more. A community celebration Celebrate Juneteenth from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Civic Plaza and Albuquerque Convention Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza. R&B singer Bobby V is headlining this year's event, which features a loaded entertainment schedule, youth activities, craft vendors and more. Visit for more information. Wood you like to attend? The Albuquerque Woodworking Show is coming to St. John's United Methodist Church Family Life Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 14. The event features woodworking artisans showing and selling their work, including furniture, wood carvings, sculptures and more. The event is free. St. John's is located at 2626 Arizona St. NE.
